Capt., I cannot make out what size swivel are you said you were using on that spoon?
I was always told that if you retrieve the spoon at the right speeds, it will wobble, but not spin (minimizing line twists). I don't seem to have too much of a line twist issue & I am able to feel the grass or harder structure as it bumps it, But I have usually ended up feeling like I could/should have done better with the spoon. Is this bunk? Could I be missing fish by going too slow - speeding up the retrieve enough that the spoon will spin?
I understand that either speed should work under different conditions (skittish fish - slow OR sloppy/choppy water - faster.), but it is hard to break from a 'habit'. Your wisdom and experience carries weight!

I usually use a small swivel in the 50-65lb size… the spoon spins yes when reeling a bit faster but always vary your retrieve and be sure to make bottom contact

Depending on load and equipment which varies quite a bit… 36-41mph
I've really got to invest in some good sunglasses so I can spot them snook.

Hey enjoyed the video but you never really talked about or revealed the right types of retrieves while on the water as you said you were gonna do lol. Other than the deflection off the rocks and bottom, unless I missed it. :)
The real key is to make sure your retrieve is just the right speed to make contact with bottom as much as you dare. So when you watch how I retrieve this lure it’s very erratic rod twitches with slower pace on reel. The 7.1 casting reel helps as well because it only takes up 28” per handle turn
