@@_the_primer_ Thinking about it that way, it makes perfect sense. And makes it far more true to the book, which I admittedly have not read in two decades.
I think the third one is most in line thematically with the original story. The human race is replaced as the dominant form of life. All the strange things about Anna could suggest she is a double agent for the Darkseekers. The last time we see her is finding a human enclave, and she is so happy about it. We assume it is because she thinks she has found refuge. That is not consistent with the original theme. If she was happy because she found the last bastion of humanity so she can destroy it, that is in line with the original theme.
Hierarchy of "monsters" ? I'm down with that. Like Will is immune to the virus and is 1% of the 1% ...then it's plausible that there are monsters on the opposite spectrum who are the 1% of the 1% that look like humans.

Dr. Neville used a two-way radio to broadcast his message, but Anna heard Dr. Neville on a one-way car radio, so that explains why she could not reply to him.
Yeah his theories are way off. I can understand if there were plot twist or things missed in the movie plot. That he was pointing out. Like in Fight Club how the main character is indeed really Tyler Durden. That made up Darla, Bob, John etc. Dealing with the fact he's going to lose his testicles. Cause he's been diagnosed with cancer and such. But, this movie doesn't have hidden plot twists like that. This sounds like big "What ifs?" At best. Anna showed up dawn not at night. Also as you pointed out couldn't respond back. The fact Neville was bleeding badly wounded and if she were a dark seeker. No matter how hybrid. The sight of blood would cause her to lust as well as the boy. Even hybrids like Blade, Alucard, and D still have bloodlust. Although, they don't feed off humans. He's reaching in this video too much. Just say or title it differently. Not like there are hidden gems.

If you watch the movie closely you'll notice that the darkseekers never go after anna and the kid Only Neville. The only time they come close to a darkseeker happens off camera in the end while they are hiding. Anna and kid ran upstairs and "hid" Before the 2 darkseekers enter the house after the explosion. 2 jump on Neville but one runs upstairs. But the movie later shows when Neville approaches that before you enter the bedroom you can clearly see if someone was under the shelf/drawer just by standing at door frame. So that darkseeker wouldve clearly seen them. But since anna and kid are spy seekers the darkseeker ignores them and just jumps to ceiling to make an opening for more darkseekers. Neville can be clearly heard multiple times calling out to Anna as he goes upstairs. So once anna hears Nevil coming closer up the last set of stairs they put on an acting scared face and pretend to hide. Then the kid makes a muffled moan on purpose to get the darkseeker to look and jump down. But if you slow it down you can see that Neville jumps on bed and shoots dsrkseeker immediately as it touches ground so you never see what darkseeker wouldve done next
Damn dude I really liked your breakdown and insight on this film. I had watched the Omega Man with my grandparents not long ago for some perspective on the whole story(they suggested it), this vid is the cherry on top of it all. I'm glad I found your channel...I'm doing a deep dive into some of your vids tonight with my gf.
interestingly. the Grand Budapest Hotel does a very similar thing with the 3 time periods that its set in. I want to say Movies with Mikey has a good video on that.
I’ve watched I Am Legend at least 15 times and I never noticed that the mannequin turns it’s head. That tripped me out, but it could be explainable as being setup by the vampires with some sort of pully system, since they obviously know how to set traps and are hiding in the building directly behind the mannequin. Personally I like the idea that it’s all a story about curing cancer and that he is the “bad man in the fast car.” But I think you made an error here. The bad man in the fast car is not the cure, it’s the original measles virus before it’s been engineered to work for the body, rather than against it. She says the bad man in a fast car can do a lot of damage. Neville is then shown driving the fast car and when he sees the dear, he loses control of the car and spins out and causes a bunch of damage. She then says that you take the bad man and replace him with a cop. The “cop” here is an engineered version of the virus. So Anna, the one with the butterfly tattoo that matches up with all the other symbolism, is the “cop”. She is the only other person to drive a car in the movie after the outbreak. She is the one that delivers the cure to the other people in the safe place. So she is actually the hero, bot Neville. She is the engineered version of him and technically what she is delivering isn’t what Neville gave her, she’s delivering the boy. He’s the actually the cure. That is, the virus they used to make the cure is measles. Measles uses a protein called hemagglutinin to bind to a target receptor on the host cell, and then transcribes it’s genetic code to the cell where it is sent out as a newly created virus. It then spreads throughout the body via the blood system. So in this sense, vampires would be the cancer, Neville would be the regular measles virus, Anna the engineered measles virus, the boy is the resulting virus created by the transcription which then spreads to through via the system of roads which is the blood system, and arrives in new new tissues like the lungs, intestines etc one of which is represented by the uninfected outpost. She states that after that they spread the cure to other outposts, just like a virus would. I like this theory very much 😂
Man your theories got me questioning my entire 200+ dvd collection that I am now going to have to rewatch. Smh. The Dr. in the opening scene makes the most sense to me, a visual representation of the story she is telling.
Damn dude... I thought I loved this movie before but you just opened up so many different ways to look at it! (And I never noticed the mannequins head move before... What's that about?!)
I like the multiple ideas. You sound logic and reasoning to come to these conclusions and it makes me want to watch them all over again great job keep up the good work.
If Anna is a vamp and it represents cancer then her surviving after 3 years to show up to the safe zone would be like cancer going in remission and coming back and spreading
I liked the three theories. I think if your videos can use multiple theories in under 15 minutes it's fine. If you feel like doing multiple theories would make vids longer, it may be beneficial to you to break the videos up and elaborate on each theory a bit more. Just thinking in terms of RUclips's "system." Your multi-part videos seem to do pretty well-in the long run that could equal more views without compromising content quality. Juss sayin', anyway good stuff bruh.
The entire premise of the movie is completely wrong... The darkseekers were bad at communication... And they really needed to tell Dr Neville something very important but had no way to do it... So here comes Anna... And through it all... All the dark seekers wanted to do was talk to Dr Neville about his car's extended warranty😅.... I'll see myself out now... I couldn't resist All jokes aside ... This video is definitely food for thought 😎😎
Dope video! Also...Anna being an evolved vampire makes sense for sure. It was always out of place for her to be out at night and happened to "save" Neville.
Didn't Anna tell Robert about the safe zone? And the message about meeting on the dock was just continuously broadcasted so no she wouldn't be able to send a message in return. Granted why in the heck would she be listening to the radio and it doesn't make any sense that she showed up in the middle of the night (plot hole/device). The only thing that makes sense with Anna is that she was just a lucky survivor plot device used to get the cure out of NYC. The alt ending is better because it give more weight to the notion that the Krippin virus is just the next evolution to humanity. And that Robert is a man that fears change and finally realized his error in thinking the zombies didn't have higher brain function. I do like the idea that this movie is a story told by the survivors to keep them from leaving the safe zone. A story brought to them by Anna. The 4:3 ratio opening being the only part of the movie that was real is outstanding!
In the book, the woman was given a pill that’ll lessen the effects they would experience from being in the sun. She found Robert after he went on a crusade against the zombies/vampires. So the third makes most sense. And the regular vampires are similar to those of psych patients. Some believe they’re actually bats, and attempt to fly, etc. And I do believe there were evolved vampires as well.

Maybe Anna is not a vampire, but she is working for them. Maybe she was left behind because she was infected (maybe her child too) but they both have a genetic mutation that means that they are asymptomatic. If she was stuck with them for three years, with a child, and she and the child survived, the vampires must have let them. They may have helped her to survive. Perhaps she seemed asymptomatic, but still had the ability to communicate with them and know that they can become organized and think. Maybe she wanted to protect them.

As a kid of the 60s I grew up watchin' Omega Man over and over - every chance I got when it was listed in TV Guide. One of my all-time favorite movies. I own it on DVD these days. I liked I Am Legend - and always thought there was much more to the Anna character than was explained in the movie. I liked the subtle aspect that left room for conjecture, analysis and imaginative interpretation. These days I can't re-watch I Am Legend because of the final dog scene (we own three german shepherds). Even though it's just a movie of course, I get wrapped up in the emotion at the moment.
Loved the video. That last theory was really interesting to me because, in media, we've always attempted to portray the otherness of an untrustworthy person or the darkness of humanity as monsters. I was unaware of the previous iterations of I am legend. But, it makes sense that they were as divergent as they were, from a cultural perspective. In media, our stories started as humanity against nature, then humanity against God's, then humanity against representations of perverted humanity. That started out as vampires and then migrated into Zombies. So, it's really cool, but understandable, to see that play out over multiple adaptations and interpretations of the same story. The most interesting part about it to me is that the stories themes in stories we create as a species, across racial boundaries, are often allegories of the most prevalent change occurring it the species. Humans against dragons and fey were when we were battling against the element to provide enough to subsist from the land and tame nature. Then, when nature was tamed, we had battles with God's and demons while we tried to make sense of the existence of everything and find purpose beyond simple survival. When we had come to the conclusion of either reconciling that these answers were beyond us and placing them in the realm of higher powers, or turning our backs on the concept of deities, we still had to struggle with the idea of what we do here, while we're here. So, the new obstacle to overcome is understanding the totality of the human experience and coming to terms with the ambiguity of morality, leading to stories of monsters masquerading as humans, wrapped in themes that hold a mirror to our own monstrosity. Curious to see what the next "monster" will be, if I live long enough to see that cultural shift.
I started the video thinking I'd prefer single theories, though I changed my mind by the end. My favorite videos of yours are on the Shinning and Candyman. Both of those I feel like you nailed themes that are persistent throughout the movies. I enjoyed this video too, but honestly the arguments feel like nit picking things that are there just to make the movie more theatrical. I found myself thinking "yeah, but they did that to make it more exciting" vs Candyman you showed me a perspective that I could see the film makers actually trying to portray. At least to me, some of your best theories were the most grounded in reality. "There are no ghosts" simplified the Shinning and made it make more sense, even if some of your arguments were a bit reaching (e.g Doggy Style). Your single video format works really well for more grounded theories. Now I still really enjoyed this video but I think you have to admit they are more fantastic than some of your other theories. If these were single video I'd probably just think you're really reaching now for content, so I think it was really smart to consolidate them in a list format video. If you have more fantastic theories I think this is a good format. I'd go further to say you could even combine multiple movies that have theories that relate to each other with a common theme.
at 3:51, i never thought that the infected set the snare trap - this is one of the indicators that our main character is losing his mind, he stepped into his own trap, losing a grasp of his own routine and doings. Perhaps the infected placed the mannequin there, as he was waiting with the dogs (then left the seen? that bit never checked out for me).
Your Osmosis Jones theory was pretty damn cool! Matches up nicely as an analogy and example. Even the idea of the breaking of the protective casing (ballistic glass) he was behind and exploding a grenade right as it broke. Like the old Advil gels commercial. Like Drix... Fast acting. How did she survive though??? She showed up at night. She should've already had a pack on her.

Depending on that band that he uses to broadcast, she may be able to hear him on normal fm radio bands like a regular radio or even emergency radio, something that only receives. You can even build a simply radio receiver out of common household items so it's not crazy surprising, more so just "lucky" that the time and frequency lined up.
I figured that the head darkseeker was gaining intelligence...that he was hiding within the manaquin (wearing a mask and costume) that moved to mess with nevils head. He then set the trap to catch him.
I think what would’ve made #3 the best, even outside of the fact that it’s most consistent with that story is thinking to myself just how mental it would’ve been if it was revealed to us a third of the way through the film that there are others like Anna, all who are calling the shots for the rest of the zombies and orchestrating these various events in order to kill Neville. That final scene would’ve hit soooo hard if they did a twist/subversion like that and it would’ve been one of the most talked about films of its generation. Still a very solid movie, but after having read the original material years ago, it’s always been the strongest single case for what could’ve been. I honestly have hoped they would remake the story again and stick to the source material, even if they toss out the name. Great video! I love solid theories such as the ones you presented.

Love how you think and debunk theories
Great job
Man, that last one blew my mind! I've seen this movie a dozen times and never even considered that. Now I need to go back and watch it again for any subtle Clues to support your theory
Crippin virus? I got that too CUH 🔵
Edit: Damn I made the comment before I saw your point it out. Oh well. Good catch CUH!
To answer the question at the end I’d say mix it up. Regardless it’s good content. Keep it up!
Every single video a mental gem. All three of your takes make for a better premise than the official plot. Once again well done sir.
Br0 this is more 'thought food' then you would get from a 3h movie and it's free. Thanks.
Agree, this is brillant ! More mature and thoughtful take on movie than plenty others channels out there !
Dude broke it down to the aspect ratios and I started sayin “hold up.. he’s on to something”
Yeah thats obviously so intentional ....I think the cancer one is a terrific theory
interestingly. the Grand Budapest Hotel does a very similar thing with the 3 time periods that its set in. I want to say Movies with Mikey has a good video on that.
I felt like Robert became less aware, less human with time. The male was very upset when his mate was taken. They have formed relationships.
Yeah the movie constantly showed his mental stability declining.
or they were in a relationship before they turned which is kind of touching that even in sickness they’re still together
You always have the best intro music
You deserve more subscribers.
Your ideas are original, that's why I love this channel
Two things, one I love this movie and two, I'm gonna have that BALLS DEEP song stuck in my head the rest of the day
Blue dress with a blue background and they named her Dr Krippin 😭😭😭
Lmao i laughed at that one to
Ok you got that Dr. Crippin joke was str8 gas cuz 🤣🤣🤣
I like this theory very much 😂
I like the 2nd theory the most and very terrific job as usual
Variety is the spice of life! Love and gratitude for this...idk man, your Dark Rey vid is still #1 for me-gonna be hard to top haha
I'm guessing that whoever was smart enough to set up the trap, could tie string to the head of the dummy and turn it, to be convincing bait
Or it's a sign of him being crazy
2 vids less than a min you are forgiven.
I like the multiple ideas. You sound logic and reasoning to come to these conclusions and it makes me want to watch them all over again great job keep up the good work.
Director: Watches this video
Also the Director: *I think they're on to me*
If Anna is a vamp and it represents cancer then her surviving after 3 years to show up to the safe zone would be like cancer going in remission and coming back and spreading
I LOVE the Anna is a secret vampire theory, brilliant! Keep up the great work. 😃
The cancer theory makes it a better movie
love the TNG mind blowing clip
This is the most fun RUclips channel I've found so far!
This video is definitely food for thought 😎😎
god damn you
I love that you have multiple options to choose from!!!!!!!? Great stuff right here!!! God bless you all today Shalom
Theory #3 was a "DAYMN!" moment for me man.
I like the multi theory method and find the last one most convincing, especially if you combine it with the perspectivism of the first one
Its always so chaotic in my mind and its even worse when I try to make all of the ideas make sense at once.
Dope video! Also...Anna being an evolved vampire makes sense for sure. It was always out of place for her to be out at night and happened to "save" Neville.
This is a fantasticly well-crafted critical thinking analysis of the film. Bravo!
dude fits in the "what if this never actually happened" into every video
Makes me think he is applying something that affects him to every movie he sees.
The Anna is a vampire take, would make so much more since to the story, for sure.
The idea of Will being the cure for cancer, the dark seekers the cancer, and NYC the body, tripped me tf out
@5:54 lmao every time they had a random new actor in that seat, I was like “oh he/she is gonna die this episode” 😂
@Whatisantilogic THANK GOD I'VE SUBSCRIBED TO THIS CHANNEL !!!!!
You Always change my perspective on movies ALWAYS ! Literally no Joke After I'm done watching your Theory Videos, I stare at my bedroom Wall for an hour and just think Life is a lie in Disguise 🤔.
SUBSCRIBER FOR LIFE!!!!!
The more theories the better. Your brain does the good stuffs!! Keep up the awesome work
Damn never thought of it that way Anna is the freaking vampire
I just discovered your channel and LOVE the analysis. So much fun to consider.
Yo that was definitely an eye opener 4 me straight blew my min nd i think wit tha way u put it together its like all 3 theory's is 1 theory wit 3 critical pieces
Love your ideas man. Would love to watch a movie with you and talk about it. Woo, the depth you go to is amazing.
Dr Crippin got me CRYING!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
All of them, I just found your channel and I’m hooked.
This is awesome! I'mma watch whatever you make at this point your content is 🔥🔥🔥
As far as your ideas, they fit into one with a little adjusting, that's what seems best. I see the movie so differently now 🤩
It's Sad, All Of These Theories Are Sad. Great Job! I Like Multiple Theories In One Video, Really Gets The Mind Going.
This is great, I’m gonna sub & binge your videos man. Keep up the great work
All the theories had me hooked but the last one makes so much sense haha if its the last theory that would make i am legend go up in my book.
Thats a wild plot twist/ending
That is some deep dark shiza right thar (Anna being the new dark seeker). The ending of slaughtering the little town of survivors is way flocked up and I love it. Thank you for bringing this idea to light.
Randomly came across this video & immediately liked & subscribed after I saw @6:36....I swear I thought the same thing!!!!! 😅😆😂🤣 And you added the crip walk in the background?!?!! #dead
Both styles work in their own ways. The single theory videos are more focused, while the multiple theory videos are more in-depth about the topic.
I like the cancer theory, but based on the original analogy, wouldnt the humans be the cancer and the vampzombies be the 'healthy' cells?
The 3rd one is the best one I've heard of and would be dope if they did that for a pt2
That’s crazy but Genius at the same time.
your mini theory of her explaining the cure for the cancer, and it being visualized through out the movie was crazy
I think theory 2 is very strong! You made so many valid points. However, I like the morbid idea of Anna being an alpha vamp
Love seeing you drop a new video
Just discovered this channel pretty cool
She should've already had a pack on
her.
Ana couldnt respond to Dr Neville's message bc she listened on the car radio, jesus dude. He broadcasts his message on all AM frequencies
I like the 2nd one, and I love how your mind works. Keep it up!
That anna is a vamp ! Hey man great job i really like it when Ordinary people are able to add layers to a movie that wasnt all that great and make me wanna Watch a movie again
multiple theories!!!!!!!! seriously enjoy these videos!!
They don't show me your videos even tho I subbed months ago. I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL. keep doing what you do.
I always thought something wasn't right about Anna showing up the way she did. Your theory makes perfect sense.
YES! He's back!!!!
I needed this to get me ready for 2022.
Great review, one theory is good but the multiple theories are great. I like this way better and thank you for giving us a choice.
Dr. Krippin💀💀
