I really like Emily Blunt as the Snow Queen. She's an amazing actress. And Charlize Theron is as good as usual.

Loved it.
Took everything good from the first film (which there was plenty of) took out the bad (Kristen Stewart....sorry), added Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain, and then focused more of the movie on the good actors/actresses. That is how you make a "Sequel".

It's actually a prequel and a sequel at the same time. First I think it will focus on their backstory/bio if you will and then the film will continue right after the scenes that happened in the Snow White movie. Because in the description, ir says ".... Eric - the huntsman who PREVIOUSLY helped snow white defeat Ravenna..."
What's wrong with Kristen Stewart? I liked the first one.
India Wings I liked the first one, but she was the worst part of it, quite noticeably. Mind you it's hard to look good next to Theron and Hemsworth, but still.
I think she is a better actress than most people give her credit for, but she does kind of have one look and isn't really great at showing varying emotions.
The trailers focused on the two queens but in the movie it actually focuses on the huntsman...

The story before? Isnt the second part of the movie taking place after Snow White though since the queen here knows who the Huntsman is?
Yeah this looks like it makes no sense. When did she get a sister? Why didn't their mother tell the younger sister the same thing about using beauty as a power? Where is her brother? How is she a queen if she hasn't killed the king yet? If this is after, why did no one in the first movie (including her brother) talk about their rivalry for the throne? And of course how are she and the huntsman so familiar with each other in this movie?
It looks like this movie will make all the nonsense.
good point, maybe it'll explain later on in the movie, or it could just be a major flaw in your plot

The 'before' in this movie is before the events of snow white and the huntsman, in which Ravenna had already conquered and ruled several kingdoms (one of which I'm willing to bet was her sister's before she left to build an ice kingdom.) The 'after' is after the events of SWandH, in which Ravenna had died, and her sister had recovered the mirror.
As for the whole mother thing, I don't know. They could easily say she had a sister and just never mention her since they weren't THAT detailed about her past, only that she had been taken by a king as a child.

This is probably a bit late answering your question since you asked this 4 years ago but, he was only in 1 scene and it was him telling the huntsman about the mirror. But there's more scenes of him in the first movie, you can also see him at 1:18 in the blue

The first was perfect in every way. But now we go back, dawn before day. Its going to be just as amazing. I hope to see this prequel before i start aging.
I saw this today, it was amazing. I'm definitely getting it when it comes out on dvd! I had the chills like the whole time and I have to say it's one of my new favorite movies;)
3 Things we know for sure:
1. Charlize theron aint dying!
2. The mirror wont get broken!
3. Emily Blunt looks like shes enjoying her magical powers!
At least this Ice Queen has a backstory that makes the audience get some sort of an understanding why she became evil. As opposed to the glorified Mary Sue type characters Disney is accustom to. No offense I love Elsa but Freya (the ice queen in this story) is much more cooler with a plausible backstory. I also like how Universal appreciates the common folklore of European fairytale as opposed to watering them down.
who else kept replaying the part when she screamed and turned into the ice queen.. I had goosebumps.. can't wait till this movie comes out..

This Movie start when Snow White wasn't born then like 16 to 20 years go by and then were at the timeline that was after snow white
No, I believe, the evil queen goes back in time and changes the timeline. She makes it so that Snow white didn't exist...ever. And the timeline THEN continues...without Snow White.
