- Today I'm running what is arguably the best great league team of all time. It comes at no surprise since I'm using Bastiodon, Medicham and Sableye, all XL top meta Pokemon for the Great Leauge. They are some of the best Pokemon in the Great League Meta that you should be collecting in Pokemon GO!

seeing you build pvp pokemon with non ideal stats is always so reassuring for some of those harder to get pokemon
Yeah they were built years ago while I continue to prep the best I've ones with XL candy. So they work for now

Yeah I’d been stuck in the Ace rank more for seasons because I liked to try all the cups. But I just played 3 straight weeks of ultra league using the same team (Hax, Cress, Sylveon) so I got comfortable with matchups. Plus a bunch of people have been trying out Poliwrath and Greninja, so the timing of the meta worked out really well having a fairy back line

This is my absolute favorite Great League team! I watched you talk about this core the from the beginning and have been using it ever since. Huge thank you!
I did this very team (spend some dust into power up a bastiodon) in 2800, 4 sets so far, 8 deoxys lead (which corebrokes basti and medicham), 5 medicham lead, and 1 gengar lead with focus blast. Droped 150 points. That's just insane on probabilities.
LOVE THIS TEAM!! Been running it as much as possible just swept two sets earlier this morning. 💪

I ran this from 2150-2660 but with a shundo Sableye, the shadow made the Medi matchup way better and the power gem surprised some flyers
I have tried this team each season you feature it, and I just never go positive with it. Love your enthusiasm though!
I think it would be like 1.5 million dust to make this team but it looks good!
Around 300 k per pokemon to Around 1500 cp and three second move which are 75 k per pokemon. So you're right

I got a normal Sableye with very good IVs without Return. If only purified pokemons could learn Return with max friendship 😭
I use Trev as my Ghost for better Water coverage and less Charm weakness. Basti/Medi/Ghost (or pseudo-Ghost like Licki) is always effective.
I love the whole “this Pokémon counters this!!1” comments because it’s like… yes, that’s how a meta game works. If there was a team with zero counter play matchups, it would be a horribly unhealthy, over centralized meta. When people point out there are counters, it’s like saying “this is a meta game!” Which… yes… congratulations?
Finally have the XL of all three with good pvp ivs. May have to give it a try. Having more fun in ultra league right now though.

Hey man, I've been running this team most seasons since I saw your first video on it. Quick question, in that video I recall that you originally swapped out into Saybleye straight away if you saw an azu lead, I notice now you stay in with Bastiodon, is there a particular reason for the change in strategy?

Hahahaha I literally just build my XL bastiodon and was so happy to use it. So I immediately went in to the great league without changing moveset and even forgot to double move my basti 😂😂 #fail. But I love this team! 💛💛
Hope they aren’t always part of the meta, with the devs saying they are ready to spice things up at worlds I’m hoping for some bees to top meta Pokémon, Medicham needing increased energy for moves like they did to trev and a few others could use it as well
Two questions: 1. Could you sub g-fisk for bastiodon? 2. What do you do about fairy types? I won 10 in a row with this team & then got wrecked by a shadow granbull...twice.

I have a rank one medicham and a rank two bastiodon but sadly don’t have a good purified sableye I’ve been waiting for it to come back to rocket balloons it’s been a while

In great league, sceptile-greninja-charizard has been working alright for me. Is it really a good team? Because Im at lvl 25 now
As much as i respect you for what you do the only way this mode is not rigged is if you have perfect iv mon ask yourself where are the pokemon you dont see and the ones you do over and over again

Basti is so much more common now that we had the recent spawns for it. 😂
Medi is so busted right now with all the Basti and ABB teams trying to lure out Medi for Greninja.
Scrafty eats those teams for lunch.
I’ve also seen a few of these teams that try to bait out Medi to set up Greninja in the back. I’m ready too, with my S-Vic….😂😂
Man GBL right now is Zyonic and Zonkus releasing video the day after the whole meta is that team 🥲 feels like only running counters to those teams

I had a 0/14/13 shadow sableye and i purified it is 2/15/15 now and i tried to get the XL but it's so hard
I keep getting medicham leads into this team and I can't beat the team I'm switching Into sableeye and they respond with something that does well into sableeye and it's feelsbadman
i have a bastiodon (not xl) and a medicham (xl) with pvp iv and a 4* sableye with return (is powered up) should i power up the medicham and bastiodon and give them extra moves or should i wait for a xl bastiodon?
XL Bastiodon has insane bulk. Really makes it shine in neutral matchups but in unfavorable matchups can provide more farm for the opponent

Hi ZyoniK, I really like your videos. One can learn a lot :) Maybe you can help me out. Couple of days ago I've cached apparently a perfect iv Meditie 41515. After evolving it a Medichamp can be powered up only up to 1451. Is it because I'm level 38 trainer (started playing this march)? Thnx in advance!!!
Yes mate it needs to be xl so you need to get your trainer level up to 40 first.

there were 2 battles here where zyonik won from winning cmp tie with his high attack weighted medi, i think that just goes to show that having amazing pvp ivs isn’t everything
I like my IVs to be a bit attack weighted when I’m using popular meta Pokémon for exactly this reason, the mirror match is sooo common and it ends up being useful more often than high bulk IVs
I have the Pokémon. I have the best IV’s. I am no where near the amount of XL candy needed :C

@@ZyoniK_Pokemon did Medi, Licki, Basti a while. What’s the reasoning behind Basti lead? I have experienced a lot of counters to it in the lead.
@@ZyoniK_Pokemon I thought a bit and realized that it becomes ABB where Sableye can draw out flyers, and also that you can switch both Sable and Medi depending on the lead. I might try this team! 😊
Why is XL Pokémon better or why do you want an XL bass?
XL is referring to XL candy, aka Pokemon above level 40. At one point level 40 was the max and pokemon with good IVs when 40 was the max, are not as good as the pokemon with good IVs at XL levels usually around 48-50

Haha the early comment about how commenters find 1 pokemon that does well against a team and says well this team cant beat X pokemon... DUH. There is no team that has no weakness lol. Doesnt mean a team isnt good though. Silly
Unfortunately, this team is being less and less consistent with Carbink and Greninja taking over the meta. Maybe you are just lucky because I love this team, but it hasn't been working for the last 2 seasons for sure.
Can someone pelase explain to me: all these sites telling me to get low attack IV's and so I grind for them, and then here he uses high attack on bastidon? And max atk on medichamp wich my site tells me I should get 5 atk and max stats on the others? What is going on here?
These IVs are just bad, probably already built these pokemon before XL candy was released
Yeah he has had the medi and bastio since the early days before XL. Lvl 40 Medi with 15/15/15 is 1431 rank 1 and lvl 40 Bastio at 13/15/12 is like rank 29, 1498 cp (his bastio)

Keep it in case Sableye ever gets access to different charge moves. That being said with how strong and his usage being so high he most likely never will. It's not great without return

His aren't either that medicham is probably lvl 43
His aren't as well, specially medicham and bastiodon are less than halfway 40/50
If you wanna use a team like this which costs lots of stardust you might consider to wait till you obtain the right IVs / XL candy’s so your investment gonna be worth it. The different breakpoints each Pokémon can obtain have to be considered as well because it can decide over winning or losing a specific matchup

Yeahhhh this team sucks to play… I’ve been looking to find good counters to Medicham but then freakin bastiodon is there to counter a lot of them and Sabelye too. Basically we need more pkm that can use fairy charge attacks for medicham and sabelye but there are rarely any that are bulky enough

@@donii7092 different letters means different types. A in this case is bastiodon. B being medicham and C is sableye where non of them share a type. ABB is where the two Pokemon in the back share a type and the lead being strong against the biggest threat to them

Why this choice of IV's for bastiodon and medicham? They are definitely those considered optimal for PvP
I had them built already before level 50 update, so I'm working on getting more xl candy to power up my better pvp ivs

How do everyone that I face have these pokemon? I feel like they are extremely hard to get with the amount of xl candy needed /gbl noob
Also what does xl Pokémon mean? Does it have to be XL (high weight) or just need XL candy to power up? Or mix
In this scenario XL means a Pokemon above level 40 aka you need XL candy to power them up. And these pokes are very long/hard to power up. The GBL community has tons of players that have been playing for years or many cases since release of GBL. For new players good like. I'm a medium player and have a really good Sableye fully powered, Medi needs 56 more XL and a 15/15/15 Bastiodon I powered up before XL came out

@@Soggyschnitzel69 Yeah it's unfortunate. The main series games have been making the cost of entry go down with every generation, but as time goes on the cost of entry goes up with PoGo GBL. IMO this game will never be a real "esport" until they make it WAYYY easier to get into.

Why would it be? The PoGo world champ this year best buddied all of his 6 Pokemon he used in tournament.
