the texas eye from zman is probably my favorite for the diesel minnows
i love that combo it also works well for bass
Swingheads like the Texas Eye gives the swim baits a crazy good action
I use the brands that you promote as much as I can. It is my way to show support for the useful information that I receive from this channel.
Having said that, I do like the Storm and Sunami swimbaits/6-inch paddle tails for snook, year-round, in Crystal River. Those baits have a great action and a nice fat profile that I have not found in other brands.
the Storm 3" Wildeye Swimbait is a killer, especially the Pearl color...
@@lnomolas3427 Absolutely. I do like to use the black and red color swimbaits at night. The pearl /white color produces well night or day.
Those lures look great 👍
Love these videos! Thanks!
Thank you from Weeki Wachee..
The Bates reels are impressive!
Really like the look of that silver bates fishing reel, do you have an affiliate link I could use ? Thanks captain CA, great video as always!
I fished Crystal River/Ozello yesterday. The water was very clear and the tides were crap so we had to work for our limit. Only thing the bigger trout would eat was a live shrimp under a float with 15 lb leader max. Artificials produced a few shorts and the usual junk like Blowfish.
Caught a 26” trout on zman diesel minnow on 1/4 texas eye other day
That’s an impressive catch!
@@flatsclasscharters thanks! Up here in NC on redfish toad color, my biggest before was a 21”
i caught two slot trout at the same time on a mirrodine the other day. it was a bit of a fight getting them off without getting hooked myself lol
I’ve seen and I know the issues!
Interesting. Was expecting to see a soft plastic jerk bait on the list. I guess the mulletron kind of fills that roll
Actually the 5” Jerk Shad would fit in rather well in the April Top 5. Nice add Alexander
I fish Tampa Bay and picked up some 1/8oz Beastie Buggs. They look great on a clean mud/sand bottom but where I'm fishing back in mangrove ponds and creeks there are clumps of brown weed that get hung up on the jig. I'm sight fishing reds off of a Kaku Voodoo and have been doing well enough casting a shrimp, mud minnow, or pilchard past a red and dropping it in it's path but I'm striking out on artificials. If I cast past the fish with his head down and work a soft plastic toward him they spook. Was going to try topwater at sunrise or flukes on an unweighted twistlock next week. Thoughts?
Do you have any good inline hook recommendations
Does Bates company have a reel that's built kinda like the Shimano DC ? With the chip inside ? I can throw " standard " casting gear but prefer the DC reels because it's less headaches 😂
No “DC” as of yet but their Matrix breaking system works well to minimize backlashes and if you step braid weight up to 30lb… casting reels become less problematic
@@flatsclasscharters I'll check that reel out. I never really used anything above 15lb braid on my casting stuff. Most my rods are rated 6-12 to 8-17. So it's always nervous going over the weight of the rod recommendation
Link to mirrodine rigging?
How big was that gator trout mounted on your wall?
37lbs
30 inch 9 lb these are just guesses
32” Long and nearly 16” girth… weighs almost 11lbs! Caught her in Texas and she was released unharmed 👊🏼
Can’t believe you didn’t say spoon once
Honestly Josh, spoons are a play 75% of the time and definitely would get honorable mention
I always thought I’d get an Alvey’s fishing reel, just for the sake of a conversation peace.because my last name is alvey .do you think that is silly 😂 I value your opinion
i love your show and your tips just too monotonous and not to the point i feel like im in a political science clas on and on
I will try to do better Ralph… my passion is teaching but not political science 😂
