#danganronpa #goncharov
Goncharov is a brilliant underrated masterpiece. I also watched it with my dad when I was younger, and absolutely loved it. The aforementioned motorcycle chase scene always really stuck with me because it was very shocking but also had absolutely wonderful cinematography, and I was so surprised when I watched this video, because as a huge Danganronpa fan, I replayed the first game countless times but never noticed the parallels with the iconic scene. So thank you for enlightening me! Goncharov is truly one of the movies of all time.
I actually thought Monodo's execution was based off a story called (I think) Little Black Samba, were a bunch of tigers steal from a boy, and start fighting over his things (In my interpretation, Mondo wanting show his strength and fighting his Brother over who's better, could also be interpreted as Mondo 'stealing' the gang from his brother), eventually the tigers chase each other around a tree to the point they turn to butter (His execution) and the boy takes his things back (In Mondo's head, his brother getting his gang back). But honestly this is a much better explanation for the execution. His execution has never made sense to me, and my best thought was his insides got turned to liquid and changed to butter. This makes sense and makes the execution much more brutal and less out of place in the darker THH executions. (Imo, THH executions, minus Mondo's for the whole butter joke, were very brutal, getting your skull caved in, getting burned alive, getting crushes knowing your impending doom is right behind you and there is no escape etc etc) I also think if it is the inspiration behind the execution, its ties to the mafia could also be a slight foreshadowing to the ultimate yakuza, kinda the japanese mafia, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu.
absolutely stunning analysis. as a devoted fan of both of these pieces of media, i can't believe i missed these parallels. ill have to experience both side by side asap, ala dark side of the rainbow
Ah, glad to see someone pointing out the thematic similarities finally! Dare I say it... Gonchanronpa?
I did get the feeling that something was off about this video even before I reached the end, but I gotta admire your commitment to the bit.
Oh! I never thought of these parallels between THH and Goncharov! 👀 Good to see other people are getting to know the movie!
I can’t escape goncharov I thought I was safe on here gaaah
I THOUGHT I WAS SAFE FROM GONCHAROV ON RUclips NOOOO
idk what any of this stuff you talk about is, but your interest in skullgirls inspired me to look at the game. Seems pretty good. Branching out about other stuff would be cool.
I've never heard of this movie but I'll honestly say that this video was still super interesting, great work
Does he know
Edit: he does know
@@ThePotionMaster413 I get that it wasn't a real movie, that was from before I saw the disclaimer that the end
I’m not going to pretend that I’ve been a long-time Goncharov fan like you and a lot of other people here, but since learning about it this year, I’ve become obsessed! It’s crazy how it’s reframed moments from other media like this reference in Danganronpa, the episode of Friends where Ross becomes involved with the mafia (very obvious to me now 🙄), or Marge and Maude’s tender kiss in the Simpsons season 4 episode, “Hom-charov-er”. I’ve been trying to find as many videos about this masterpiece as I can, so thank you for making this!
Incredible analysis, my friend.
Nice stuff, but also your guideline rule #3 for the comment section is pretty funny to me for a few reasons:
- You could just age restrict the video if you feel like children / teens under the age of 15 shouldn’t be watching this kind of content.
- Can’t really control who watches what video irregardless lol. People lie all the time when signing up social media and such. I’ve even done that before. Can’t stop kids from doing that.
Really, all of that responsibility falls onto the parent and the kid as well. Nobody is forcing kids to watch things they aren’t curious about already lol.
i can't control it strictly, but i can provide a guideline and insist that, you know, the MA15+ rated game i talk about constantly is, in fact, intended for older teenagers and adults. youtube does not have an age restriction beyond 18+ and i have bills i need to pay.
This was a great analysis Aeris!
I like when anime contains references most weebs wouldn't even understabd
I cannot escape.....
Damn, you got me good.
Ayy New Aeris Vid really Nice. Axtreme.
How did you even manage this? Like how many tries did it take.
one....?
OMG GONCHAROV!!!! HAVENT SEEN THAT MOVIE IN YEARS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Due to this video I’m adding a film to my watch list
I couldn’t find any platform that was selling it or any streaming service that had it. If anyone finds a way to watch Goncharov please tell me.
@@Yourlocalfemboy11037 Goncharov doesn’t exist. It’s a fake film and this video is a joke
That sucks
Me knowing nothing about Goncharov: interesting
Ok so either I’m dumb as fuck(which is a possibility) and I don’t remember getting the notification or I didn’t get the notification and only found out about this video when I looked back on your channel to rewatch an old video
Did anyone else have this problem?
great
Why'd you gaslight me like this
For everyone saying they saw Goncharov when they were younger and aren’t being satirical I think you’ve been Mandela Effected cause Goncharov isn’t a real film. I only know that cause I watched to the end of the video
Huh.
Neat.
You should so a how to write a Prologue
Wait was this just an elaborate shitpost?
Off topic but just wanted to say: I think shuichi kinda overrated
