Note to self, create a dungeon with a magical seal guarded by a magical seal.
The seal looks at the adventurers with large cute eyes. It speaks, it's voice low yet silly, "Fe fi fo fum, if you want to pass through this door, you have to face my challenge!"
* summons a CR 40 boss *
It’s definitely BuckWurd mech assault time… I’m sure of it
"Stand by for titan fall" frfr

Not all heroes wear capes 💛
Yeah because all the ones that "wore" capes are dead. Getting that shit caught in and on everything. Lamearses NEVER wear a cape unless it's Star Wars, like Darth Vader and many others the cape material was made out of lightsaber resistant and helped protected against heat, blaster rounds and caustic acid damage or gunk and oil from being around extreme industrial machines and Lukerhulks.@@t.h.mcelroy6597
Prabath: Hindi word meaning "dawn, morning, brilliant".
Also, nice touch with the disappearing ghosts, they reminded me of the Ancient phantoms from Amaurot.
I'm loving this series so far, you're a great storyteller and the cast is phenomenal.
Love the Darksoulsian/Hollowknight turn it took at the end there. The best atmospheres are mysterious, tragic and suspenseful
Love these sessions, Jo! You've given me so many ideas for my own campaign I'm planning.
Everytime I hear Moonbeam now I can't stop thinking about the goddamn Moonbeam Microwave
Thanks, Corridor
I had a shirt form the early 90's that had "Moon Beam and Sweet Deams on it" or something like that... that shirt is history now unfortunately.
Once again DEMANDING that the JoCat campaign OSTs be publicly released!
54:53 As a ranger enthusiast, I'm in tears on the floor at the fact that their d10 hit dice is being ignored. It's already bad enough that no one uses their medium armour proficiency.
It would probably get used more if Breastplate was a more common item in campaigns. Disadvantage on stealth kinda feels bad on a ranger.
Congratz on the campaign guys, excellent play from the DM and PLAYERS
This episode should've been called 'Going Buckwurds'.

Oh yeah. It’s buckward time
Witherlings pop up.
Laira, Wurd and Fritz: NOPE NO JUTSU!
We need a mecha combiner theme song for Buck and Wurd now.
Buck was great this session
The LORE! The CLIFFHANGER!! OMG I'm so hype for the next session!!!
and I JUST caught up with this series today! :D
The fact rangers get acess to misty step is my favorite thing.
Not all rangers, Fritz has the horizon walker conclave so they have access to spells a regular ranger wouldn't.
this has been the first D&D campaign i've had the patience to watch
I like the 2 hour length. It’s hard to invest in a campaign with 4 hour episodes. Dimension 20 has similar run times if you ever feel like checking them out.
@@emperortime4380 Just an extra 2 more hours the f is your deal, noob? That's like saying you can watch the anime opening and outro music but not the anime itself. Pathetic can't you just X2 speed that shit, consume a 4 hour video in half the time, but I guess you're too boring for that simple function on YT, just like the Download feature or the save or even the Cut feature.
Ohoho! The plot becomes more and more interesting... Hah, it was a really enjoyable session. Amazing
Interesting two-parter. The combat felt genuine, the monsters present at first were things you'd expect in that environment, that's not always easy to get down pat.
The follow-up combat was a good showcase of creative solutions for the sprung trap, and the enemies having a buff when grouped up made for a fair increase in difficulty, since the players could interact with said buff. There was a slight error on Thunderwave, that one originates from yourself and isn't targeted, but as it turns out the end result was pretty much the same, you can handwave that by saying the third enemy hit was taken out by shrapnel from the other two. I'm also not sure if that particular kind of Druid can shapeshift as a bonus action, but with the limitations it has out of the box there's nothing wrong with rule of funning that one. Might become problematic on later levels, but unlikely with the playstyle Red's going for. Buckwurd was, again, great use of resources, definitely something to take notes on.
Edit: checked the PHB, apparently any cube-shaped spell has its origin point on one of the sides, not the centre of the cube. So yeah, stand corrected on that one, perfectly valid use of the spell.
The correct use of the word 'sigil' is also highly appreciated. The markings used there aren't quite the stereotype of a sigil (they're usually a little more complicated, more crop circle-y shape), but it is technically correct, if you care about that sort of thing. Thank you for not calling them runes, JoCat.
And speaking of which... so we have two kingdoms, one of which is Elynthi, and both of which appear to have an eye-related sigil as their banner. One looks like an open eye looking down, the other is an eye with eyelids and eyelashes, if turned sideways. Both using eye symbolism implies a common ancestor, but one is open, the other can close (assuming it is that in the first place, of course). One seeking to reveal secrets, perhaps, the other guarding them jealously. We've seen the blot use eye-related psychic attacks, so there's a connection there, but what? Tin-foil hat's coming up a blank on that one. Best I can guess is that there was at least one dragon who turned on the other four and had his own kingdom. It might mean Treviscetta is trying to fix a mistake from the past, then, with their increasing influence.
Bit of conjecture, probably reading too much into this, but: the Life Tree's following an interesting pattern with elements now that we're out of Saccia, but Saccia itself doesn't have an elemental influence. We had the gems provided by the roots (Earth) and the water in Pallitrios. Water represents adaptability, which fits invention, Earth represents material focus and growth, which fits a gambling town obsessed with gold, sort of? We know the town with Fritz' mom is heavy on arcane use, so if it is following a five elements theme, that'd be Air (intellect), the obvious influence being a lot of windmills to grind down grains or ingredients for alchemy. Meaning Trevisetta would be Fire, representing passion and personality, Charisma, perhaps? If this is the theme, we're gonna see the factories run on magical heat provided by the tree, endless magical magma is the obvious choice there. And that would mean Saccia is Spirit, the galvanising element, which would explain why they're the ones sending the pilgrims.
But then that would also imply, if that is how this setting works, this other kingdom was taking advantage of one of the provided elements, and was then deprived of it. They're closest to the water now, sure, but the environment could have changed drastically, and an attack or just a re-routing of the roots could have changed that.
TLDR. Now shorten that and paraphrase it all if you want me to read it, kay Saruman the Stinky.
"60ft of blindsight down this hole" sounds like a set up for a dirty joke.
So happy that Dustin Echoes could make a cameo
Dust and Echos. Ebon Flow (go look up that banger of a song)
Alright, this Blod situation is getting messy.
As we can see in this episode, people from Elynthi were in these ruins at some point or another. Confirmation of this might be a construct that was made in the past (weak soul crystal as an example). And, as we heard from the ghost, they were pretty mad at Elynthi for some reason (possibly the whole genocide of their kind??).
The most important thing is the words of humanoid Blod: "We were here before".
So... let's get this straight:
For some reason, there was a war between Elynthi and another kingdom/kind. War so BAD and BIG what both sides use constructs and warforge. At some point, one of the sides (possibly Elynthi) used Blod as a weapon, and by doing so, they sealed the victory. And now memories/souls of forgotten kingdom/kind reanimating as Blod to get their revenge on Elynthi...
Dude, that's HARD!
Always anticipating these episodes, love the amazing character moments! Hoping for more :)
Jocat, i love what you're doing here, but PLEASE release the full streams on jocat streams, i love these, and i wanna see att the rough around the edges unpolished stuff for episodes 8-14 too

BuckWurd is awesome! Also, is the Blod a hivemind of a vengeful civilization?
Getting some Danmachi vibes from the Dungeon Crawl part....

Hi! Just started watching the series and I love it! My favourite is obviosly The Boss! (Boss! Boss! Boss!)
While I am here, quick question, what is the program used to show the map, rolls etc?
Roll20 is the software being used
The “Boss!” chants are always so hype

Hey if you don't mind me asking, do you have any guidance for someone trying to get their campaign on youtube as well? All the videos I've (on a separate channel) uploaded from my campaign have fallen flat and it's kinda disheartening. Also, nice video.
Well blame YT revenue, recommended algorithm and many more Corpo shits.
