How will sabeleye and medicam be on them?? Very few people use it because they might not be lvl 40 for xl or they don’t have one. I’m thinking azu, defense deoxys, g stun, bastidon, skarmory, etc
Medicham would be legal being it has the 2 of the original 15 typings

I love running into this team, the only win condition this team has against me is very heavy lag.
Shadow Machamp, Bastiodon and Altaria. It beats this team 100% of the time.

In which case medicham farms down and either kills machamp leaving you altaria vs bastiodon or triple ice punches altaria, swap to bast so you bring back machamp then medicham beats machamp and ice punch altaria ftw doesn’t require lag, just almost perfect alignment
@@acelilumelody4445 if they swap in Sableye, you use Bastiodon. Just match their shields. You will end up with a very low HP Bastiodon. Medicham can’t farm down enough. Altaria wil survive enough ice punches to take down Medicham.
I have played the encounter over a dozen times. Every time it worked. And it works because on the switch it is easy to basically match shields and win with low HP left. Using a harder counter on either switch would indeed give a problem. These are just perfect that you only need to match shields, never needing to shield first.
Swap in Bastiodon to lure out the stunfisk... so that Medicham has enough room to farm :O

How are they not XL? Cannot reach those CP at 40 even with 100iv for Sableye and Medicham.

@@jeffrhodes8103 Yeah the Azu did a total of 17 bubbles. 6 before the first PR, 6 before the second PR (so 1 extra), and 5 before the third, plus the 1 extra it already had makes 6.
I was coming back to watch this video to see how you used this team, as I remember watching this before and I wanted new ideas. But then I IMMEDIATELY ran into this team in between little pauses of the video but with Return Sableye instead. I somehow managed to win with Nidoqueen lead then Return Sableye and Scrafty. I'm sure if it were you playing you would've crushed me, though, haha.

Bastiodon
Altaria
There is no play that Zyonik team can do to win if you just play it safe:
Bastiodon suffers the hardest lead loss it has to switch.
If you see Sable eye come in play Bastiodon and simply match shields.
If Medicham comes in throw in Altaria and match shields. You will survive the first ice punch.
Congratz you won the switch. And you won it with low health on your pokemon.
If opponent played Sableye Medicham will now come in to finish off Bastiodon. But there are probably max 2 counters needed. Altaria will come in and can take an ice punch. Either taking a shield or finish of Medicham before the second punch. Either way as soon as either Altaria goes down or Medicham you can come back in with Machamp to finish it off.
If opponent played Medicham, most likely Bastiodon will finish it off. But only gets 2 or 3 fast moves on Altaria. Machamp can hard farm on Bastiodon come out full of energy for Sableye and low hp so no farming.
Easiest wins possible.
With that many lead disadvantages you had with Bastiodon, wouldn't a Sableye lead do better on average?
Both sableye and medicham are weak against fairy, sableye in the back then swap can bait out stuff you don't want to see. If put bastiodon in the back, a fairy lead and fighter switch in will destroy this team
@@jasonyewyuenwai5792 There aren't that many Fairy leads right now in the G-L (as shown by his matches) and if you are worried by that scenario then it is the same outcome if the opponent's fairy was waiting in the back as a counter to a Sableye switch
Can you try Alolan Persian? Its Play Rough is extremely unexpected and you can get some great plays!
It's fast moves are scratch & bite right? Unfortunately both a little slow to gain energy

I tried Bastiodon, Jumpluff, Tropius this morning - first match was against a fighter, and double fire. Sigh.
I am in process to making that team in triple XL version with rank 10 or less PVP rating each. Since the lvl 50 was announced i started to make that team because it is broken on stats alone.
I hope I can get a good iv shadow Sableye, this team is awesome!

Currently trying to set up this team, just recently got a 100 purified sableye, 100 medicham, and a 15/15/14 bastiodon
This team is still hella relevant in 2022, I tried this team and I tried it with Nidoqueen on lead instead of Bastiodon (for those fairy types) and I can say it’s a pretty decent replacement but the air are way harder to take down so power gem on Sableye is your go to, but if it’s skarmory then throw foul plays

I swept this team last week. Used an obstagoon, wigglypuff, registeel lead with bastidon focus blast finish. It was TOO close though.
I like the team but I don't have XL Medicham, so I tried Pelipper in its place, since it still picks up wins on Azumarill and Galarian Stunfisk, as well as winning the mirror match against this exact team, and I've been seeing success already!

I found out a 10 cp weedle with bug bite and struggle can beat any pokemon.

Now I have pretty high ranks for both a return sableye and a shadow sableye. Granted, I can't power either up high enough, but I'm glad to see some strong play for them
Played this team today. Rank 1 XL Medi and a slightly XL Return Sableye. Started at 2432 and dropped all the way back to 2299 😂 even if you discount the lags I would’ve gone negativ for the day because I saw a boatload auf Obstagoon + Double Charm and a bunch auf Swampert + Skarmory which is not really winable when the opponents are good 😅
A few weeks have passed since release of this video, team doesn‘t do anything anymore

how do u get these mons to 1500? all 3 of them require like 200 candy to power up like no matter what :(
From this video you can see that none of his mons are level 50 - they are all extremely high IVs, so they are more likely just over level 40. Zyonik has prooved here that you can still win a lot of games without having anywhere near ideal mons - so I wouldn't worry too much about getting them to L50.
@@Duderantula All three of these moms best stat products for level 40 have the higher IVs. They’re near perfect unless you wanna go for XL
I've been playing with this team for a little while but I can't figure out what to do against Shadow Swampert, which is a very common pick. It basically wrecks this entire team single-handedly. You can do fast move damage, but Swampert gets to Hydro Cannons faster than Sableye and Medicham get to moves, and they can just burn your shields and still land a Hydro Cannon when I'm unshielded. Because Shadow Swampert is so common I don't see how this team can be viable. Any advice? Apologies if this is mentioned in the video, I have not had the time to watch all the way through.
A lot of teams get bad because of the meta
Try another team next time or just try another method to counter
I've been using Armaldo Dragonite Jolteon for ultra league they aren't even max ivs or level or anything and I find that its super strong I can willingly get a 10 win streak easy in a half hour
Edit. Dialga is pretty good for dragonite but ONLY if you have draco meteor not discharge

Love this answer to skarm safe swap. Did you play these matches this season? No venusaur 0-1 swampert (can't remember if ya saw one) no jellicent, crazy lol. Love the team though. Side note swampert/venu leads do really well against these basti teams, basically you have to drop a charge move on Sab with your lead then swap to protect switch advantage

Same I just played against a variation of this team with umbreon instead of sab. All I remember is I landed a focus blast on their bastidon and they quit once I swapped scrafty into their umbreon 😂

Literally just ran into this team in the very next match I battled. Beat it with Gfish lead, I swapped into peliper and shielded the power gem and then had vigoroth to close.

Sableye might be the best safe swap in the game. Been trying to power one up to a viable CP to use but them candies take forever to farm.

best way to farm candies is to purposely lose matches, get your elo to 1K minimum and then crush all the noobs lmao thank me later

I’ve been running basically a similar team for the past couple of seasons my medicham is level 47 48 with best buddy my sableeye at the moment is 41 42 with best CP is only 1398 on sable eye until I get more XL candies instead of bastiodon I run azumaril in the back level 45 instead and medicham in the lead and use sableeye as my safe swap I might give bastiodon a try tho
Got a shiny lucky Medichan from a trade awhile back. IVs were not good but now with XL candies will be able to get him very close to 1500cp, only 100 XL candy or so to go.
i stay in on azmarill lead, beause they usally run play rough and ice beam
Invested some big stardust into making this team. First time all season I've gone 5/5, even with a lot of blunders....
I've been running a very unique set, 3-4 wins per round haha
Lanturn with water gun to counter stunfisk, talonflame(80% lead every time I battle in rank 12+) and bastiodon.
Then Venusaur for fairies and mud bois
And... Drapion xD with ice fang , chomping down any grass switch to my lead lols
Is ice punch on the medicham necessary for this team to work, or could power up punch be used instead?
@Zyonik I would love to use this team. Unfortunately I live in rural area so getting the candy/dust to get these pokemon up that high is pretty impossible for me. And then I figure by the time I do get the candy and whatnot they won’t be meta anymore. It’s hard to be sub lvl 40 and rural with the go battle league. I made it to almost rank 22 last season but I couldn’t get the train rolling in the end of season meta. Thanks for all the tips in your videos! Watching your channel has helped me to learn so much about gbl.

It's going to take awhile but funny enough after 2 years this is still a great team to use. Make them your buddy walk with them daily you'll get candy and XL candies of your buddy and best buddies. I know a good friend of mine like a year ago now, when he got his Shundo Blastidon it took him 8 months of it being his buddy and walking him and then he gotten enough XL's basti to max him out. I'm sure you got enough candies for all of them now with events UwU
my bastiodon is 600 cp😬. from the incense day ill get a lot of candy and invest in a good pvp iv one because it will take like 300 total candy

I’m running this team this season cause I’m trying to make legend and I’m not as good as most legend rank players so I kind of need to be carried a bit. So far wins haven’t been that free for me with this team. Guess it’s a sign of how poorly I play overall. I have no idea how to deal with Nidoqueen, especially when she’s in the lead, and I have no idea how to deal with Venusaur, and those two seem to be everywhere.
Your battles are so great you make this sableye look better then purified. Well back to powering up my 1252 cp purified sableye (around that cp) requires over 150 candies for 1500 cp.

Not too different, but try toxicroak on the lead, bastiodon and sableye on the back. I’ve seen some pretty positive results

I think it has a super fun moveset but it's lack of bulk and not having a extremely high energy gaining fast move holds it back.

Obviously, return sableye is pretty dang good in great league, so I definitely don't plan to change that, but should I use power gem or foul play for the second charged move?

Great video! This team seems to run much more safe than the ABB Bastiodon Toxicroak Medicham line
This team has no answer for a swampert lead, and I saw that in 4 out of 5 battles in my last set. It also has no answer for a charmer in the back. I have tried it the other way around with medicham in the lead and it deals with swampert better, but if you see a charm in the lead, you might as well surrender straight off.
Man my Shadow Hypno+Double Dark ran into this yesterday and I thought no way I win this, then my opponent took the thunder punch bait faking a focus blast on basti and then he switched into Sableye for whatever reason, handing me the match (I swapped into scrafty and steam rolled his team including Medicham just with Power-up-Punches, Scrafty survived with red HP and could delete basti with 3-4 counters)...couldnt believe his swap. Especially in terms of facing Scrafty I would really recommend return on Sableye and PuP on Medicham, otherwise a Scrafty in the back especially with Hypno Double Dark poses a problem for this team as you can bait out the Medicham with your Umbreon safe swap and soften it up.
I have a hard time beating this team but I counter it pretty good I think. I usually run Meganium, azu, bastiodon.

If there's anyone wondering if they should wait to get XL candies for sableye don't. I purified a 13/13/15 shadow sableye that I caught in the first week of this season and purified to make it a hundo. I still have yet to get a single XL candy for it despite catching at least a handful more shadow sableye's since. A hundo will do just fine. I have a super meta team right now using it and while I do have some not so fun sets, I am loving it still right now!

This team can be counter by double charm team, which is swampert, Ninetales, and wigglipuff

I easily defeated this XL team using my team: scrafty on lead vs bastiodon on lead , he quickly changed to medicham and I also changed to wigglypuff landing only one ice punch on me totaly destroying XL medicham , now came bastiodon who got my wigglypuff and I use scrafty again and landed three power up punches using his two shields an mine 1 shield because of flamethrower and next came sableye who I almost got by dark pulse and using my final shield beacuse of gemstone . And finishing sableye with power up punch.
