I share you're videos from time to time. You explain things a lot better than a lot of other channels I watch. Even when it's just you filming the footage is pretty damn good. Keep up the great work 50k should be here soon.
When skipping a standard jig versus a weighted hook which presentation do you think is physically easier to use? When skipping, do you think it makes a difference in ease of skipping a fluke versus a paddle tail. Yesterday out with someone who is great at skipping mangroves. The score was seven snook and one redfish for him one jack for me. 78 years old but I'm going to try to learn. Thanks for all you do for all of us!
Mike- great question! Weight forward jig (jighead) is easier to skip if it has a smaller hook. I like larger soft baits that have a flatter profile for max skipping distance so the jerk shads get the call most days…
Your Zillions, with their SV brake, are skipping maniacs! I really think you're exposing casting reels as viable inshore tools, has had an impact on local shops starting to carry baitcasters. I used to be forced to go to bps to get my reels. Now I can go local.
Hey Capt. CA this is gonna sound wild but in these situations has anyone ever thrown a heavy cover wood bass jig to entice those hidden tucked away snook?
What a great day together! Super challenging with small craft advisory! This post is excellent and hits all the key points!
It was quite the challenge, appreciate the effort and intensity you put out there Capt Rob!

Hey CA using 30 and 40 lb leader skipping 15’ under mangroves do you have any tricks to share if you get hung up?
Can you explain the composite aspect of the last rod compared to the first 2 rods, thanks!
Are banners like you have hanging for sale? Love to put one up in my garage!

100 percent believe that casting reels are an advantage that many don’t realize for inshore light tackle angling… appreciate your feedback
You need to do a FG knot video
Wow, you salt water guys know how to skip bushes??😂😂 Love your comparison on the comparison of bushes and docks….and using a baitcaster is awesome🙌🏼
We sure try Auggy
Another great video CA, going to try and up my skipping game this year!
What weight are you using on the ZMan Hook, 1/16 , 1/8 or the 3/16?
John I’m using the 1/8oz
@@flatsclasscharters thanks I wanted to sure to get that balance right. Appreciate the reply.
Got the 4" mulletrons ordered
Brotha… stop by the bait shop at the goodland boat ramp ( or Calusa) next time and sign some zmans…lol
😂 you bet

I wish zman would put that stopper on all their weedless hooks the hook point coming out is definitely a problem with diesel minnows
You can make your own with a piece of leader material… I need to do a video on that one
@@flatsclasscharters I use a piece of plastic off sunglass cord but would love to see a video on how to do it with a piece of leader
I grew up bass fishing. Is there a jig or lure that you can get close and pitch into those lay downs or root systems? Thank you sir
It’s pretty much a wood riddled tangle town so maybe an arkie head jig with a good brush guard with a paddle tail trailer could work?
@@flatsclasscharters thank you sir! Hope to get back down in June for my first Snook!!
Great video but i find to fg knot to long to tye try and easy knot so if you get snagged you can cut and retie quick!
I know… I tied up two in the boat in a 20mph wind that day
FG knot but you I would like to know how you do it
Salt Strong has the best tutorial I’ve found for FG knot
