Crazy how his nanotech improved over the course of 5 years.
Went from being fairly slow in IW to near enough instant with it being thicker and more durable.
The bleeding edge suit was more combat focused aparently while this one was more focused on holding the stones.
Tony learned his lesson when he fought Thanos. He spent 5 years tinkering and improving the design and durability massively.
During his fight, Thanos could shatter the Mark 50 Infinity War suit like glass with his bare hands. But this Mark 85 Endgame suit is far more durable. Thanos was smacking Tony around pretty hard with his fist, but the Endgame suit never fell apart.
Tony also added more close range weapons too to deal with Thanos. He has a beam shield and energy sword that he uses to duel Thanos in the final battle.

As much as the pure CGI suits are on the worse side, I appreciate the fact that this suit has a slightly more rigid and mechanical feel to it in spite of still being made of nanomachines. The IW one was so smooth that it looked more like a bodysuit with metallic sheen than armor.
Between the faceplate closing and other components snapping into place after forming rather than being skintight from the get go, it feels more..."Iron"? Like it has actual parts instead of just being a free flowing mass.
natc I actually like the way how they were able to combine the best aspects of mechanical and nanotech suit ups.
They were able to integrate the quick suit up of nanotech and still make the visually satisfying factor of the armor pieces fitting in together.

The perfect combination of old and new suits:
_Utilizes the advanced nanotechnology_ *but retains the traditional red & gold color scheme and combines the mechanical armored concept with muscle concept.*
Makes a suit out of nanotechnology, the mask still closes with a thunk.
But it's more satisfying

I like this nanotech suit because the way the face plate closes, it’s like the original suits.
I love how he took a note from his battle with Thanos who was able to effortlessly tear sections of the suit to pieces, so Tony programmed the nanites to form individual pieces of metal plating reminiscent of his earlier armors to give the Mark 85 more structural integrity instead of the nanites forming just one single shell over his whole body that could crack like glass

Fun fact about the mark 85 : Tony chose to combine the properties of the mark 3 and mark 50, because as seen in Infinity War, mark 50 was somehow very portable and quick, but also very fragile and easy to break. Whereas the early marks didn't have that easy to break problem because their parts were directly screw-dived together. Thus, Tony merged those properties and you can actually see both of the suits properties. First there is the known 50 spreading, and then the parts glue together

thats because the 60 fps is not real 60 fps, is just interpolated frames, looks smooth but not the true way how the animation Will look if is being done at 60 fps.

@@lookherelooklisten7850 No, it's definitely frame interpolation. If you go through the 24 fps cut frame by frame, his face doesn't get distorted. It's only when you playback the interpolated 60fps cut that you get distortion, because the computer had to guess what the in-between frames would be. CGI artists aren't usually that sloppy in shots like this.

I don't think that's what actually happened, they wanted to show Tony's advancement throughout is life in the MCU, if you watch the movies you can see he keeps advancing his suit. Example: his suit wasn't fast enough to catch Rhodey when he was shot down in Civil War. So then he made an advancement where his suit can boost to reach places faster (Infinity War) also his nano technology sticks to his skin so nothing can get inside his suit like Ant-man did in Civil War.

I remembered back when I played LEGO Marvel Avengers. I used the Superior Iron Man suit (the suit up is basically same as this one) and I thought, "His suit coming out from nowhere out of his body is so ridiculous and unrealistic. That kind of suit up will never happen in the MCU). But now, Marvel can literally make anything believable and realistic (although it will never happen irl).
This shows how much Marvel is evolving and how much they pay attention to details. Just another reason why Marvel or The MCU is likable.

Mark 85 both feels like a downgrade for me, because it's not as smooth as the first nano suit.
But it's So Much Smoother, and it has those mechanical vibes we got from before age of Ultron.
clock it. His new suit regenerates faster. Instead of having the machines rebuild the full part, it creates multiple pieces at once and snaps them together so that it forms faster.
His intention was to do the first snap himself before banner offered, so he built the suit to handle the power of the stones with ment it had to be bigger, stronger, and heavier than the lightweight skin tight mark 50. That's my theory anyway.
That 60fps is sooo satisfying!
