👴 Old Composer Reactions 🤘
"Do not fear Death. Death is always at our side. When we show fear, it jumps at us faster than light. But, if we do not show fear it casts its eye upon us gently and then guides us...into infinity." -Bull, Cowboy Bebop.
Those scenes in the tent with the old seer are some of my favorite in the anime. All of them.
Amazing scene man…..😢
"I've seen things, you people wouldn't believe, attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments, will be lost in time like tears in rain... Time to die..."
Very reminiscent of Vangelis' "Love Theme..." in Blade Runner.
how light perceives time? well from the moment its born to its end it already saw the end of the universe. So When we die is like when we weren't born yet, 13 billion years happened in a instant before us. And the entire remaining time of the universe will be just gone as soon as we die too. So just like light, when we die, we see the end of the universe. And in the meantime, our loved ones that are gonne just in stand by, already saw the end of the universe relative to them, and just waiting for us to live and enjoy the rest of our journey
😭😭😭
This track makes me cry every time I hear it. It's half because of the context of what is happening in the show when this plays, and the the other half is just how stunningly beautiful this song is. I love it.
hearing it during the episode makes me a hideous crying MESS. i can at least listen to it on its own and just get misty eyed.
Same 100%
i was to say the same thing.. the context of this song on the anime.. is just... i'm crying right now just remembering
Just reading this reminded me of that weight, and suddenly the onions are here
@@SeraphusInferisyou’re gonna carry that weight
I danced to this song with my wife at our wedding. We both absolutely love this soundtrack, and this was a must for us. Such an incredible song.
This is a beautiful thing. Glad you got to experience this!
Man that shit is beautiful. I hope to dance to that and Waltz for ZiZi at my wedding, whenever that will be. Currently 20, almost 21
You and your wife have great taste brother, well done
That's so amazing..must have been beautiful!
Thats really cute
The saxophone melody is a character motif.
Yes, it’s “Goodnight Julia”
@@DefenestrateYourself It is more convoluted than that, since it originates from the melody from a music box originally owned by Julia called "Memory". The saxophone version is an interpretation by another character.
@@mattd8725 Yes it is a character motif. It's about the non-binary character 'Gren i believe his name was'. He is a saxophonist, and he is a space lion because of how hard he fought-&-struggled through life. I believe those saxophone phrases are his last words to himself, his last feelings, or as i may call them Roars, since he is a lion in space.
@@doyle8120he was not non binary. He was a man that was experimented on after being framed by vicious for a crime he didn’t commit . Being non binary is a thing you are born with you aren’t forced into it. He was a however a “gay” man since he said “women aren’t my style”, but he didn’t feel like he wasn’t a “man” until the drugs forced on him caused him to grow breasts . Please get your facts straight before commenting
english is not my first language so i figured non-binary isn't necesserly the since-birth thing. My bad.
I love trying to describe space lion to people, it’s such a weird but insane song and I feel like everyone in the world needs to listen to it at least once lol
And it has such a progression in musical narrative. Starts with this ethereal song, very melancholic, and slips to a tribal joyfully song.
@@atomickid Every time the chants come in I can't help but smile
"weird" and "insane" probably are not good adjectives to describe it. You should be respectful.
@@davidolinger3948 i never realize i do that as well. always makes me feel like the end of a bad storm and everything is gonna be alright
Son: A star just fell from the sky.
Laughing Bull: That is not an ordinary star, my son. That star is the tear of a warrior.
Son: What warrior is it?
Laughing Bull: A lost soul who has finished his battles somewhere on this planet.
This scene always gets me whenever I watch Cowboy Bebop and this song is a huge reason why. The music is really allowed to take center stage in this episode and it turns an already emotional scene into one that I can't help but tear up at every time I watch it or hear this song and think about it.
As I watched the original TV series in 1998 in Japan (restricted 11 stories, then authentic 26 stories), I can tell you that the last thing Laughing Bull said to his boy was different. Instead, he said: 「グレートスピリットを信じられなかった哀れな魂」 "The pitiful soul who couldn't believe in the Great Spirit.."
Seeing the end of Jupiter Jazz pt 2 for the first time late at night was a profound experience. Even during the credits, I was completely spellbound.
And then the camera shot pans into the stars and we see the ordinary people as little points of light going about their day at the space gate. I don't know. It feels so distant an peaceful.
Makes me cry every time.
Amazing show!
Yoko Kanno was basically told to go ham for the entire show. Every time she does, it's amazing.
And ever since, no one has every told her to do otherwise.
Have you heard The Real Folk Blues? That’s the song that plays at the end of every episode of cowboy bebop and I’ve been super into it the last couple days.
There are too many excellent tracks on that 26-episode show. They just crammed them in. There are 200+ episode anime without as many great songs.
The "for these days" version of Real Folk, from a 2020 virtual session, is really stripped down and just a powerful take on that tune, imo. It's on Kanno's youtube channel and worth a listen!
@@daeval947 hell i wouldn't even call it stripped down, it's just a dang jam
@@daeval947 thanks for the recommendation. Just watched it. Love how bare bones it is. It’s like something you’d hear at an open mic bar or something.
The Seatbelts
Yoko Kanno is a genius when it comes to music. She does not miss no matter the genre.
Even with ghost in the shell
@@nerdyzombie83 Or with anything else! Over the years (actually decades already), I collected around sixty released CDs with her music. And for good reason!
Man, shoutout to Masato Honda on the saxophone. He's an absolutely legend.
I hope you watch this anime and give us your thoughts!
It's only one season and the episodes are like 20 minutes
While it really is an amazing anime, anime itself is an acquired taste. I'm not big into anime anymore, but I've tried to get many people to give certain things a try... its difficult, lol.
@@tryingtotryistrying It's between episodes 22 & 23.
@@GeminiWoods Very true. I'm like you, where I was never that big into anime. This is one of the few I like, though, due to it being deeper and more mature than your typical anime. It's also well written, voice acted, and animated, with a killer soundtrack and has great characters with meaningful story arcs.
@separator94 This convo unlocked a core memory... Freaking Tenchi Muyo. I LOVED that show as a kid and the movies. God, that was 20 years ago. I'm getting old.
It is so wonderful to see someone get moved by this song in real time. It's been one of my favorite tracks for almost 25 years. I described it once to someone like this: "You've heard soul music, but Space Lion is what happens when you open up a soul and it sings to you."
my wife walked down the aisle to Space Lion :)
beautiful…
Interesting
The Cowboy Bebop OST is honestly one THE BEST soundtracks ever created for a show. The quality is top notch and the creativity is rarely matched. Would love to see you do more!
Don't forget the Space Dandy ost. It comes close to Bebops in terms of creativity.
You've so far chosen some really good ones from Cowboy Bebop. If you do another one, I would suggest the song "Blue". It's pretty incredible.
That implies that not every song is a really good one.
@@shaxplosion The whole ost slaps. But that doesn't mean they are all equally good.
for me, my favorite is Call Me Call Me
@@basketcaseface813 The thing about Call Me Call Me is that it hits like a truck in context.
Blue is a damn beautiful song though.
Blue is an amazing track for sure (both versions). So many great tracks on the OST. My favorite, besides Tank, is Yoko Kanno's version of Ave Maria - and that Polish tenor is amazing (and it fits in perfectly in the anime).
The Cowboy Bebop OST is legendary. I'm sure others have suggested this one before, but if you're looking for an incredible and unique anime soundtrack, you should check out the Berserk (1997) soundtrack by Susumu Hirasawa, specifically "Gut's Theme" and "Forces".
I second Guts Theme, Behelit would be fun as well!!
Couldn't agree more. There is something magical accomplished here for sure in Cowboy Bebop music, that no other anime ost could ever reproduce. Beyond unique. Everyone should listen to this ost. We need a full video with all the ost, all songs. Its too good to pass up.
I would suggest the soundtrack to "Noir", music my Yuki Kajiura, especially "salva nos" and "canta per me". Kajiura-sensei is almost as prolific and genre-aware as Yoko Kanno. If those two ever collaborate on anything I think my brain would explode.
Also i think earth would be a fantastic song to listen to, these past few weeks ive non stop been listening to earth and space lion
This track is played at the end of a tragic mid-season two-part episode. There's so much tragedy in cowboy bebop, parts of it really make you feel, and the music is a huge element of that.
This is the song that inspired me to start learning the saxophone. Still to this day, this melody is one of the dearest and meaningful to my heart. ❤
this song is the reply to an earlier song in the series, Goodnight Julia. The sax and piano playing the two lovers who ended up apart. Space lion ends her story, one where she's finally at peace.
The band is The Seatbelts, but the composer is Yoko Kanno. You'll do well in listening to as much music from her as possible. She creates music in classical style, rock, pop, jazz, electronic, experimental.
Start with the whole Cowboy Bebop ost you're listening now. Don't need to react with us. Just enjoy it.
Then move on to Wolf's Rain, Vision of Escaflowne, Macross Plus, that album she made based on the Bible, Resonance in Terror, Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex. Everything she mades is golden.
Literally the John Williams of Japan. Not in tone or style but in renown and reputation. She’s a fucking genius and I worship the ground she walks on and I’m not afraid to admit it lol . Jk ……but only slightly
Yuki Kajiura is up there as well, esp the .hack ost, Key of the twilight will forever be my childhood song.
@kinglear6150 She made an album based on the Bible? Do you know the name of it?
@@unseen575 In a way. She made the music for a TV special on the Bible. I'm not religious myself, but that album is, pardon my pun, glorious.
Ohh, man. You gotta do the real folk blues. One of my favourite tracks of all time. And it fit so perfectly with the anime. Would also love to see you react to Blue, cant listen to it without getting a bit teary eyed.
This song has always reminded me of the word "Nostalgia"
The beginning is the, quite typical in this show, soul-crushing-yet-beautiful city jazz that reminds me of the everyday grind, the emptiness you feel after the long week's work and the allure of the civilization, the possibilities, the beauty and stillness of the city at night.
And then the song transitions into...
...Peaceful tribal music. The aura of community, belonging and ease.
Now that I think about it it's not a coincidence this song's titled "Space Lion". Those two parts, Space-y sad jazz and tribal Lion are having a conversation about "Is the future really better than the past? Or is that just nostalgia talking?"
...And then you get to the end, where both parts meshed together in perfect harmony.
Goosebumps. Just pure beauty.
.. damn i felt that man.. you have a beautiful imagination! bless you 😊
Oh wow i didn’t even recognize this song until those odd vocals came in at 7:18 and i immediately remembered how this song reached into me to tap an indescribable emotion as I watched the show.
Space Lion = goosebumps Every.Time.
As he approached that 7:15 mark, I kept saying, "get ready for it dude" and sure enough when it hit and he smiled I knew he felt it in his soul. 🙌🏿
You gotta just watch the show man…. I’ve watched you react to a few songs from this show and they effect you very strongly. And bebop was written at the same time as the music, sometimes the show played off the music, sometimes the music played off the show. But I promise you when you watch scenes like the one set to this song YOU WILL CRY . It’s not just the best anime soundtrack ever but the best soundtrack to any my Hong ever….. I promise you man just watch it
Anything Cowboy Bebop-related is instant watch for me!
cowboy bepop is masterpiece. Animation, characters, music... Everything about that anime is just breathtaking
This song is a bittersweet celebration of life.
I love this track. It starts with such a melancholy sound and then moves to such a peaceful almost hopeful sound. It feels like a journey from loss to closure.
Love your work, thank you Geebz! I actually requested this when you did Tank and am so glad you did! :) I also second taking a look at Samurai Champloo, the other classic anime from Shin'ichirō Watanabe which has a phenomenal soundtrack
Space lion is literally a lifesaver for me. I can’t really express how much I love this music, so let me put it this way, over the past 10 years my iTunes list says I’ve played this track about 8000 times. It has helped me navigate some very difficult times, times when I desperately needed a trance to live in just to get to the end of the day. Honestly I feel like it is a very dear friend who will let me stay in his home as often as I want and for as long as I need. It is the antidote for so many of my issues and makes my life better without fail. Thank you so much RPGeebs for your analysis and to see you share my experience every time I listened to it. Please continue with your journey into the Cowboy Bebop OST, but I advise you keep a big box of tissues near you when you queue up Blue, you will be a big sloppy mess. Now excuse me while I find that other box of tissues. ❤
"Ask DNA", "Don't Bother None" and "Blue" are strong recommendations if you want to continue down the Cowboy Bebop rabbit hole. All highly recommended. The composer Yoko Kanno is legendary status! She has done equally as well with other Anime, to name a few stand out tracks there is "Gravity" and "Strangers" from Wolf's Rain as well as "Inner Universe" and "Cyber Bird" from Ghost in the Shell, all certified hits with great vocals and varied styles.
This got me weepy in the best way. For me this is nostalgia so strong it hurts. A yearning for a time I know I can never go back and experience for the first time again. Wow, I'm gonna walk into work a mess lol.
Rain (demo version), rush, the egg and I, and waltz for zizi would be great reactions from this ost as well!
jett: what are you bringing in?
spike:.........nothing.
jett: hurry up and get inside. we're taking off.
I am SO excited for you to go on this journey into the music of Cowboy Bebop! That soundtrack is singularly incredible. It's absolutely genius in ways that still aren't fully appreciated. It fully stands on its own as wonderful compositions, but with the context of the show there would be a lot more moments where you get the chicken skin friend! If you do find yourself looking for a show to binge, check that one out. Like the soundtrack it's good on its own merits and stands out against most anime as a very grounded, and yet fantastical story.
Another good one from this show is Waltz for Zizi
I listen to cowboy bebop soundtrack for years since i was in secondary school, now as a grow adult, most of the songs still hitting me the same like the first time i heard it
The scene made me fall in love with track and will forever be on my playlist. Child: look a star is falling, child that no shooting star, that’s a soul of a warrior. Child: what’s a warrior, a lost soul who has finished his battles somewhere on this planet, a pitiful soul that couldn’t find his way to the great spirit where he awaits everyone……….that goes hard too hard. We need more people like you sir reacting to music that really touches people spiritually
Here's a few thoughts. Space Lion stands out because of the spacing, the odd but slow pacing of the song. With the syncopation at times i feel its not 4/4 time... Which gives that awesome kind of african cadence. In a weird way the space from the title is about how this song slows down. Its much emptier than the other seatbelt songs which are chaotic with layers upon layers jib jabbing in and out. This song more than others feels... intentional in every note.
You really should listen to the rest of te soundtrack and/or watch the show! It's literally a masterpiece. Lots of Hollywood producers cite it as a creative influence.
This song always takes me to another world. Such a brilliant track.
Your Peter Gabriel/Phil Collins comparisons were spot on! I haven't stopped listening to these songs since Cowboy Bebop's original airing over 20 years ago, so I appreciate you sharing a new perspective.
Goosebumps starting from 7:17 anyone?
What a masterpiece 🥲
One of my favorites from the soundtrack! Good to see you giving more of cowboy bebop a listen! If you’re looking for another suggestion from this soundtrack, I’d recommend Bad Dog No Biscuits. That one is absolutely wild and overwhelming in the Jazz instrumentation. It plays over a really fun chase scene too.
classic Yoko Kanno, a track like this lives in most of her works for Anime; every macross, Ghost in the shell SAC, Escaflowne, etc
Yup it’s official now.. you gotta check out each cowboy bebop soundtrack and then watch the anime
He hasn't gotten into watching things yet..he's still trying to figure out how to play his first modern video game
This song is a personal favorite of mine. I listened to it and was immediately obsessed with it. Some music just touches you and you can't explain why. This is that song for me.
The entire soundtrack is honestly amazing.
Bebop was really good on it's own merits with complex characters and unique stories with such memorable dialogue. This music though . . . . up to the next level.
ELM is pure joy 🥲
I suggested to two people and they hated it. Said it was boring.
If you're looking for another hidden jem from CB, try "Green bird" it's a short one but it's good. 👍
Other Cowboy Bebop tracks:
The Real Folk Blues
All Cowboy Bebop Anime OST is a perfect !
Hopefully you keep coming back to cowboy bebop because there are some really good bangers in the ost for the show
Words cannot describe how much I love this song. Saw someone comment about dancing to it at their wedding and just man… it really speaks to how powerful this stuff is. This was a song made for an animated television show. Yoko Kano and the Seatbelts went above and beyond for the soundtrack. Sometimes I wish I could go back and rewatch it for the first time and experience the music all over again. Honestly, Cowboy Bebop is one of the perfect examples of how when creatives get together go completely full in to a project, it just creates a masterpiece that transcends time.
I get a different impression of the vocal. The chant portion is actually less African sounding to me but more like the type of Japanese chant in “making of cyborg” from ghost in the shell. The Japanese Shintoism chants. I am guess it’s either because of my Asian background or the higher pitch female vocal.
PS. the life action movie is not even close to the level of greatness of the original anime
That chant is based on an Eastern European style if I’m not mistaken
When this song hit at the finale... waterfalls. 😭 Yoko Kanno is such a dope and legendary composer/artist. If you haven't seen the original animated series, it's def worth a watch! It's a classic for sure, and the music really brings it to life.
Ghost in the Shell (1995) is another anime film and later series ('00s) Kanno composed for. Lots of great tracks to choose from there.
As for Cowboy Bebop, I gotta recommend "Tank!". It's the opening song for the series, and just a really great jazz track in general by The Seatbelts and Kanno. I think you'd enjoy that one. Kanno composes solo a lot of the time, with collabs here and there, but for Cowboy Bebop she collabed with jazz group The Seatbelts for the tracks with live instrumentation.
This reaction was a weird one for me, because I literally just got a hankering for hearing this song again (it's been a while), and was just curious if anybody reacted to it. How the planets align. 😆 Pretty niche for reactions, so I thought it was an ez no-go. lol Glad to see it hit the same spot in you as it did me! This one is hands-down my favorite off the OST. The rest of them are excellent, but this one just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. 😊 And a little bittersweet, if you know the show (no spoilers lol).
Edit: Nvm, I totally skipped over the part where you said you did Tank already. Can't believe I missed that one! D'oh! :p
As great as Ghost in the Shell was, Yoko Kanno was not a composer for it. GitS was Kenji Kawai
Another must listen Seatbelts track is "Blue" from the album of the same name. Superb capturing of emotion
Yoko Kanno is a genius.
Every song I would recommend from this series. but my favorite stand outs are the Opener "Tank" and Ender "The Real Folk Blues", and "Blue" which is that buttercream frosting on an already perfect cake.
Reminds me heavily of vangelis, particularly the love theme in blade runner
Haven't listened to this song in a minute and man did I need to
Anyone know how to request songs/OSTs for Geebz to react to? I’ve got a few I’d love to see.
Some of Yoko Canno's other notable works.
Macross Plus, Escaflone movie, Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex.
that synth in the background just draws you and forces you to close your eyes. we know
My absolute favorite track from this anime. I just love how the saxophone weaves around the bass and singing like a bird in flight.
Episode 13 of Cowboy Bebop. "Jupiter Jazz part 2"
These tracks are why a lot of us think Yoko Kanno ("Seatbelts" is the fictitious name of the band) is the best soundtrack composer ever (ok, maybe Maurice Jarre might be #1, but she's #1A)
This and Goodnight Julia, masterpieces
Space Lion is played at the end of episode 13. The scene is: the main character approaches another character whose spaceship was shot down and is now dying. After they exchanges some conversation the dying guy says he wants to return to Titian, Jupiter's Moon, as that is where his war buddies are buried, on the battlefields of Titian. The main character puts him back into his spaceship and tows him up to space and sets his spaceship adrift towards Titian.
As you stated this is all about being adrift in space.
Fun fact the Seatbelts(band) & Yoko Kanno(composer) released a virtual session of space lion during the pandemic right after SpaceX's first maned flight. If it wasn't planned it was serendipitous with the timing. ruclips.net/video/vu_YGgZQ9DE/видео.html
Obligatory: Thank you. Don't miss reacting to Blue from the Cowboy Bebop OST. That song completes the show and serves the same function.
Pleas react to Seatbelts- Too Bad Too God
Man, Space Lion still gets me, to this day. I listen to it with some frequency and sometimes it just hits so perfectly I can't help but be back in the anime and feel all that emotion. I absolutely adore Yoko Kanno for the multitudes of amazing music she's given the world over her lifetime.
My favorite track is Rain(female vocals). There are two versions, a male and a female. Both are fantastic.
Also, once you get a few more tracks in. Might I suggest doing a reaction to the show itself.
I think your comments of how the music integrates could be quite interesting.
Geebz, you've been so over the moon over just the two tracks from this show you've heard so far. So I implore you to watch the whole show. Cowboy Bebop may be a Japanese show, but its aesthetics and sensibilities, are so heavily rooted in western culture that it doesn't really "feel" like it was made in Japan. It's an absolutely mesmerizing cultural melting pot of a show. It's only 26 half hour episodes (and a movie if you're so inclined, which has one of the series' best tracks) and last I checked it's on Netflix (there is also a live action adaptation; it's not quite as bad as everyone says, but it pales in comparison to the original). I can assure you that we would love to hear you gush about the series and the soundtrack as a whole. If it helps, there were quite a number of instances in the production of the show where the animation was done to the rhythms of the musical score, rather than the score being composed around the animation. This is especially evident during the sequence in the movie featuring the track, "What Planet Is This?!"
I'll also leave some more tracks from the show I would recommend listening to. There are half a dozen or so albums of music from this single show that cover a wide spectrum of genres, and there really isn't a single miss.

Beautiful song and great analysis, man! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Space Lion, what a piece.
I hope you do a couple from the movie, it's hard to imagine them without the excellent animations they go so well with!
And if be interested in if the animations match how the track feels in reaction 🤓
Cowboy Bebop is a gift that keeps on giving since 1998. The show was amazing and touching, but the music is immortalized.
I've commented before, i'll do it again... Yoko Kanno has VAST discography. She's done so SOOO much music in her career, and almost all of it is just phenomenal. I probably wouldn't be a musician if it wasn't for her. Her music made such an impression on me back in the day (25 years ago or something).
You'd do yourself a disservice if you didn't go through her catalogue.
"I think it's a platform-sandbox combo kinda game," that's pretty spot on Geebz. I like how you're incorporating some of the lingo you've picked up on your journey here. Terraria can be thought of as Minecraft in 2D but of course Terraria also sets itself apart in many ways as well.
"Very journey oriented" Yeah, you could say that....
Every episode of Bebop is episodic, and every episode begins with Tank! and ends with "The Real Folk Blues" - except for the final 2parter, and the mid series 2parter, Jupiter Jazz, about a lost saxaphone player, a veteran or a war on Titan, who's a character foil for both the male and female protagonists. This song plays to a slow pan from the final scene up into space, across the stars, and ends on Saturn.
Waltz for zizi, trust me.
Oh man the thumbnail takes me back 17 years so GOOD
What upset me about the Netflix live action version of this is they kept TALKING on top of the music. The animated version doesn't do this and gives much more respect to the musical cues.
I believe this is from the Jupiter Jazz episodes, yeah?
You should listen to some Trigun '98 OST.
The opening makes me think of the sax song from the original blade runner movie
Its pieces like this that I loved the sax as a kid and wanted to play it (still haven’t) but nevertheless, love Yoko Kanno and her works!
You should start! I started playing the piano so I could one day play goodnight Julia- took me two years but now I can. Unmatched feeling.
Yeah this song is about a cosmic journey for real, the guy this scene is about just left his body and died and his soul is journeying back home to his home world which was his last wish. And the shaman on his home world is telling a student that the meaning of a big shooting star they are seeing is that is the soul of a great warrior who didnt have the strength to stay on his true path is coming back home. (He was a corrupt cop who was the cause of his partner losing his organic arm, the whole time his partner believing a criminal was responsible for it. His last act was to pretend he was gonna shoot his friend again so he could be killed and make up for his years of regret to Jet (one of the main charachters, the one with the cybernetic arm.) Jet held him in his arms and realized his gun wasnt loaded enough to have full intent to kill him, and he asks Jet to take him home at least he will die on the way then passes away. I just watched this episode for the first time the other night, I was listening to the OST today and Space Lion came up, it was so good I had to look up the track itself and found this in the related videos. I thought it was an amazing song, your review was great I learned more about music today.
You're confusing two different characters here
Wow! One of my all time favorite songs! I'm thrilled you're listening to this 🤙🍻
I'd LOVE it if you went into some more Anime Music. OSTs are nice, but I feel like that's more deep cut stuff if you neglect all the great Openings and Endings that exist. I'll list a bunch here.
Angel Beats: My Soul Your Beats
Attack on Titan: Guren no Yumiya
Spy x Family: Souvenir
Tokyo Ghoul: Unravel
Tales of Zestiria: White Light
Neon Genesis Evangelion: Cruel Angels Thesis
Death Note: What's Up People
Sword Art Online: Crossing Field
Highschool of The Dead: Highschool Of The Dead
No Game No Life: This Game
Rascal Does Not Dream Of Bunny Girl Senpai: Kimi no Sei
This isn't necessarily the best just ones I know are classics and good that are the first that came to mind. Theres literally hundreds of amazing anime Ops/Ed's out there (openings and ending)
Reminds me a lot of Love theme from Blade runner, gets me in my feels every time
you should do the whole soundtrack, it is amazing from start to end.
One thing about the whole Cowboy Bebop OST is that it's meant to go with the visual just like any soundtrack and you need to have both to really fully understand the genius of composer. I'll attempt to give a bit of background without giving out too much plot.
==== minor spoiler alert, real plot line is much more nuanced and is part of the central arc ====
...
Essentially, this is a send off music. In the plot, there was this soldier who fought a brutal war on Titan (the planet), and have gone through terrible things and was never able to escape the war and the scars the war gave him/her. There was some final confrontation, and as the soldier is fatally wounded in the end of the episode, the soldier asked Spike (the main character) to help him/her to see Titan one last time. The soldier was helped into the spacecraft, and Spike towed it to space, and release the cable, to see the spaceship drifts into space. Far away somewhere, Laughing Bull was talking to his son about the shooting star the son saw. He commented that it is the tear of a warrior who has finished his battle in this world, and couldn't find his way to the realm where The Great Spirit is waiting for everyone.

Oooh not the one I'd expect you to go to next. Get some tissues ready when you listen to Blue.
Lovely, lovely music from The Seatbelts. I just ordered for myself a vinyl set of 2 pieces which includes this song, and 21 more, in total, and even though it was a bit on the pricier side for me at the time - I don't regret it one bit! I only hope it is the colored version of the vinyl(not sure that there is an un-colored one, since for the edition I ordered it seems all are in some kind of color set) since it was a bit pricier, and I'd love to see that on my gramophone, buut even if it isn't I will be happily enjoying the music itself in the crispiest and cleanest way possible :3
Small update - the vinyls have arrived since some time now, and I've listened to them a few times - it's the colored version and it's amazing! 😁😊 Even some of my friends that don't watch anime enjoyed it quite well.
