😆 Awe you're making me want to move back to Long Beach for a third time!!! I used to live on a boat in the Shoreline Village marina which was a amazing to wake up every morning to see the sun rise and set in the evening. Hey, if you see that big paddle wheel boat, I've driven that twice and I was scared out of my pants. You woulnd't think that paddles needs a different approach to driving than with propellers but yeah it's much different. Thankfully they have side thruster.
💡Oh for a cheap boat ride🚤, get on the walk-on ferry (Long Beach Transit - AquaLink) It's only $5 bucks one way to Alamitos Bay. Then walk to Naples to the center of the island. You can walk around the little island in the middle of the island. Little paved trail that goes around it. It gives you the feeling that you are in Venice, Italy. Best to visit around sunset to the evening when the homes are all lit up. It's best to park at Alamitos Bay for the walk as the ferry ends service around 6pm. Long before sunset. Oh and I think they might still rent electric boats in Alamitos. No license required! Lots of cool places to explore. You could get lost as I almost did with a much larger boat.

I Got Stitches!!! I was hand ✋️ Catching my Air2S in a Rush to get to the next shooting spot for a job and BOOM! 💥 I ✂️ MY Pinky fingertip almost right off!!
7 Stitches later and 1 year but it will never be the same.
Never rush & always safety first.
P.S. I still hand launch but I always land on the ground now. :-)
I could definitely see some applications for this. You could for sure spoof some FPV type shots with some intentional flying.

soo what I gather is that the bottom lens will get scratched to hell cause land and take off its only on that doesn't land on the drone feet like it should unless you get some sort of extension for them..... I mean its kinda cool and all but at this point I feel they should just partner with DJI to create a solid 360 drone or even Skyduo

Now this looks very interesting, I've tried systems for mounting 360 cameras on the drones before, and they always disappointed me. But this one seems well thought out. Can you use it as a regular insta360 as well? Does it include the ONE RS cage or something equivalent so can attach an Invisible Selfie Stick when not using a drone (or cannot use drone because of restricted zone)?

It is all self contained so you definitely can, I’m sure a clamp to 1/4” would be easy to rig up. But the stitch lines for close objects are going to be much cleaner in a X2 or RS because of the tighter spacing of the lenses.
Put it on your drone and then attach an invisible stick to the drone :'v
Must have just missed you. I was at the freedom bell a few days ago filming a drone video myself. Great locations all around there to fly. I also was at the same park with the gazebo and graffiti rocks.
I'd like to know how the visit from Port Police turned out? I know flying drones around the Port of Los Angeles is posted as restricted/prohibited without prior approval. Did they confiscate the drone? Did you get an OK from the Port? If so, how was that process?
i guess it weights less than 250 gramms?

@@JohnDoe-te4nr Its above 250 grams. Also, even if it was sub-250 grams, that does not mean you don't have to follow the laws and rules... big misconception.
I thought I was far enough from the port but they said I need to go a few blocks further or get a permit from the website.
By the way, how did you know it was a restricted zone? It doesn’t come up as restricted in my apps and I want to find the map of the restricted area

i'm kinda worried about the bottom lens scratching, since it's the first part that touches the ground... any experience on that?
edit: well, gene mentioned the designated cushioned landing pad, but i'm still concerned...
I think learning hand launching and hand catching landing would solve that, my Air 2s never touch ground lol
I’ve got an air 2 myself for almost two years and hand launching is very simple, doesn’t really require much practice or guts. Important rule is that don’t bring the drone to your hand bring your hand towards the bottom of the drone after you brought it to around shoulder height.
After a week you can hand launch and land basically all the Mavic line by yourself I never trust anyone to launch I just do it myself one hand on the controller and the other to land and launch.
@@rosanineteen9682 one technique I found super useful for hand landing is as soon as you catch the drone, flip it so the drone will think it crashes and automatically stops spinning props, quick and safe
A possible solution to the bottom lens vulnerability issue might be to add some lightweight extension pieces to the drone's legs, long enough (a couple of inches, maybe) to raise the whole body upwards and away from the landing site.
@@IanWilkinson I thought this but the 360 cam will see them so pointless. Just have a pillow/dog bed to land on if you’re not going to catch it

Question: is the 2.4GHz wifi from the camera disconnected?
Because it WILL interfere, at some level with the drone wifi signal, also at 2.4GHz...

very interesting visual results with this 360 flying combination. A pity that the image of the 360 cameras is so poor, with the small sensors and the sharpening ... unusable for a high quality image production
You can turn the sharpening way down. But yeah, at the end of processing you're left with about 1080p footage. It's really fun to play with though.
@@_-frosty-_ and its too expensive... I would definitely try these out, but the price over 500€ really keeps me from doing it... way over priced for a camera this type!

If you're in the market for whatever that is, you probably have the budget and crew for it, or Lucasfilm gave you a credit card to buy a helicopter and bowling-ball-sized 360 camera...
Or you can use this camera and drone combo and work your way up to ~1million RUclips subs with "low image quality", like the maker of this video, and be making a living just fine... Somehow most of their viewers are OK with it.
Or, you can use this 360 cam and drone combo and easily up-res the video to 8k+ in post-production with some AI software and save your money.

I like the BetaFPV version where you can convert your OneR into it. It would be nice if there was a way to do that for this instead of it being an entirely new camera with only one use case.
I tried it and it's okay but I returned it. My biggest issue would have been solved if I had done more research, the lack of GPS hold, but the thing it can't solve is flight time. I do hate having to buy another camera to do this but I think it's worth it to finally bite teh bullet and get a mavic for the position hold, girlfriend flyable difficulty, sensors, and 30 minute flight time. Or maybe it will be like 20 with this thing on it.
For someone who is not a drone pilot already the BetaFPV is not great.
@@SetitesTechAdventures I’m the opposite. I only fly FPV drones and don’t care about gps hold. I have a Mavic Air 2 but it just collects dust now. I like that FPV is a fun thing to do but also captures incredibly unique and cool footage.

Make sure you get an import/re-export permit if you’re bringing your gear (more than what a tourist might bring) to Indonesia. Or you will have a major headache with customs. Maybe my wife will let me go meet you in September 😅
I wish they had a mount for a motorcycle helmet with one lenses on the chin and one in the back. This would be the ultimate motorcycle dash cam set up imo!

10 meters away is just necessary when you do a stitchline shot, but you can turn the drone (or fly that way) and you have 180degree where you can use the footage without stitchline issues
