I mean, the guy was purposely put in a suit with no comfort/padding with the metal intermingling with his melted flesh. He had no hands, no legs, no ears, damaged eyes. Give the guy a break.
The most painful thing is being told that Vader is the most powerful but never being shown in the films or shows. Same with Anakin. He seemed immensely weak and often did little in both the films and shows. My problem with Star Wars is that they often lack showing or telling you anything. Like there’s so much lacking in storytelling and lore when it comes to George Lucas that I find all my information from random rudes in comment sections.

Ep 6 Luke would destroy Maul. First off, when Luke was getting electrocuted by Palpatine, he survived longer than Mace Windu did. Keep in mind that Palpatine in Ep 6 is prime Palpatine, MUCH stronger than he was before Order 66 (he gets a massive dark side buff during O66, which is why Yoda couldn’t beat him). So Luke already has a better feat than MACE WINDU, who beats Maul. Secondly, novels/guides CONFIRM that Luke was EQUAL to Vader in Episode 6. Luke also defeated the Grand Inquisitor BEFORE ESB. Not to mention, Obi Wan fought Vader, so he knew the extent of his power, and both he and Yoda in Episode 6 believed that Luke comparable to Vader to the point Yoda told Luke that the only way to become a Jedi is to beat Vader, which he thought was possible. Yoda: “No more training do you require, already know you that which you need.” In their minds, Anakin was already gone, so killing Vader was the only way. Before you say “Vader was holding back,” so was Luke. In the canon Jedi vs Sith guidebook they confirm this Their family bond affected their actions-each man was desperate to recruit the other rather than destroy him. BOTH men were holding back, yet they were both equal. "Father and son were now equally strong with the Force, and equally skilled with their lightsabers." -Jedi vs. Sith (2016) The canon narrator recently confirmed in the Skywalker: a Family at War that ROTJ Luke was straight up more powerful than Vader. “Palpatine savored the prospect of a front-row seat for the Empire’s final victory and a chance to gain a new, young, even more powerful apprentice.” This confirms that Luke was straight up stronger than Vader (at least when using the Dark Side). I'm sorry, who would be demolished with minimum effort? Darth Vader would mop the damn floor with Luke by OT standards. The only Luke I really see doing anything to Vader is maybe-MAYBE Mandalorian-era Luke, even then, it's Vader 7/10 times.

Also, Vader didn't fuck Luke up because Sidious ordered him to toy with Luke so Luke's dark side will tap through. Sidious didn't want Vader as his apprentice because he couldn't use force lightning, and wasn't as agile. He wanted Luke because he as comparable force abilities, yet he wasn't in a suit. I'm sorry, but even then, Luke was not the chosen one, so he couldn't even truly compare.

I mean, the guy was purposely put in a suit with no comfort/padding with the metal intermingling with his melted flesh. He had no hands, no legs, no ears, damaged eyes. Give the guy a break.
He is he just didnt try to kill luke even from the beginning
The most painful thing is being told that Vader is the most powerful but never being shown in the films or shows. Same with Anakin. He seemed immensely weak and often did little in both the films and shows. My problem with Star Wars is that they often lack showing or telling you anything. Like there’s so much lacking in storytelling and lore when it comes to George Lucas that I find all my information from random rudes in comment sections.

Ep 6 Luke would destroy Maul. First off, when Luke was getting electrocuted by Palpatine, he survived longer than Mace Windu did. Keep in mind that Palpatine in Ep 6 is prime Palpatine, MUCH stronger than he was before Order 66 (he gets a massive dark side buff during O66, which is why Yoda couldn’t beat him). So Luke already has a better feat than MACE WINDU, who beats Maul.
Secondly, novels/guides CONFIRM that Luke was EQUAL to Vader in Episode 6. Luke also defeated the Grand Inquisitor BEFORE ESB. Not to mention, Obi Wan fought Vader, so he knew the extent of his power, and both he and Yoda in Episode 6 believed that Luke comparable to Vader to the point Yoda told Luke that the only way to become a Jedi is to beat Vader, which he thought was possible.
Yoda: “No more training do you require, already know you that which you need.”
In their minds, Anakin was already gone, so killing Vader was the only way.
Before you say “Vader was holding back,” so was Luke.
In the canon Jedi vs Sith guidebook they confirm this
Their family bond affected their actions-each man was desperate to recruit the other rather than destroy him.
BOTH men were holding back, yet they were both equal.
"Father and son were now equally strong with the Force, and equally skilled with their lightsabers."

The canon narrator recently confirmed in the Skywalker: a Family at War that ROTJ Luke was straight up more powerful than Vader.
“Palpatine savored the prospect of a front-row seat for the Empire’s final victory and a chance to gain a new, young, even more powerful apprentice.”
This confirms that Luke was straight up stronger than Vader (at least when using the Dark Side).
Luke was also confirmed by Lucas to have inherited Anakin’s Force potential, which is why Palpatine knew Luke would surpass him where Vader failed to. Full potential Luke = Full potential Anakin > Emperor Palpatine > Ep 6 Luke = Prime Vader > Maul

Does anybody else notice that Vader could have caught cal but was looking at the dead storm troopers (possibly clones he knew) ? And that bought cal time. I know Vader missed the clones as it neared the end of his run and there were little to none left by the original trilogy

I'm sorry, who would be demolished with minimum effort? Darth Vader would mop the damn floor with Luke by OT standards. The only Luke I really see doing anything to Vader is maybe-MAYBE Mandalorian-era Luke, even then, it's Vader 7/10 times.

Also, Vader didn't fuck Luke up because Sidious ordered him to toy with Luke so Luke's dark side will tap through. Sidious didn't want Vader as his apprentice because he couldn't use force lightning, and wasn't as agile. He wanted Luke because he as comparable force abilities, yet he wasn't in a suit. I'm sorry, but even then, Luke was not the chosen one, so he couldn't even truly compare.

It wasn’t perfect and the fact it wasn’t particularly necessary to the grand scheme of things definitely held it back, we weren’t told anything we didn’t already know about Obi-Wan & Anakin. Otherwise it was lots of fun seeing Obi-Wan’s dynamic with Leia & the Organas plus the ending was awesome.
