There's so many figures in these lines where I'll like the robot mode of one line, but like the vehicle modes of the other. It's not often one or the other wins all categories for me.
+Jay Rodimus In the Convention images of Hasbro's Galvatron the canon looks more like the Takara version's. Looking at the poll results I was honestly surprised by how many people prefer Hasbro's version. In any case, thanks for the support. As far as subs go, I think I've benefitted from regular scheduled uploads as I've tried to upload at least 3 times a week for the past month or so. For me, the key to getting this down has been in having videos done a week in advance. This is generally what I do with the exception of a few vids such as breaking news videos i.e. TF5 title announcement.
Here's the ones' I choose... Blurr - Takara Legends Galvatron - Hasbro Titans Return Hardhead - Takara Legends (Though it's just because I'm dubbing Headmasters and familiar with the Takara version. I like both.) Scourge - Takara Legends Skullcruncher - Toss up. I'm happy with either.
Did anyone else notice Blurs chest is different on the Takara version, not just in colour bu also the transformation, look closely on the darker blue were the Aurtobot symbol is, there's more length between the Cockpit hatch and the I guess bonnet of the car mode.
I took some closer looks and did some other "research" and found out that you are in fact, incorrect. They do look like it's different but both pictures are being taken at different angles, and you can't see that much detail in the trans-blue.
What??!!! But the Titans Return one (Not "trans") it's at a more upward shot so you saying the "angle" are different doesn't make any seance, if it was then shot of the Takaras version would be the one were I WOULDN'T HAVE NOTICED because it's at a more lower angle. Look the dark blue part just in front of the cockpit is not on the T.R. version.
Awesome video!!! I can't wait until they release so we can get the live compairisons. In most cases I'm really digging both versions and more then any line before it I think I'll be buying both figures. Keep up the great work.
+Toy Man 1976 I really would like to do Takara vs. Hasbro comparisons for all of the figures - the only real hindrance I can see would be with money. So far I have a good amount saved up for both Takara and Hasbro's figures, and I've been trying to be smarter with how I budget my money so most of my "spending money" will go towards the figures. The main one I'm worried about is Fortress Maximus - considering the Takara one is $229.99 I might resell it after the review/comparison.
+Dingocrikey you gonna do a video comparing them btw make sure to meantion the fact that hes likely going to come with a master sword and a fortress head (ps the guy who forms fortresses head is celebros), and appearantly this is confirmed not rumored that he will come with a sound chip that will play the original headmaster op song by the same japanese singer
They are all pretty much a toss up for me. I'll wait and see what the rendered figures actually turn out like. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
+Dolkkar Toyznstuff No problem. Takara vs. Hasbro videos are actually some of my favorite to put together; I just have to make sure I don't ramble too long on any particular figure, lol.
I think what I would do in the case of Scourge, is to get the Takara version as the main figure and a couple of the Hasbro versions to serve as the Sweeps.
Back around the Generations toy line a Deluxe Class Scourge was released. It had some significant diversions form the G1 design, but I thought was a pretty cool figure. As far as I know there hasn't really been a decent Galvatron remake, but there was a Blurr released in the Generations toy line; however, while the figure itself is a really nice mold with cool colors it doesn't really work as Blurr IMO.
I'm behind on my TF knowledge- where's the best place to learn what's coming out and when? Excellent vid! I like Blur (L) far, far more in robot mode. Mho
Someone needs to repaint skullcrusher into red, white and blue and give it a TR optimus head(if you watched G1 you would know where I'm going with this)
You should do an video on LG fort max now thy we got some official pictures of the hasbro and Takara one and we do know we will be getting the master sword from the Takara Verison, and also apperantly and sound gimmick that apperantly allows fort max to play the headmasters theme song likely
For me: Blurr - Takara Galvatron - Hasbro Hardhead - Hasbro Scourge - Both. Will get Takara for Scourge and Hasbro for generic Sweep Skullcruncher - Hasbro
good list though I feel like takaras hardhead is better only gripe is the brown chest and thats it also the takara skullcruncher seems to be the better verison for me at least because it actually has a lot better looking head and it doesn't look that bad as much as the hasbro and the sweeps idea is an good idea
Jetfire48 Thanks. Hardhead and Skullcruncher are Hasbro for me, as I prefer the toned down colours for a tank and croc. Thats really the only reason. And yeah, soon as I saw Takara Scourge I knew he'd be my Scourge and I'd pickup 2 Hasbro ones as sweeps.
+Mark Drakan actually thats the rendered photos meaning they will be toned down more than the actual figure and both figures using real photos of the figures are practically the same shade of grreen like neither one is lighter or darker
Hasbro gets too much hate in my opinion. They still make the toys! The hasbro computron however IS pretty inexcusable. But look at legends springer compared to regular hasbro springer! Also I like the chrome on the leader jetfire
+Ben Ulrand Agreed. I know at times I've been pretty harsh on Hasbro, but in the end they do still make decent/good toys overall. Also, I don't think it's always the case but looking back I feel as though I've suffered from the "grass is always greener on the other side of the fence" effect.
lg = movie accurate tr = more war colors lg is like a walking target tr have a more reasonable color for old fans tr is for fans who want the bots to look like they have been in war a lot so they changed colors for a realistic vibe
+LegoReader12345 hello there's a photo post by Bay of how "prime "will look in" the last Knight "(it's a face of optimus with fading red/blue to Grey along with a purple color eye)
Holy crap I never saw takara scourge before this vid. Thank god I don't have to settle for the crappy one basbro made but besides scourge I'm liking all of hasbros figures more than takaras
one thing about Takara; they will produce show accurate material regarding color schemes but the quality of the you sucks hard. Flimsy plastic and poor quality control issues because the toys are made from cheap plastic in China. Hasbro versions are made in China as well but they are inspected so the best product are released to avoid lawsuits. Takara don't give a damn. Need I say more?
Jetfire48 it's the other way around. Hasbro uses the Takara molds since the eighties. In the eighties, Takara transformers were made in Japan. They were top quality because they consisted of diecast and abs plastic. Through the years, the company found ways of making things cheaper so they went with China to manufacture the toys. Hasbro copied the traditional ways of Japanese manufacturing. That is the reason why our G1 toys were the same Takara toys just renamed. Hasbro still does this but they screw up with paint jobs and cartoon accuracy of toys that people go for the Takara look-a- likes.
Actually that was what happened at first and part of g1 bit soon hasbro started making figures but eventually Takara took over for a while again for making figures (except g2 I believe though Takara still had some g2 releases), but eventually hasbro started making figures again plus why would Takara retool the figures they made today?
Then that also doesn't explain the fact that hasbro created the combined wars line by hiring American toy designers for it also this is why titans return has so many new molds
+Dingocrikey it's probibly because he's dark purple and EVERYONE loves dark purple. Also galvatrons treads on the TR version are painted black on the bottom, it's just a bit hard to see
all are nice but for me, as for Blurr and Scourge - Takara nailed it.
Agreed.
I think the tr version of scourge looks more like a scourge and the lg would be the sweeps
There's so many figures in these lines where I'll like the robot mode of one line, but like the vehicle modes of the other. It's not often one or the other wins all categories for me.
Galvatrons's helmets are different
No they aren't
yea they are take a close look at them side by side.
+Nestor Breban III they are...
Eddie B they are the same
The legends hard head looks like rhinox with the color placement
I picked up the Titans Return Galvatron the other day. I like it, very faithful to the G1 colors.
ugh, if only the Legends cannon was on the hasbro galvatron. Great video as always dingo, hope you keep getting more subs.

No problem.

Blurr - Takara Legends
Galvatron - Hasbro Titans Return

Scourge - Takara Legends
Skullcruncher - Toss up. I'm happy with either.

I'm a rambler too, so I understand. Either way, well done.
+Dingocrikey haven't their been official non-render of the figures
I think what I would do in the case of Scourge, is to get the Takara version as the main figure and a couple of the Hasbro versions to serve as the Sweeps.
That is a really good idea!
I love how Takara Legends looks like the show mostly. darn you Japan!
I hope they one day do a non headmaster version of Galvatron, Scourge and Blurr
Back around the Generations toy line a Deluxe Class Scourge was released. It had some significant diversions form the G1 design, but I thought was a pretty cool figure. It looks thrown on if it has to much of a second color in random spots like scourge
Those look like different head-sculpts. The "Tr" version VS "LG" (your abbreviations hurt the video- maybe clear it up a bit? Excellent work!
I'm behind on my TF knowledge- where's the best place to learn what's coming out and when? Excellent vid! I like Blur (L) far, far more in robot mode. Mho

+Mark Drakan also its appears takaras hardhead has toned down colors more than hasbros....
When can they ever make a megatron and optomis the same size instead of a leader and voyager
I'm sorry, but Takara's versions are better across the board without the need to justify or argue for its reasons.
Victor F The Hasbro Galvatron, Hardhead and Skullmash erare decent enough to compete with the Takara versions though.
+Dingocrikey Takaras toys are usually better but they just cost way too much for me
Personally I disliked the time they chromed me I honestly would of went Takara if I hadn't bought the hasbro Verison before hand
+Jetfire48 I just love chrome and loathe you
Ben there's two legends springer figures btw from Takara one based on the cartoon the other not
"TR" head sculpt is more pointy at the tips, or (and/or) am I crazy?
they honestly would be more rounded though...
lg = movie accurate
tr = more war colors
lg is like a walking target
tr have a more reasonable color for old fans
tr is for fans who want the bots to look like they have been in war a lot so they changed colors for a realistic vibe
they aren't thpugh they really don't look like that also those were renders and they looked much brighter...
Do you think that we will see steeljaw, strongarm, bludgeon, and defensor in tf5?
im thinking of quillfire, fixit, nemesis prime, unicron, and windblade
Yeah them to.
Hopefully not quilfire though, his vcoice is so annoying!
+LegoReader12345 hello there's a photo post by Bay of how "prime "will look in" the last Knight "(it's a face of optimus with fading red/blue to Grey along with a purple color eye)
Fun fact this is bay we are talking he would likely kill all those characters off pretty quickly though
Holy crap I never saw takara scourge before this vid. Thank god I don't have to settle for the crappy one basbro made but besides scourge I'm liking all of hasbros figures more than takaras
even legends blur? and legends skullcruncher (the head looks better once you see them side to side)
Jetfire48 oops forgot blur yeah takaras is defiantly better. But yeah I kinda dig TRs head more
what's the takara line version called?
the takaras line of figures are called transformers legends
+Jetfire48 ah
What the difference??
one thing about Takara; they will produce show accurate material regarding color schemes but the quality of the you sucks hard. Flimsy plastic and poor quality control issues because the toys are made from cheap plastic in China. Hasbro versions are made in China as well but they are inspected so the best product are released to avoid lawsuits. Takara don't give a damn. Need I say more?
You never realized Takara is reusing hasbros molds they commonly have the same problems as the hasbro ones
Jetfire48 To control the market on both ends. Foreign and domestic.
Then that also doesn't explain the fact that hasbro created the combined wars line by hiring American toy designers for it also this is why titans return has so many new molds
Honestly, I like titans return Galvatron way better.
That seems to be the popular opinion. I'm honestly surprised that more people don't prefer the Takara version.
Yeah. I made a custom Galvatron and had to use the shade of purple that the lg version has. I just like darker colors.
+Dingocrikey it's probibly because he's dark purple and EVERYONE loves dark purple. Also galvatrons treads on the TR version are painted black on the bottom, it's just a bit hard to see
Agreed.
EVERY HASBRO ONE SUCKS COMPARED TO TAKARA....... HASBRO STEP UP YOUR GAME...........…………………YOU ARE LITERALLY LOOSING THOUSANDS OVER THIS
+John Golles Nope.
+Husky in my opinion
John Golles I dont really know, i think both are OK.
Galvatron looks better, Hardhead looks better, Skullcruncher looks better.
+Jarmo Verriet yeah takara verison look better than the TR verisons except galvatron also why didn't you meantion takara scourge and blur
