Thank you for the video - Just ordered the Mulletron in both Silver and Mossback to try. I started reeling small bait casters with my left hand (many years ago) which is very easy to do. Then you can throw with right and start reeling without having to switch hands ALL DAY LONG. Nice boat and like those reels too. Blessings

Thanks for this video, received some mulletron a couple of weeks ago and unfortunately sprained my wrist the same day. So haven't been able to try them and wasn't sure the best easy to fish them. Now really excited to get on the water and work them.

Despite the water being clear, the bottom is dark, do you choose a darker color due to the color of the bottom? And vice versa if the bottom was “much brighter/clear”?

Great content as always Capt CA! Do you change the hook to a bigger size like you mentioned with the 6 inch mulletron or keep the stick hook for the 4.5 inch size? Thanks!

C.A. I moved further from the coast and discovered that the lake my office is stacked with gizzard shad eating double digit largemouth. I mainly throw 7-9" glide bait or 6-8" soft bait and my other rod I'll have a jig or a small finesse swimbait as a follow up bait. Right now the bass are keyed in on tiny shad, so I started getting a bunch of bites on 3-4" swimbaits on a 1/8 oz ball head jig. I had know idea that a bait that small could be thrown so easily from the leverage of the bait. I probably landed 5/20 of these. I had some 4.5 and 6" mulletron in my saltwater bag and decided to try it on the bass. It has been deadly, 100% hook up to land ratio. It just gets bit.
C.A. have you caught any tarpon on a mellotron lt? Guys down here cut the hook off a jig headed swimbait or grub and zip tie a circle hook to it essentially have a line through. It seems like the short shank and geometry of the hook might survive a tarpon.

Love the bait. Only problem is replacement hooks. Emailed Zman about it and they sent me 1 new hook. Broke off on a red, got the bait back and hook is gone so bait was done. They need to sell them separate.
Edit: Just looked at website, seems they are selling replacement hooks now.

Looks good. I'm going to need the perfect flounder lures for 10' or less of water, 4' average, with lots of floating marsh grass drifting around and lots of green kelp and soft corals. It's flatfish time around the Chesapeake but that means lots of stuff in the water. Jigs catch weeds on most casts. Hopefully I can figure out a lure that flounder like, but ribbon fish don't. If you don't know about ribbon fish just imagine trying to fish around a bunch of ladyfish with barracuda mouths. They're in a school, very aggressive, and they have nasty dental work. They shred bucktails and soft plastics. I'm not sure the lure I need exists.

@@flatsclasscharters they're really annoying to me. But some people fish for them and take home coolers full. They're supposed to be very good to eat, but they're so skinny it would take a couple fish to be full.
