right after making this video I start bl*eding again from the BC 🥴 back to period underwear!! which I tried the new Knix pair and I'm actually quite enjoying them, they are super comfy! I am going to be getting off the BC though because it's now been over 3 months of bl*eding and I'm still getting my migraines and I'm over it 😪
I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through that! 😭 After 3 months I would be ready to switch to something else! Idk how long you've been on it, but after 5 months, I would maybe ask for an alternative. They say it takes 3 months or so for medications to fully kick in and start doing their thing, and starting a new BC can always cause weird things to go on, but if you're not happy with the BC your on, I hope you can find something that works better for you! Having to worry about spotting is awful! I switched to a BC that stops my periods completely and it's been a godsend! When I first started I had some spotting, but now I hardly ever have spotting unless I forget to take it or if I'm really late taking it.
Besides all that, I really enjoyed your video!! It's really cool to see what things you enjoy and thank you for including your music selection! I love checking out music that is new to me! I hope you're doing well, Alexa! 💛☀️
Hope you find something that works. I finally grew out of mine in my 30’s.
I had horrible menstrual migraines so my doc switched me to a progesterone only bc pill. No more migraines! Been on it 7 years now and haven’t had a single headache. Plus no side effects! My body became very estrogen sensitive after years of being on the combined pill. Love the progesterone only one.
Have you tried any Flo Vitamins? They have an ovarian support one that helps regulate hormones. I wonder if they would help.
It’s crazy that you have the same symptoms on your lower dose bc that I had 60!! years ago on the original high dose. I’m sorry.

Just an fyi - 14k gold is 58.3% gold and 41.7% is other metals; it's an alloy. 24k gold is solid gold but it's too soft to wear as jewelry, which is why almost all gold jewelry is an alloy. Likewise "sterling silver" is 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals. It sounds like you definitely have an allergy to one (or more!) components of these metal alloys; so many people have a nickel allergy that in Europe they aren't allowed to use nickel in jewelry at all, but US has no such strictures. All of which is to say - different brands may use slightly different compositions of alloy, so different brands - esp EU brands - might also work out for you. I'm glad you found some earrings that work because metal allergies sound so frustrating!! ❤You'd probably also tolerate 18k gold I'm guessing.

Drawstring workout leggings really are the best! Like you said, they don’t roll/fold down! I’ve had a pair from Fila for years that I wear sparingly because I don’t want to wear a hole in the fabric lol. Anecdotal, but after I got the Mirena IUD, my migraines completely went away. I hope the birth control helps! Migraines are the worst.

OH MY GOSH! I also get monthly migraines that last 3 days every time! They are so brutal! I am so sorry that you get them too. I didn't start getting them until after my youngest son was born, but that's been 18 years now. My Grandma, Mom and one of my aunts all got them until menopause, and my doctor assures me that mine will go away then too, so I'm looking extremely forward to that! I also get them occasionally if I sit (or sleep) in a position where my neck is uncomfortable for an extended period of time, and occasionally from stress. Migraines are the worst! I actually have watched your channel for a very long time and love it, I just never comment. When you said this about your migraines though, I was like "WHOA, someone else who gets them the same way I do!". I'm so sorry about what you have dealt with with the birth control stuff, and so glad to hear that you have stopped spotting. I hope this will be the answer for you and your migraines.

I have the same issue with having sensitive ears! I’ve also tried so many different earrings and my piercings were always inflamed and was especially surprised I couldn’t even wear the medical grade titanium ones.

how do you clean your thrifted leather jackets? do you dry clean them?
I’m curious what Alexa has to say but what I do is hand clean the inner lining by steaming it and then wiping it down with a soapy rag. Then I use Lexol leather cleaner and Bick 4 leather conditioner on the leather itself. Oh my goodness, it makes the leather so beautiful!!

My fave period underwear is Goat Union. They have panties and biker shorts and sleeper shorts. Don’t feel like a diaper or pad. I was exclusively a tampon person for 15 years until I got these.

Period underway may contain PFAS aka forever chemicals (helps the material be more absorbent and stain resistant), I personally use organic cotton disposable pads. Look up the huge lawsuit THINX recently underwent. Best wishes with the spotting issues, I think the switch away from period underwear may help❤
wow, i tried bc for 3 months to see if it helped pain and as soon as the 3 months were up I bailed hard. it gave me extra headaches. maybe i should have given it longer but my doc said 3 months were enough

So honestly, birth control made my migraines worse. I tried every kind, for several months each time, even stopped and started again 6 months later and my migraines just got more frequent and more intense. It sucks, because it really helped my PCOS and Endo, but I couldn’t function and was constantly leaving work and even getting sick on the way home. I hope it helps you, but listen to your body for sure!

might I level up the sunscreen game of anyone with sensory challenges by suggesting spray on sunscreen? I was put off by the greasy feeling on my hands and didn't wear it for decades. But now it doesn't bother me
It's great that you found a solution that works for you (+ wearing spray sunscreen is better than not having any sunscreen). However, just so you're aware, the spray on doesn't give as much coverage as "regular" sunscreens. Sprays are usually recommended for touch ups
