I'd be worried that what this guy is buttering OP up for is becoming his second wife, assuming the divorce from the first one is real, so he could have more kids with her. I'd also remember one thing, unless something big happens, like an ex takes a cheater to the cleaner's in the break-up/divorce or the cheater gets to an age where their appeal starts to slip, you'll have to assume that if they cheated WITH you, they're going to cheat ON you once you're their main partner.

OP just need to go through her attorney for everything dealing with this guy. Give the check to her attorney and wait to hear from the courts. Don't give him an inch on anything, let the courts and her attorney do their jobs. Shut him down and tell him to keep talking through the app. Tell the attorney about all this from him, keep him in text and emails so it's in writing.

Hes already talking about changing the baby's name to his, like at this point it's too late to run, but the more she gives the more he takes. Absolutely needs to record everything and not let him start getting any inches in or before she knows it that baby will be bye bye.
He's more financially established. It's only a matter of time before he starts bribing the kid with toys and tickets to amusement parks and disney world and stuff. Shes gonna be the boring, regular parent and he's gonna be the fun parent. He's gonna have the kid on alternate holidays and she's going to be alone or with whoever she ends up with, and soon enough the kid will get older and he'll promise him things to spend more time with him and those "overnights" will be at her place, not his. He's gonna buy him a car and give him everything he needs financially and the kid is gonna leave her in the dust. This is how it starts.

This is so true, but also the fact that they agreed to be careful with introductions and he introduced himself as dad he’s going to start having conversations where she says can’t meet new girlfriend until I do and he’s gonna agree and new girlfriend is gonna ‘just so happen to stop by to grab something’ while the kid is there then they have already met so there is no need for mom to meet her and it’s fine for her to see him and they’ll meet before mom says OK. She says he can’t go to the amusement park or this concert. “oh, I already bought tickets and I can’t get a refund. I’ll just let him go anyway,” and it turns into mom not letting me do anythingbut dads rich and fun then he starts hearing stories about how his mom is a homewrecker and his ex-wife and their kids are around and they turn into a family because it sounds like ex-wife is still pretty heavily involved so there are family in another state while Mom is the homewrecker away from it all

There was a nice period of time before the wife found out and after the affair where she should have got him to give up rights to the kid. He probably would have signed those papers fast to sweep her under the rug. Now it's too late.

If you willingly and deliberately give up your child and say you want nothing to do with it, after having tried to force the mother to have an ab*rtion no less, and blowing up at her when she refused, then you should have absolutely no legal right to that child if you change your mind years later. It's absurd. He's only back now that his ex wife divorced him, which proves that he doesn't have the baby's best interest at heart. Had he truly cared he would have reached out much sooner.
