I have the Takara Legends version and the one thing I like is the Headmaster looks like a mini Megatron. This was one the of the first Legends Figures I bought in the line. This shows what Takara can do over Hasbro though lately Hasbro has stepped their game up. I did not know about the Reprolables head...bought one just now thanks Chef!!!
nope. i watched the cartoon again, galvatron definitely has the lighter purple. and i checked with my buddy's old G1 galvatron toy by hasbro, definititely the darker purple. mostly gray though.
Yosef Wiezman true first release was grey and blue not purple but the second release collector's edition is very light purple that is what Takara got their color from not the cartoon most accurate representation of Galvatron is from fans toys and they usually go for cartoon accuracy they chose the Deep Purple because that is what he appears like in the cartoon I left all the necessary links for you to check it out yourselves Hasbro's definitely cartoon accurate Takara is there collector's edition toy accurate here's another link G1 collector's edition Galvatron www.transformertoys.co.uk/images/transformers-toys/collectors-edition/galvatron-purple/galvatron-purple-030.jpg
In the case of the Legends story, the Decepticon Headmasters got sick of Megatron's behavior, so they built a Transtector to forcibly make him into Galvatron again. He (Megatron) actually had to be rescued!! That pesky Transtector would be problematic for a couple other issues until it was finally destroyed. This is cool, but like with the MP29 & LG24 versions of Shockwave, that shade of purple is way too light. Oh yeah, I'm not sure if it's still around, but there's a part on Shapeways that enables you to have the cannon mounted on the *side* of the arm where it belongs.
Niiiiiice. As far as his color goes, fellas remember this is Season 3 we're talking about and distinctly remember his purple color varying from episode to episode.
I know Galvatron, given his prominence in Earthrise and definitely Kingdom, is likely gonna have a Kingdom or Studio Series figure (hopefully very soon), but for now, this seems like a good way to scratch the itch. Oh, I have an idea! Since you kept both versions (and hoping you still have), I checked, and Legends is closer to the more lavender purple of Movie Galvatron (albeit a tad too bright), while Titans Return has Season 3's darker purple. SO, Legends Galvatron is sane, menacing, Leonard Nimoy-voiced one, while Titans Return is the hilariously psycho, trigger happy, off-his-rocker, Frank Welker one :D
I just wonder why Takara always color their Decepticons like "Ube-Purple". Makes me want to go to my nearest Goldilocks for some Ube Macapuno cake. LOL.
Takara is just so much better then Hasbro in my opinion. In terms of quality, Takara takes the cake, and the toy even comes with a comic! Now I wish I could read Japanese
LOL the Takara edition is NOT cartoon accurate. I don't know why they insist on that lavender tone, but that's not the cartoon model color. They did it with the first PVC figure, then they did it with the G1 Galvatron reissue and now this. Sorry, but this time Hasbro totally wins in cartoon accuracy.
It's a tiny bit brighter, yeah, but it does lean closer to movie Galvatron colors, whose purple was bluer, whereas Titans Return was closer to the darker purple of Season 3.
He looks so much cooler and that New helmet makes him shine. Awesome
yup. thanks, bro

I wish he was the more dark bluish purple like he was in the 86 movie. They never get the color right to my liking.

that's awesome, man! thanks for this bit :-)
For the helmets just brush on future floor polish it's self leveling so it doesn't leave brush strokes it will give them enough gloss
great! thanks for tip, bro :-)

thanks bro :-)
yeah, the shades of purple kept changing
quiero comprar una de esas para mi galvatron japones, donde la consigo... me gusta mucho....I want it!!!
Little bit of glossy top coat to the helmets should fix the matte look
yes perhaps
The Hasbro version is not toy accurate, for that matter the Takara version is not cartoon accurate either. Its like a happy middle ground for both.
yes, perhaps
I just recently bought this piece😊

yes perhaps, and i'm hoping the rumors about him being in the Kingdom line are true!
sadly, i'd already sold off both these figures...
Galvatron wasn’t sky blue he was light purple like the mania king variant
I just wonder why Takara always color their Decepticons like "Ube-Purple". Makes me want to go to my nearest Goldilocks for some Ube Macapuno cake. LOL.
LoL :-) haha, yeah, me too bro
