Thank you, Stuart, for showing us this.
If this protest was happening here in Lisbon, I would be there!

❤ It's not easy for me, as a fan, to boycott the ESC this year. But seing this warms my heart. I hope many voices for the respect of human rights can be heard in Malmö during these days.

It's so shameful coming from a country that funds Israel millions and millions when we have a cost of living crisis and full time workers/professionals who are living in their cars because they can't afford rent or to buy a home anymore.

Hi, thank you for your reporting! This is a serious question and not meant to be an attack: How do you justify not completely boycotting Eurovision and the EBU? This is something I myself struggle with; it'd be the most effective protest and yet I, as so many other israel-critical fans, seemingly dont manage to?

It's a good question. I think the tricky part is that in the eyes of many people, including the EBU, I'm just a fan blogger. Fan outlets end up being ambassadors for the brand. After all, they do this in their free time and out of the deep love that they have for the show.
I'm definitely a fan, but I'm a journalist first and I keep the show at a distance. The outcome of this year's show will be a determining factor in a lot of things, including whether or not I will continue to make videos about Eurovision, or even continue to watch the show personally.
And so fully boycotting didn't seem effective knowing that other people who do the kind of work that I do are, for the most part, not as politically conscious, and focus much more on the contest than everything else around it.

The turquoise carpet was a disaster. Is it because of this démonstration ?

I thought that you stated that your not talking about the conflicts. I thought you said that you want to focus on the music and the musician, but you're not willing to talk about the Israeli song or artist, which I respect. But this video has nothing to do with anything except advancing an agenda. This sadly will make me leave this channel. I thought it could an interesting way to experience the Eurovision this year but I guess I was wrong

Stuart: standing up against a genocidal state that has killed 34.000 palestinians including 12.000 children which will use ESC as propaganda.

I am covering Eurovision in it's totality. The protests are part of the story.

@@stu_makes_vids and the Israelis are not? Eden is not part of the story? I actually think you getting an interview with her. Challenging her stance is more interesting then this. Interviewing singers about this is the story. The protest are all around Europe. This is not part of the story. Your trying to make it part of it, and that's what is disappointing for me

I’m absolutely grateful he does cover what happens, because in main stream media, surely you won’t see anything. And what is there to cover about Israel? They didn’t even participate in the turquoise carpet?
