My perfect onslaught would be the takara version with the hasbro bruticus backpack thing. Besides that vortex from takara and hasbro everything else, and yes even blastoff just because I think takaras looks absolutely hideous
I actually think that hasbro did a great job with this, I mean, Blast off is a jet, and he's also a repaint, and so is Vortex. But it looks good. And for the people who didn't get Quickslinger/Slingshot get to have a version of him. (I couldn't find a Quickslinger or Break-neck/Wildrider) and I know that Blastoff was also kind of a part of Bruticus' chest-plate, but it just doesn't look good. I think CW did a WAY better job with Bruticus.
Hey I commented this on another one of ur older videos but I really want ur thoughts on this. What if Lockdown was collecting the sparks of the autobots and decipticons he killed for the creators (quintassons) because as most people saw he kept Ratchet's (My favorite autobot :( ) Spark intact. What if he was going to give them to the creators for some use, maybe to reprogram them or use them for power. Maybe they all contain a little peice of the core of primus and they want to collect as much peices as they can. Or maybe they are just trophies and hes a hunter. Ur vids are awesome keep up the work! :D
Thanks. It's probably best to post suggestions on newer videos as I check them much more often (even if the suggestion isn't related to the video's topic). I currently have videos set up for the remainder of this week and the next, but I'll be sure to discuss it in an upcoming Q&A. I was found it interesting that Lockdown removed the spark, and it appeared he didn't destroy it. I think I was going to discuss it in a video a while a go, but I never got to it so thanks for the suggestion.
I really like the CW's version and hated the UW's until I rewatched some of the G1 Episodes with the Combaticons and I can see that UW Really did a good job at recreating them in their proper colours and even made a proper Blastoff to go with it. In either case both are good and if I have the chance to get the UW's Bruticus then I will.
I did purchase all the pieces for the Hasbro version of Bruticus and... I can understand the retcon as to WHY Blast Off was just a redeco of Firefly/Flight of the Aerialbots. But it still doesn't seem right without Blast Off being a space shuttle. Should've just saved my money to buy the UW version.
I wish Hasbro would release Blast Off like they did Rook because I'd like to get one to repaint (unless Hasbro paints it like the show) because Takara dropped the ball on his colors (and that big chest for that matter). I would paint him more of a uniform scheme instead of that light and dark brown randomly placed everywhere. I don't ever remember him having any light brown like that. He had mostly dark colors and purple that created somewhat of a maroon illusion or feel to him. I honestly like Hasbro's color scheme better here (which never happens) but I just wish he was a Shuttle.
I had the G1 toys of this figure as it seems that is what Hasbro seems to replicate here, but personally I prefer more the cartoon look which is what Takara tries to replicate which it looks like they do a good job doing. I'm shooting for that version, not to mention the new (& correct!) Blast-Off mode.
CW Shockwave is LG24 with a headmaster pilot Cancer. I guess comparing both versions is possible for you since Legends Shockwave also sports the cartoon look.
In almost every case I like the individual figures from the UW better. However as BRUTICUS I like the CW just a little better as to me it looks for G1. Thanks for the great video.
I can't stand either of the Blast Offs, the Combiner Wars one has completely wrong alt mode and head sculpt and the Unite Warriors one has that unbearable orange all over it. I would rather get the PotP Blast than either of these. For Brawl, I like the Combiner Wars one more, because once again Unite Warriors has unwanted orange on the top of his head, and is brown instead of green for some reason. For Onslaught I like the Unite Warriors one more, because of the way better paint and colors in general. For Swindle, I think the Unite Warriors one is superior in absolutely every way and the best of the Unite Warriors set. For Vortex (my favorite of the Combaticons) I love the paint for the Unite Warriors one but I don't like the changes it makes to the mold, that being changing it from him having 2 blades to 4 blades, for helicopter mode I think it's fine but I'm mot a fan of how they tried to fold it up in robot mode, and I'm not a fan of the paint on the Combiner Wars one. I DO NOT like the paint for the Combiner Wars Vortex at all. For Bruticus I CAN'T STAND the chest plate for the Unite Warriors one, but I think it's head is an improvement on the Combiner Wars one. The rest of my problems and the things I like with the individual ones still apply when combined as Bruticus. So my final choices are Blast Off: neither I'll get the PotP one or none at all Brawl: UW Takara Onslaught: UW Takara when not combined and CW Hasbro when combined Swindle: UW Takara Vortex: UW Takara
UW onslaught looks so much better than the CW verison its pretty awesome they could replicate the bruticus changing color when combining on the UW verison
People saying UW Blast off has a closer G1 color scheme, watch the comparison at the end. It's way too bright, if it was the same shade as CWs, and the purple was darker too, it would be 100% more accurate
Is there a reason why they paint them differently for the different regions? Is it because of demographics or test groups? Or is it just to provide a uniqueness to each region?
Brawl takara Swindle takara Onslaught takara Vortex takara Blast off hasbro (prime Wars trilogy figure) I will be getting the takara set and putting the prime Wars blastoff on it Maybe
I'm keeping my CW one in Bruticus mode with UW vortex. Then I have all the UW on robot mode with the CW vortex on. I'll switch the UW swindle gun for the Hasbro swindle gun and there we go!
I've preordered Unite Warriors Burticus the other day thou I might create a hyrid with Onslaught for Bruticus because, I like the chest on CW verison more than the unite warriors (have a CW Onslaught added to my collection) but I also like the shuttle of Blast off along with the extra blades on Vortex! I kind of hope, one day, they do a repaint of Bruticus as Ruination from RID/Car Robots, I'm not a fan of these G2 decos, they just look horrible! One thing is for sure, when I got Bruticus, he'll be upgraded to have posable hands and feet, with the PE kit! To get the kit that expands the weapons for Onslaught, I'll have to wait sometime as its been ordered with unite warriors Computron, who looks a lot better than Hasbro's by miles with its colour scheme!
Brendan Yim They are better suited to the combiners in general, where's the Hasbro ones, just don't really look right to me, but then again, the feet mode look even more stupid which is why I got the upgrade kits in the first place! The only combiner I'm passing on, is Victorian (Whatever their called) because I dislike the colour scheme in general, really, really badly done to me, everything about it says "This is terrible, do not bother with!" Sky Reign on the other hand, looks great, thou Wheeljack is the failure in terms of paint job of the limbs!
+superomegaprimemk2 i actualy just got my sky reign set (i initaly passed because of the sky lunx figure) but i got it anyway i painted the robotmode more g1 accurate on wheeljack and the lights on the alt mode
The regular feet are horribly small, I would prefer if the PE ones weren't a massive block instead made more g1 style, where they had the bulk for the toe and flat, like make it go around the base of the figure and still have the articulation, but the PE kit has an opposite effect but worse, the reg hands are quite a bit bigger than the reg feet but the PE ones have drastically bigger feet over hands
Whenever the new Journey to One episodes come out I'll be discussing them. Until then I don't have much to discuss as I haven't kept up with the G2 story too much (other than listening to the TTV Podcast occasionally), and since I'm going to try buy and review all if not then most of the Titans Return figures and their Takara counterparts for reviews I haven't been able to buy a ton of the 2016 sets (which is frustrating as I really like the ones I own). If you have any Bionicle topics that you'd like to hear discussed you can give suggestions, and I might discuss them depending on the topic and whether I have the time - which is a bit short right now as I'm working on another channel along with this one. If I can't cover the topic in a full video I might at least try to discuss it briefly in a Q&A.
One thing I noticed is that when comparing the toys to g1 accuracy it is actually a bit unfair to the CW versions in my opinion. I say this because while the UW toyline tries to be as close to g1 as possible, I noticed that the CW toys are closer to the source's representation (the comics). So it might be better if you did the comic characters first and then show the g1 for people who would rather go for g1 accuracy. Just thought I would put this out there as I see this happen with almost every new toyline.
I don't know if you know this but they make the comic book's designs based off the toys. You're basically saying the toys are now automatically better because they were in the comic books and the comic books used the toys' designs. It's the same with the monile games like Earth Wars and Forged to Fight
The Takara Shockwave is better except for the color. I wish you'd compared them. Glad your reviews are no longer Takara is better and more even handed now.
I would like to do something like that one day, but that would be a huge undertaking - might just do it line by line rather than looking at all of the lines together. Also, it be a very opinionated video as I don't see any way to be objective about it.
Takara wins bye default as always. Hasbro uses uggly colors bye comparson and cheaps out (slopy fit and finish) and slaps on stickers every chance they get to be cheap. I'd always pick takara over hasbro.
+Ben Ulrand agreed just look at toys r us masterpiece bumblebee they managed to mistransform him and give him a crotchplate and now #bumblecrotch returns
Just love the closeness of the colors for the Takara version. Just got one and I'm loving it.
Hope to see you come back soon. Really enjoyed your reviews.
For me:
Blastoff - Hasbro
Brawl - Hasbro
Onslaught - Hasbro
Swindle - Hasbro
Vortex - Takara
For me Vortex Takara Blast off Takara Swindle dosent matter Onsaluaght Takara Brawl dosent matter
+Sellout Swindle yeah onslaught from takara looks so much better
+Jetfire48 agreed the black head dosent go well with the other colours and the purple kills him so bad and the grey
It was the colours and placement of colours that turned me off the Takara ones.
Only thing I like colour wise is Bruticus head.
+Mark Drakan personally I think hasbros colour placement turns me off but we all have our differient cups of tea
i'm a g1er, so takara tickles my fancy
Same
Joshua slosser well you might want to get cw vortex because that's more g1 accurate than takara.

brawl, swindle and onslaught are more G1 than takara
Well done, I went with mostly UW but I did vote CW on a couple.
I like how takara follows the design of the g1 cartoon bruticus
My perfect onslaught would be the takara version with the hasbro bruticus backpack thing. Besides that vortex from takara and hasbro everything else, and yes even blastoff just because I think takaras looks absolutely hideous
its hideous because most people haven't seen his cartoon model recently...
Jetfire48 even if it is similar to his cartoon model it still looks absolutely atrocious
For Blast Off I hate both of them. I would rather go with the Power of the Primes one
I actually think that hasbro did a great job with this, I mean, Blast off is a jet, and he's also a repaint, and so is Vortex. But it looks good. And for the people who didn't get Quickslinger/Slingshot get to have a version of him. I think CW did a WAY better job with Bruticus.
though onslaught, brawl, vortex, and swindle were handled better on the CW verison
though onslaught, brawl, vortex, and swindle were handled better on the CW verison
+Jetfire48 I agree. And I'm still waiting for his comparison between CW Shockwave and LG Shockwave which he skipped.

that is a beautiful wall at the start

What is the deal with the difference? Is it licenses that force them?
I love your videos but the blurry background picture you use hurts my eyes.
Is there a reason why they paint them differently for the different regions? Is it because of demographics or test groups? Or is it just to provide a uniqueness to each region?
different companies in different countries tahts why
I've been asking myself that question recently. I haven't done much searching on it, but I'd really like to know.
Takara doesn't have the budget constraints Hasbro has. That means more paint.

Winner= takara

Brawl takara
Swindle takara
Onslaught takara
Vortex takara
Blast off hasbro (prime Wars trilogy figure)
I will be getting the takara set and putting the prime Wars blastoff on it
Maybe
I'm keeping my CW one in Bruticus mode with UW vortex. Then I have all the UW on robot mode with the CW vortex on. I'll switch the UW swindle gun for the Hasbro swindle gun and there we go!
what abput UW bruticus in robot mode?
+Jetfire48 I know jetfire
+Ben Ulrand not talking to you though....
Bruticus? Had both. Sold the Hasbro but kept Unite Warriors simply because of Blast Off shuttle. Paint mirrors the animated Bruticus better.
Dingocrikey can you let us know when unite warriors bruticus releases
Big Bad Toy Store has the release date marked as June; however, that date could be pushed back as BBTS just did with Combiner Wars Groove.
+Dingocrikey ok thank you
+Sellout Swindle I LOVE YOU (and ur toys rippling muscles)
I love uw blast off but it makes more sense as a jet
I've preordered Unite Warriors Burticus the other day thou I might create a hyrid with Onslaught for Bruticus because, I like the chest on CW verison more than the unite warriors (have a CW Onslaught added to my collection) but I also like the shuttle of Blast off along with the extra blades on Vortex! +Brendan Yim and my blastoff has a difficult time keeping the perfect effect hand in the socket.
Brendan Yim
They are better suited to the combiners in general, where's the Hasbro ones, just don't really look right to me, but then again, the feet mode look even more stupid which is why I got the upgrade kits in the first place! Im suprised that takara diddnt nake brawl green, looks like i gotta repaint my brawl now...
Takara's version is cartoon accurate
It sounds as if a lot of people were disappointed with the Takara Brawl not being green.
bro, at 0:04, those are all yours??????
a new Transformers the last knight teaser trailer of Megatron
I've already seen it, but thanks for mentioning it. I'll have a video discussing the image up tomorrow.
Ok
I like the CW version, gives me more of a retro transformers vibe.
combiner wars vs untite warrors
blastoff takara
brawl takara
Onslaught takara
swindle takara
vortex hasbro
Bruticus hasbro
nice
does takara use the same mold as hasbro?
sure, but i don't know for blast off
Hasbro Vortex is based on the original toy, so you can't really blame it for "trying too hard".
Takara DEFINITELY did better not only on the molds the bruticus looks like the g1 counterpart way more then the hasbro bruticus
bro onslaught, swindle and brawl are way more G1 than the takara version
Dingocrikey when are you gonna do bionicle again
Whenever the new Journey to One episodes come out I'll be discussing them. Wait which one is hasbro and which one is takara pleas comment
debi andmm eliza deza hasbro left Takara right, he says it on the vid
Unite Warriors Vortex looks better it’s my favorite Decepticon Besides Blackout
i have the cw swindle
Can you name the best to worst design in transformers
I would like to do something like that one day, but that would be a huge undertaking - might just do it line by line rather than looking at all of the lines together. Also, it be a very opinionated video as I don't see any way to be objective about it.
I feel that hasbro always colors them after the toys and takara does the show.
Seems to be the case, though I think there are exceptions here and there.
this whole combiner wars series
I don't really think the toys are "incorrect." I think they're both correct.
Both then the rest unite warriors
Hasbro hands down for mw
no competition Hasbro easy for me
bruticus both
onslaught both
vortex both
CW BRUTICUS FTW
UW ftw
Plsdogalvatronus!!
brawl both
Takara is better
takara wins
fitst
unite warriors is better escept for brawl
swindle UW
Unite Warriors Superior
Combiner Wars inferior
Ehhh I choose CW but Vortex, they just BLEW IT. He looks so stupid, UW Vortex all the way!
also onslaught FTW
+Jetfire48 eeehh, that is for you, the brown doesn't color match and it makes me have OCD
blast off CW
Takara wins bye default as always. Hasbro uses uggly colors bye comparson and cheaps out (slopy fit and finish) and slaps on stickers every chance they get to be cheap. I'd always pick takara over hasbro.
Hasbro sucks at stock images
Honestly fuckin look at them! Can I say swez dingocrikey?
+Ben Ulrand agreed just look at toys r us masterpiece bumblebee they managed to mistransform him and give him a crotchplate and now #bumblecrotch returns
+Jetfire48 I haven't seen that but it sounds awful.
Unite warriors are way better but Hasbro is Ok
dod watch before u comment, brawl, swindle and onslaught are better than takare
Denis Mario I know but I like Takaras Vortex better I do like CW Vortex and I like both Brawls
Ew takara blast off looks atrocious, definitely hasbro.
The colours just look too bright compared to the cartoon. Ironically, the Prime Wars version of Blast Off has more accurate colours.
first
