Rolling Stone magazine recently named this the BEST Live Album ever recorded! He no longer tours. I was lucky enough to see him Live about 8-10 times including the Live Bullet Album recorded in Detroit at Cobo Hall!
Some of Bob's biggest influences were James Brown, Chuck Berry and Smokey Robinson. He was deliberately trying to channel some Chuck on this one, and it's one of those short, high-energy songs he wrote when he was an opening act for more established bands. He knew he had limited time on stage before the headliner took over, so he tried to hit the crowd hard with as many songs as he could and whip them into a frenzy.
Bob is from Ann Arbor, Michigan per his introduction of band members on this album. I think his last tour was 2019. I saw him live three times in the 70's and 80's. Best live concert! Bob and the Silver Bullet Band always sound as good or better live than on albums. That's why "Live Bullet" is such a fantastic double album. When this song begins, it makes me think of Chuck Berry. Definitely Motown/Motor City sound.
Without question this album from start to finish is awesome. Seger grew up listening to Motown and infused it to his style of rock, blues and some country. Keep digging and playing his music, so much to cover. Thanks for the reaction!!
The Detroit sound is large with trend setting sounds and many Icons. Motown Records, The MC5, Ted Nugent, of course Bob, Grand Funk Railroad, Alice Cooper, Glen Frey, iggy Pop, Madonna, Kid Rock, Eminem
Nice Reaction, this is the album people fell in love with Seger. This album is so good! So many great hits on this album! Travelin Man and beautiful Loser is a must listen to together on this album. He was born in Detroit and grew up in Ann Arbor Michigan, this was recorded at Cobo Hall in Detroit.
Bob is also a great family man. When he made it, he bought a private jet so right after each concert, wherever he was, he flew back home right after so he could be home in the morning when his kids woke up before school. What a great and talented man! I love everything about him! I’ve been listening to him since the 70’s.
I was fortunate to have attended every tour since 1980. His last tour was 2019. It was already going to be his last tour, and then Alto Reed, the sax player passed away and Bob said he couldn't imagine without him, they had been together for 50 years
Damn your eyes how I envy you. Europe should hang its head in shame at all but ignoring Bob. He really is top of the pile. This week the UK announced next years Oasis ticket sales, they really are pathetic but that's supposedly the best they could come up with. Avoid like the plague and I was born British. Eddie and the Hot Rods did do a great cover version BTW.
Absolutely, what put it above all others is the depth of difference concepts, going from R & B, Rock, Jazz, Blues, and with Turn The Page Pop with Rock influences. These concerts were at times out of body experiences and am proud to have gone to double digit concerts during this time period. When he went Saccharine Ballad Bob, loads of us just could not do it., but the Teeny boppers and the Simps took our place so...
I was born in Detroit in 1963. Growing up, and only beginning to appreciate great music by 1975-6, THIS is the kind of stuff that permeated the culture on the radio then, and I & we, were blown away, carried away, in the poetry & artistry…..a special moment int time…never to be duplicated….🙏❤️🎭😎🎶
His album Night Moves was recorded at the famous Muscle Shoals studio where Aretha Franklin and Rolling Stones found a particular magic. But the key to the sound was the house band, The Swampers, that Aretha called the Greasiest Band in the land!
I lived in Windsor Ont. when this was recorded and could hear the crowd and a little of the music from across the river... I so wanted to go but I was poor and couldn't make it! I did the next best thing and stood on the bank of the Detroit River to listen as hard as I could!
You two have a tremendous amount of great rock and roll from the 1960s, 70s and 80s yet to discover. I envy you! It is great to see teenagers, especially, discover how great classic rock and roll is and then throw out their rap and hip hop albums. There is a reason 73% of all "new music" sold is at least 50 years old. 👌😉🎸🎸🎸
I saw this live and 2 other album tour concerts. They were all just like this Live Bullet concert. Rocked your brains out from beginning to the end. Halfway through the band would leave the stage and Bob would sit at the piano, soaked in sweat and sing a slow one like Night Moves. I remember all 20,000 of us singing along with him. After the song was over Bob says "Do you guys want to join the band?" I saw a lot of the great bands back in the 70s and 80s but Seger rocked us about the hardest! Thanks for the great memories, Bob.
Bob Seger Live at Cobo Hall! He's always great. Good thing I noticed this on YT cuz I didn't get this in my notifications. The Silver Bullet Bullet was ROCKIN'! PLEASE check out his song FAMOUS FINAL SCENE!
Great reaction, always love it when you love an old favorite. Live Bullet was recorded in old Cobo Hall in Detroit in 74 I think, his home stomping ground. It's the album that broke him nationally, he was big in Detroit/midwest for years before that. Every track on it is great, one of the best live albums ever recorded, it was a retrospective at that point of his last several years. You already did Turn the Page, Nutbush from Live Bullet, you may as well do Katmandu next!! and you'll have a bunch of the biggies covered from Live Bullet. Bob's voice is strong and unique, and he could deliver live.
I was a Seger fan waaaay back in his 'Ramblin' Gamblin' Man' days, & I bought this album 3 TIMES; on vinyl, then on CD. I was a medic in those days & had it in the ambulance for between calls... the rig had to go in for repairs & when it can back, my CD was GONE- had to buy it again, but of course it was worth it!
Bob is one of Michigan's best. He is from Ann arbor yes he is retired. I am fortunate enough to live in Michigan and you will see him around he might even stop in a local club and play a few. You can't go wrong with any Bob Seger song.
Iam a hugh Seger fan and have been for many, many years and have to admit i don't remember ever hearing this song.. Thank you so much for pulling it up. Brings me back to remember a Hank Williams Jr. song " O' D' in Denver" . Maybe to could listen to that.
For those of you old enough to remember this song was like a playing 33+1⁄3 speed LP at 78. ;o)

In mid 1976 I paid $5.50 for a ticket to a KISS concert here in Oakland California. After waiting for two hours for the show to start, they announced the opening band I had never heard of before could not make the show, so there will be a replacement band, and they brought out Bob Segar and the band. They played almost everything on this live album for about an hour and had the house rockin' like crazy. I kept thinking, "Kiss is going to follow this?? I don't know who this guy is, but he's indeed a tough act to follow." The next day I went to a record store and bought this "Live Bullet" album to re-live what I had just heard last night!
Check out Nine Tonight from the Live album by the same name. That is Robin Roberts on the key board. At one point in this live album he introduces all the band members and all are from Michigan. I am proud to say I was there, close to the stage. I was a senior in High school. The crowd was getting rowdy and Bob asked them to calm down and they did. It was crazy.
One of my cousins was at that "Live Bullet" concert. The whole album is definitely worth a listen all the way through. Y'all have already reacted to Turn The Page (the version from this same concert). Saw Bob & Silver Bullet for the first stop in their Against The Wind tour at Greenville, NC waaaaayyyyy back in the day. Awesome show. Bob played either guitar, keyboard, or nothing during that show, but sang every song.
Silver Bullet Band, Drew Abbott, Chris Campbell, Craig Frost, and the LEGEND Alto Reed (Tommy Cartmell RIP) Charlie Martin (although the drummer was a revolving chair) ...... Listen to Live Bullet his calls our everyone and where they are from. All from Michigan.
This is Bob before the top 40 and the Silver Bullet Band was with him through all of the hits too. I'm glad someone finally finding this gem of an album. Ohh and he was coming back for another song. Also I was at this Concert,I seen him 3 times in a 2 year span. Actually he's from Ann Arbor Michigan. Not to far from Detroit
This one was rockin' right out of the gate... Bob Seger can play the guitar and the piano, but this was his band playing in this one. And yes, Bob was born in Detroit...
The Silver Bullet Band when Live Bullet was recorded over two nights, September 4th & 5th, 1975 at Cobo Hall in Detroit and released in April, 1976 were........1. Drew Abbott from Royal-Oak, Michigan on guitar, 2. Chris Campbell from Plymouth, Michigan on bass, 3. Charlie Martin from Detroit, Michigan on drums, 4th-Tommy Cartmel (later changed his name to Alto Reed) from Birmingham, Michigan on Saxophone, & 5th-Robyn Robbins from Gross Point, Michigan on keyboards. Lead singer Bob Seger was from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Kudo's to Bob Sever showing his true talent and showing his live performance is awesome. A whole lotta words coming fast and the Silver Bullet Band is worthy to support Bob Sever and his fabulous career. Thumbs Up A&BJ . Great Reaction. I'm from Denver originally, but like Bob Sever I got out of Denver
A crazy good song writer and vocalist + THE best rock’n’roll funk band EVER = the best live rock album. I lived through college listening to this non-stop. Broke a lot of furniture
Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band is all family! Group has been together forever. Saxophonist Alto Reed was beyond…beyond!RIP Alto!! 🙏 Pine Knob concert in 2019 was beyond bouncing!! Bob and the boys can make a party go out of bounds!
Saw Bob Seger live in Boston, incredible live. So glad you picked one of his live songs! Let it Rock and Betty Lou is Getting Out Tonight are a couple of favorites from that live album, but there are many good songs on Nine Tonight!
Man, that joint was hoppin! Cobo Arena baby! Ive seen so many good shows there. Rush, Queen, Yes, Genesis, Heart, Styx, Tom Petty, and all in the ‘70s! They dont do concerts there anymore, but that ol barn hosted the greata. Elvis even gigged there.
When Bob Seeger 1st started he was a straight up rocker!. He and the band drove a van all over these United States. doing endless gigs. This song is something that actually happened them! Check out the lyric video.
Recording studios at the time didn't want to make live albums because they didn't think people would buy them. The top 3 selling albums that year was 1: Kiss Live 2: Frampton Comes Alive and 3: Live Bullet
I have been goitto his concerts since the 80's. I cannot believe I missed his last concert ever in Philly in 2019. I had to go to 2 weddings both out of state. Thank God I saw him in Tampa earlier that year
Saw them in the early 80's.... it was a wild night of 2+ hours of non-stop musical madness ! Bob gives 200% every performance ✌️🙂 Bob is from Detroit, just like Kid Rock, and the Motor City Madman Ted Nugent 😉🎸
What I love most about this album if you sit listen from start to finish you can tell those boys were putting everything they had in that performance they were on fire killed it whole album !!
I been recommending this album for a long time...its an ass kicking album...its got some breathers but theres alot of songs like this "Bo Didldy", "Nut bush city limits" "Let it Rock" one of my favorite albums of all time for getting up and going...
Bob Seger was born and raised in Ann Arbor, so not far from Detroit. He had a lot of influence from Motown. This album took him from a regional act that mostly supported other, bigger bands to a nationwide headliner. Yes, that is The Silver Bullet Band playing live, but they did not do much writing or studio recording with Bob, he did that at Muscle Shoals with The Swampers. Bob played some rhythm guitar and piano at these shows but the lead guitar your hear is Drew Abbott. If you listen to Let It Rock/ Little Queenie from this album you can hear Bob introduce the whole band.
One of the greatest live albums of all time hands down
Wrong - THE best live album of all time
Underrated for sure
Great writing - historical riff about communist scare era from the mid-1950s when Chuck Berry blew up.
1970s: artists were like Alicia Keys - could play multiple instruments & made true art. Put it down.
Correct. Bob has that rare talent, where he actually sounds better live.
The album is simply phenomenal from start to finish!
I just finished listening cause this reaction inspired me
well tell us what you thought about your listen?
@@uncletom618 well I enjoyed it very much as usual
Not a bad track there.
That album “live bullet” is one of if not the best live rock album in history👊
Blow Your Face Out by the J. Geils Band and Frampton Comes Alive as well.
NO DOUBT!!!
@@laurakali6522 and the who live at Leeds “
Yep
Live bullet is a great album. Listen to to Tina Turner classic “ Nutbush City Limit off it.
Rolling Stone magazine recently named this the BEST Live Album ever recorded! He no longer tours. I was lucky enough to see him Live about 8-10 times including the Live Bullet Album recorded in Detroit at Cobo Hall!
I got lucky and saw him in 86 in Toronto one the of best shows I every saw
Was right there with you! Cobo Hall rocked!
One of the best live albums ever made..start to finish.. Incredible!
One of the best live albums ever. End of story.
I had this album as a teenager. And yes he did come back and gave more.
I grew up in Flint, Michigan, and I grew up on Bob Seger. BJ, I think you nailed it. Seger captured the grit and drive of the motor city.
Without question this album from start to finish is awesome. Seger grew up listening to Motown and infused it to his style of rock, blues and some country. Keep digging and playing his music, so much to cover. Thanks for the reaction!!
Asia & BJ, you'll love his "Rock And Roll Never Forgets" and "Katmandu"!!!! BANGERS!!
The Detroit sound is large with trend setting sounds and many Icons.
Motown Records, The MC5, Ted Nugent, of course Bob, Grand Funk Railroad, Alice Cooper, Glen Frey, iggy Pop, Madonna, Kid Rock, Eminem
Seen them all with exception of Madonna who we had no use for, lol.
Saw Bob in concert 10, maybe 15 times over the years in Detroit. One word, great... no one like him. Michigan's poet.
Keep hitting him/ them ! you can't believe how GOOD this album is ! look how many of us are saying it
How we rock in Detroit. They were phenomenal live. Just stopped touring. Stopped at 75.
Bob is also a great family man. When he made it, he bought a private jet so right after each concert, wherever he was, he flew back home right after so he could be home in the morning when his kids woke up before school. What a great and talented man! I love everything about him! I’ve been listening to him since the 70’s.
FAVORITE LIVE ALBUM .................... HIT ANYWHERE !
Bob Seger songs will stay in your head all day. Like this one in my head in school back I. The day Lol
I was fortunate to have attended every tour since 1980. His last tour was 2019. It was already going to be his last tour, and then Alto Reed, the sax player passed away and Bob said he couldn't imagine without him, they had been together for 50 years

I don't know how many times I left denver in my 64 galaxie convertable with this cranked! I loved this album.
Literally everything on this album is top shelf
Bob is from Detroit area suburb along with the band from other suburbs. My older brother saw him in the early days in small bars and outdoor venues.
Yes, so glad you got to this. My Hometown Detroit City the Home of Rock and Roll. This is one of the best live performances ever recorded. Every song.
One of, if not the greatest live album of all time!
Absolutely, what put it above all others is the depth of difference concepts, going from R & B, Rock, Jazz, Blues, and with Turn The Page Pop with Rock influences. Some of Drew Abbott's finest work on that album - and this song in particular (lead guitar). The keyboardist was Robyn Robins.
This entire album rocks.
His album Night Moves was recorded at the famous Muscle Shoals studio where Aretha Franklin and Rolling Stones found a particular magic. But the key to the sound was the house band, The Swampers, that Aretha called the Greasiest Band in the land!
Gotta do Beautiful Loser/Travelin' Man from Live Bullet at some point. This is one of the greatest live albums of all-time.
I lived in Windsor Ont. when this was recorded and could hear the crowd and a little of the music from across the river...
I so wanted to go but I was poor and couldn't make it!

Such a phenomenally great album!!!
Seger was my first concert. He was touring a year or two ago, but not sure if he’s still touring. He lost is Saxophonist, Alto Reed a year ago.
My all time favorite live album. I was fortunate enough to see Bob and The Silver Bullet Band on this tour.

Live, no auto-tune, no drum machine, no overdubbing, no computer work stations, just talent.
Every song is fire, "Live Bullet" is a perfect live album.
YESSS! This is one of the only albums I can listen to every track and looove every single one of them ❤️❤️❤️

The # 1 VERY BEST LIVE ALBUM OF ALL TIME! I had 8 LIVE BULLET albums on 8 track and 8 or 9 of EM on Cassette!

Few ever knew how to establish a Rock groove like Bob Seeger! A living legend Icon.
The Silver Bullet Band is Bob's tour band. In the studio Bob liked to use the Muscle Shoals Rythym Section. Research them.
I was fortunate to see Bob segar live in 1977 the best concert ever the energy was off the charts
This is the very first record I bought as a kid! This album made Bob Seger a star! "Let it Rock/Little Queenie" is a jam that he closed the show with!

Bob has so many great songs. One of my favorite concerts from the 80's

Yes, they do another after this (encore) and it's just as hot!
I love this version of this tune! His best rocker.

This is the most heavy rock i've ever heard Bob.
I am so glad I was born in 73 .Music was good and groovy.
I've only seen them in person. They get after it! The Live Bullet album is my absolute favorite by Bob Seager. That whole album was great.
50 YEARS THIS YEAR YOU GUYS, GOLD!!! 😊

Bob Seger ROCKS the piano!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Make you want to boogie. Bob had that it factor, with his music 🎶. The upbeat songs from Bob are fire 🔥. Check out " Sunspot Baby " next by Bob.
