Well done. So many options available in Luminar AI. One can spend a few minutes or a few hours editing a photo. Thanks again for the Day 3 video. A lot to remember.
Every one of your tutorials reinforces the fact that purchasing AI was one of the smartest things I have ever done. In playing with the program I had the sky replacement bleed into the image. It happened in part of the image that was over exposed. I take it that there isn’t a way to fix that when the horizon isn’t well defined? Love the Hong Kong image but I probably would have stopped after the mist. Looked amazing. How often do you apply texture? I love it but i fear it makes a landscape more like fine art than reality. Can’t wait to work on this. At some future date I would love to see how you attack your images. I’m sure when you capture a scene you are looking for a specific look. When you see the image open in AI I want you to say, this is Hong Kong harbor I wanted to convey “this “. Here is our out of camera and I’m going to use AI to achieve “this” so here is my work flow. That texture face covering comment...somehow I think that little Darlene in the left hand corner can see my face.
To answer the sky question, yes you can adjust it by playing with the sky local and sky global sliders. If it still isn't perfect you can mask it manually off the areas you do not want it applying.
Thank you Darlene, loving every minute of these tutorials & doing editing like I never did before. I have my photos from day 1& 2 I'm working on 3 but don't know how to send them. Thank you Catherine Mullakkey
You are so welcome! Send them? Do you mean share your finished ones? You need to post them on the website article for this day. www.digitalphotomentor.com/photo-editing-challenge-day-3-getting-creative-luminar-ai/

Update: we've been offline for a few hours due to techincal issues and Darlene is catching up on some sleep. She'll reply when she's a little more rested.
I received a comment back from anatasia at skylum regarding the feathering brush in dodge and burn. According to her the feathering is not available with the dodge and burn tool. I told them you demonstrated it. She asked me to send the video. Perhaps you can reach out. I didn’t want to over step my bounds by sending your content . I’m a bit confused at this point
Hello, great video series! I’ve found that when I add different skies, I’ll get a lot of grain or noise in them. I’ve for the most part stopped adding my own or other packs I’ve bought as they all seem to be of different quality. Is there a way to to clean the noise out without spending a lot of time? I mainly do real estate photography and it gets tedious in some scenes. I’m definitely interested in your pack. Thanks.
Did you possibly use the Sky Enhance sliders? Check all of the tools you've applied and make sure it's just not pulling the image too far. Also did you try exporting it and it came out noisy there as well? Just check that to see if it's only on the screen or if it's in the actual file.
I’m new to luminar ai and have been experimenting with cloud replacement. All of my replacements have a white rectangular blob just to the right of center. Any thoughts?
It's your favorite pain in the butt. I really got myself wrapped around the axle here. I did all of lesson 3. Awesome as usual. I was given a free 5 image sky replacement from Skylum as well as your 2 in lesson 3. I watched a youtube video where the dude placed his own sky images in the folder: Program Files>Skylum>Luminar AI>profiles>Sky textures. I dropped the 5 image folder and your 2 into the Sky textures folder. When I go into the Sky AI, I'm not seeing any of these 7 new sky replacements. I know there in the Sky textures folder, but I just cannot see them in the normal listing of skies that came with AI. When I scroll down on the Sky AI tab and to find the "load Custom sky image" it loads a folder. Is that the tab where I should create a folder for these 7 new sky images? I'm just confused at this point. The RUclips demonstration for custom sky replacement had the new files show up immediately in the pull down tab. What would you do without me? Thank you!!!!!
@@DigitalPhotoMentor thank you I thought I tried that but I’ll try again tomorrow I’m having an anxiety attack. You have been to some amazing places . It's possible that Luminar AI isn't detecting that your image has a sky at all. Go to the Enhance AI tool (the very first one in the Essentials area at the top" and see if the Sky Enhancer slider is also grayed out for you?

Forward me her email. Dodge and burn has to have feathering otherwise it's useless
It's right in their user guide. Send her this link manual.skylum.com/ai/en/topic/dodge-burn-tool
I've been told by my Skylum contacts that is should indeed work and if it doesn't to please report it as a bug.
