Hey Keith, thanks for doing these. I almost always see something I haven’t seen that’s going to be released. I currently have 14, 4K’s on pre-order which I almost can’t believe but you know how it is if you don’t pre-order, you might not get it these days. Almost can’t believe You haven’t seem to catch a thief but you’re in for a treat it’s one of my favorites and it should look incredible. Some great outdoor scenes some really cool night scenes. Can’t wait to see it in 4K.
Drove from Detroit area to Chicago about a 5 1/2 hour drive to go to the movies and of course, to visit a friend🙂 there is a theater, the music box. It’s a historical theater built in 1929 anyways they show real film prints almost every weekend This particular weekend they were showing a new 70 mm print from the restored 4K of North by Northwest, and it looked absolutely incredible. That 4K disc might set a new standard for Alfred Hitchcock movies I guess we’ll see and I certainly can’t wait. Also that afternoon they had the restored 4K version also first time in a 70 mm film print of John Wayne The Searchers also incredible. Can’t wait for this 4K to be announced the Blu-ray looks incredible as well. If you haven’t watched it yet put it on your shortlist. hope all is well. Have a great one.👍
Hey John. First off it's my absolute pleasure to do videos like this and from the sounds of things it's doing exactly what I was hoping they would be doing and making people aware of releases that they weren't aware of beforehand.
I'm not one bit surprised to hear that North by northwest looks as good as it did in the cinema because it's one of those movies that's always had a great showing on every single format it's on and I'm sure like you said it's going to be a benchmark for 4K transfers from Alfred Hitchcock. I haven't checked out the searchers and I will definitely hold off in the hope that there will be a 4K release. If I'm going to see it I may as well see it in the best possible way. Super hyped for that Neverending Story book set. Everything about it just looks immaculate. If the restoration on the US/Intl cut is anywhere near as nice as the German one that came out previously, we're in for a treat visually - and it's great that both versions will be available together for comparing. I've also watched the trailer for the new documentary and it looks like there's a ton of good content in that; the current state of the Falcor puppet, actor interviews, testimonials, even a look at a megafan's collection of memorabilia. Plus it seems there's over an hour of deleted scenes from that doc, and some new features for the film itself, so we're going to be eating good long after the film is over
I know it's a very expensive Edition but you are getting a lot for your money. I really do hope they deliver on the 4K transfer because the bar has been set very high with that German release. I can't get over how fantastic that 4K transfer looks on that Edition and it's great to see that it's featured on this release as well. I never thought I would ever own such a release for The NeverEnding Story. I cannot wait to get it in my hands

@michaeldonnelly92 Hocus Pocus is also part of our October list. For some strange reason we always watch it with The Burbs and High Spirits. Probably my favourite time of year as well.
I had to sit on it for 12 hours and do some debating with myself, but just had to pre-order the Neverending Story LE. No way I was gonna miss out on that. Also ordered Dredd 4k LE from Imprint. They are also releasing a beautiful box of Convoy, but it would have been too much this time around. Opted to pre-order the steelbook from your video and Trick r Treat as well.

I'm so happy to hear that you pre-ordered The NeverEnding Story edition. I know it's expensive Sebastian but how often will you get the chance to own a replica of the book from the movie. Just like yourself there was no way I could turn it down. Yeah I seen that box set of convoy but just like yourself I opted for the Steelbook edition. It's saving me a bit of money as well. As for Inception and interstellar I still haven't received any information on my end. As a matter of fact I checked my orders and it's still down for the 16th of September. I even went on to Warner Brothers website and it's still down for the 16th on that as well. I have no idea what the hell is going on.

Most expensive 4K item I’ve purchased to date, but like you say, it’s a childhood favourite for me also and had to get it. The bonus disc includes a ‘Life After’ the film documentary with several of the actors, makers, crew which is superb. I’m also looking forward to pre-ordering the 4K release of American Pie, from 88 Films, which is up for pre-order next week. Hey Adam. Great to hear that you pulled the trigger on The NeverEnding Story. I know it's a very expensive Edition but look what you are getting. A replica of the actual book from the movie. Never in a million years did I think I would own something like that and I honestly cannot wait to get it in my hands. I really need to pre-order that edition of American Pie. It's my favourite in the series but I have to admit it would have been great to see the other three movies get the 4K treatment. Fingers crossed it will happen in time. Hey Keith, I have ordered the Beetlejuice box set from KOSM for £32 plus postage and it is still available. Of the other one's you mentioned I have preordered To Catch A Thief box set £34.99 and that really nice looking Convoy steelbook at £29.99. I am waiting on the Terminator 4k edition, hopefully we'll get a standard release with a slip cover with better artwork. Take care both of you. Gaz.
Like I said in the video Gary the Beetlejuice edition is €30 so that's around £25. Definitely worth looking into if you want to save a few quid. It goes without saying but I'm still in shock. But even if he didn't get it for me I was always going to order it myself and I hope you pick it up as well. Yeah unfortunately when it comes to paramount they never seem to want to put Steelbook in with their releases. At least the collector's edition of North by northwest will have the Steelbook inside

Some really nice releases on the way Keith, I like The Ring edition in the form of a video cassette. Keith, I can not believe you have never seen Convoy, I love that movie, I think you will enjoy that one. I wasn't keen on Late night with the Devil, for me a bit over rated. Trick R Treat looks a nice edition, I knew you would be getting that one. The Never Ending Story is way too pricey, I have it already in 4K but the strange thing is it doesn't have the theme song in it, it's different music, I think it was a German release. I hope Terminator transfer is better than the sequel. Talking of Eli Roth, I watched Borderlands today. Its a one time watch and clearly all the actors were there for the paycheck.
So when it comes to the NeverEnding Story that you have Gary that is indeed the German extended cut. Even the vocals on some characters are different. The actor riding the racing snail is one in particular. But that was the original version of the movie. Fair play to you for watching borderlands Gary. I don't think I can bring myself to check it out. I hated the trailers and after hearing all the terrible things I've heard about it I think it's a bit of a no-brainer to stay away. I completely understand Lee when it comes to the artwork of the terminator. So many people were disappointed with it. Maybe the standard amaray edition might look a hell of a lot better.
Late night with the devil is very intriguing. I'm not sure if we are going to benefit much in terms of a 4K release because if I remember correctly it's kind of done like a found footage movie. But a simple upgrade in colour will do me.
As for trick r treat I honestly cannot wait to get my hands on it and it's great to hear that you love the movie as much as I do.

Even though it's bloody expensive, I had to pre-order The Neverending Story. It looks a bloody nice set, and to have not only the two versions and loads of bonus features but the documentary on a separate disc made it a must buy.
I didn't say it in the video because I honestly didn't know about it but a friend of mine from Australia actually bought me a copy of it. I'm still in shock that somebody would actually get that for me. So I had to cancel my order. I think it's worth every penny. Great to hear that you got it yourself Mike
@@millerman9991 I can't wait for it. I'll be doing an unboxing video for sure. And The Terminator in 4K looks astounding. I saw it a couple of nights ago at the cinema and it blew me away. Sadly, it still had the wimpy gun sound effects but everything else sounded great. I'm looking forward to the disc release.

I'm surprised that we only got a Steelbook release for it. I thought they would have went all out and give us a collector's edition. They still might now that I think of it
Love that Neverending Story Imprint Edition. Just to let you know Keith Umbrella are releasing a kick-ass 4K set of Caligula - 5 discs, 5 cuts of the film, and plenty of extras. I'm pre-ordering it next Monday. Check it out.
Yeah I seen the Caligula collector's edition but I'm not the biggest fan of the movie so I'll be passing on that one. Umbrella are knocking it out of the park at the moment
@@millerman9991 I understand Keith, the film is definitely not for everyone- even with me with a quite a few scenes. I'm probably more buying this because the edition is so impressive. And this will be the first time I will be ordering directly from Umbrellas site too.
The one thing I can guarantee is how impressed you're going to be when you get that release in your hands. I have so many Editions from umbrella and they never miss a beat.

I pre-ordered my copy of The Neverending Story from Imprint Films on Friday as soon as I found out about it, costing a total of £159 (£53 a month using PayPal Pay in 3). However, you forgot to mention the Imprint Films release for the 30th anniversary of The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert on 4K. Plus, there is a channel on youtube called In Search of Physical Media which is dedicated entirely to informing people in the USA (or worldwide if outside the USA) of forthcoming bluray/4K releases in the USA. Also, James (who runs the channel and films the videos) often films videos informing everyone with Studio Insider Infomation about what all the major studios are working on remastering for a future bluray/4k release. The newest Studio Insider Information video from this channel is due any day now.
Yeah I'm aware of James's channel. He's doing incredibly well at the moment. There's another three imprint Editions I I could have spoke about in this video but I don't like dragging out my videos. I always try and keep them under 20 minutes. I speak about the ones that I think might appeal to everybody. But that's the beauty of doing videos like this I can easily come back and do a few more of them. Great to hear that you got your Never Ending Story edition. I already have it on 4K and it looks absolutely astonishing so hopefully the new transfers will look similar

Yeah I was thinking the exact same myself. To be honest I would take a nice upgrade in colour. It's all I expect with 4k

That will be good as one of my favourite films on 4K which is trick r treat I’ve got the scream factory edition which is really good actually Keith good extras I’m hoping it will be the same in 4K and the picture on the scream factory blu ray was really good actually 4K should be worth a go
My expectations are very high for the 4K release particularly it being an arrow Video edition. The Blu-ray that I actually have looks very nice but I do want the X Factor and I'm hoping that's what we will get. Thank you as always Ryan for taking the time to stop by. I hope you're doing well

Great video! Can you tell me, if I buy Beetlejuice 4K from Amazon Italy, will the packaging, booklet etc be in English or Italian?
Going by experience the only thing that should be in Italian is the jcard on the back of the box. Everything else should be in English. I bought a collector's edition of Jaws 2 from them as well as a couple of other collectors releases on Blu-ray and only the J cards we're in Italian
I have the terminator on preorder. I was informed by email today that Interstellar the ultimate collectors edition release date has been put back to 01/01/26. I’m hoping they have the year wrong and it’s 25!

I know the Blu-ray release that I got for it was from the States. I'm not sure why we didn't get a release for it on Blu-ray. I didn't check it out but maybe the Blu-ray comes with the 4K release.

To be honest I never picked it up on 4K. If you can get it for that price I would definitely take a gamble on it. It's such a great movie
