If you have time could you post a picture of your Brassica plot. Mine looks thin now but just put the 75# Urea down this weekend on the acre. First year using the 6#’s of Northwoods Whitetails Brassica blend planted August 8th. Not sure if should over seed next weekend with the 200# of winter rye like I did the other 1/2 of the food plot this weekend. SW Wisconsin location. Thank you.

One thing I am always curious about as a pretty generalist hunter is hunting small game, upland, and waterfowl and how that impacts deer hunting. I have two dogs one flusher and one pointer. I hunt more days for grouse and hare than I do for deer. I average a deer every other year but have multiple opportunities every year to take a deer though. But I will admit I have never taken a giant, mature buck. You have videos about good deer habitat should have pheasants and rabbits etc but it would be hard to have that and not hunt them too. Can you use sanctuary areas and hunt small game on the fringes and still have good deer or is all that commotion going to blow them out? If you like to hunt all critters and trained dogs would you set up your own property for deer and hunt small game on public land or hunt deer on public and set your land up for small game?

Crazy in new Jersey this year. EHD the midge bug. Is killing the deer herd. Had 8 big nice bucks on camera last month was getting 300 photos a night now lucky if I get 10. Found 2 nice bucks dead by water. Called game warden. He said NJ is getting hit hard. He had 25 deer dead by a creek. Who knows what deer season is going to be this year.

I hunted the same stand 6 days of my 8 hunts and harvested my best buck ever and first with a bow last season. Right outside of a bedding area I was on the east side of it with a south wind using a grunt call and bleat can. Had 9 different bucks in them 6 days come past and didn't burn out the stands. I'd only sit until 11 or so. Depends on the property and access to the stands. Been very successful hunting the same stands over the past couple seasons. Love your videos!

I've walked into my late-season area in the morning, after it was daylight, dragging my sled with my stand, chair, heater, etc. Set up my blind, in the snow, and got settled in. 10 am, a buck came walking through, pretty much following my trail in. Dropped that buck about an hour after setting up the blind, which sure wasn't done in silence.
You just never know what a deer is going to do.

I don't know about other states,
But in Indiana public land is very few and far between. Plus it gets lite out and you see your surrounded by other hunters or they keep walking past. Hard to get away to scout when it's a 2hour drive to get there.
I'm sooo lucky to have more private land to hunt than I could ever in one season.I have been able to set in different areas each weekend, according to the wind. my food plots and switch grass are coming on strong thanks to you!
So I don't sit on the couch much because I can spead myself out over the season as to not burn out my stands. Plus all the surrounding land is hunted by atv guys and no other food plot guys, heck they'll park on the upwind side of where they hunt.
Hope THEY don't discover YOU Jeff!
Thanks for the awsome season I'm about to have.🤞

I saw at least 14 deer including a mature buck that was out of range. It was the most deer Id ever seen in a sit. Have a small amount of private land but wanted to start getting used to public land and broadening my horizons hoping to travel to some other states for hunts on public in the next few years. Is it nuts to try to use a 4 pole stake in the ground blind, it's super portable kind of like a duck blind on public land during bow season? I have no tree gear at all currently. Urea is controlled since it was used in Oklahoma city. Farm supply stores may have it but they don't just hand it over to just anyone. They either need to know who you are and where you are using it. Or they want to spread it for you so they know it's used properly.

If it's a solid black lens, it's no-glow. The low-glows(red flash) aren't totally blacked out.

I've enjoyed your videos, Jeff....but I'm starting to get frustrated by some themes. If I would have taken your advice and hunted a lot less and only on 40% days. 3 of the bucks I killed over the last 5 yrs, I would not have taken. A couple pieces of advice...1) stop speaking in absolutes. Every single property is different and there could be situations where some of this ends up being poor advice. And 2) stop coming off like someone who doesn't like to HUNT. You sound like someone who only cares about your brand and shooting big bucks, not someone who actually enjoys the outdoors and the act of deer hunting. And before you think I'm a brown-and-downer, I'm not. I target the top bucks in my area (pressured Michigan). But I suspect more people hunt when they can because they can or simply want to hunt....and that is NOT a fail. Maybe it's time to get off your couch and enjoy creation. I hunt a lot....and I try to do it as smart as I can. I'm not concerned with having a buck kill on camera or my brand. I do it because I LIKE it. You may want to learn to relate to that joy and acknowledge that on your channel. It's certainly not a fail...
