You guys should try diving knives
Dear DBK I was wondering if you or anyone here would be able to give me some advice on weather I should this knife of kabar BK7
i have to make an additional comment about your videos. i like them so much , because compared to other channels, you have a real passion for knives and you judge knives on a neutral way and you are honest, no matter what branch it is. Simply not fake. i also wish you success for the future and may the knife community gifted with more great videos from you guys.
thank you so much for your amazingly kind words! It means a lot!

😂 "branch" - I see what you did there.

thank you so much!
@@DutchBushcraftKnives how many members are in Royal club? Do I have Chance to win some knife?
@@jimlahey5623 the main purpose is to support the channel 🤔 the give away is meant as a thank you to all the supporters but we can't send knives to everyone so we make it a chance. there are two winners each month so it's a way bigger chance than any lottery. Maybe 1 in 100 chance
I have that knife and IT IS A BEAST. Greetings from Spain!!
I now have four Joker knives; the Camparo, Nesmuk. Lynx and now the 5" Nomad. I am very impressed with the blades quality, sharpness, and price. Few if any can come close to the durability, fit & finish and value of their knives and I have an extensive collection of good manufacturers blades as well as custom hand made blades by master knife makerd. Get one, you won't be disappointed.
And now, the nomad 6.5!!!
This knife was designed by José Sabater... A f....ng genious!!! He has created a lot of nice Spanish knifes and Joker is a great manufacturer from Albacete. Bueno, bonito y barato! Cream!! 🇪🇸
G E N I U S, not genious, genius.
As a half Spanish guy born in the Netherlands I'm am very proud. I gave my father this knife and i also was amazed about it. All Joker knives are great I owned some of them when they were available at Amazon.
😅🔥 _That Ziv Moran music tho!_
The nomad is like a stainless bk2 or in this case bk7.. absolutely a great knife
I have one of these. It really is a great knife at a great price. Joker in general makes great knives. I have 4 of them.
Joker definitely makes fire knives. I just got the chance to test one of these Nomad 6.5’s! Beast mode knife for sure.👌
Got a Joker Nordico 2 years ago and didn't regret it. Awesome scandi grind and built quality from this company is absolutely great! And you are right Mikkie, not only are they hand grinding their knives, but they're all hand made.
@@1800moonSugar the knife as a whole is hand made.. not hand forged mate.
Hello Lads!!,...It's been a while. Have to say I'm a big Fan of Joker Knives and the way they heat treat and sharpen their blades. I've had a Joker Nomad with the Bohler 695 steel blade for a few years now and it has never failed to do a task I have asked of it. I'm not an abuser of my knives but I do ask them to do the jobs they claim to do. For instance long before we even spoke about the make up of steels for knives we had Stainless and High Carbon Steel or a combination of the two. I have owned a Grohmann Military handled #3 since I was in my early 20's (I'm now 55yrs old) and it has done it's job many times with no complaints. It's job is to break down and skin large game that we have shot for meat. I'll have to look for this larger version of the Nomad, seeing as it worked so admirably for you two. Cheers from Canada, DBK Lads!!
Mikkie, do The Wodan Boys have any albums out? I'm an old Punk Rocker from the late 70's and early 80's from about age 13 on and I find myself really enjoying your sound!! I'd love to pick up a CD or an Album of your songs!! - Dave
You guys are my favourite knife community RUclipsrs! Genius videos...keep it up!
I have the original Joker Nomad, and want the 6.5 too. Joker make amazing knives and are just spectacular value for money.
My nomad 6.5 arriving tomorrow.
Also joined your patreon
Your videos are unique and entertaining and you’ve upped my knife game to another level
I have the Joker Nomad 6.5, it's in my go bag.
Aside from some roadside tools, the most important thing I keep in my car is a roll of toilet paper. I also have a fire steel. Anyway, 10/10 would recommend keeping toilet paper in your car. Also a must have for fishing trips. It saved the day for a few people now.
Large package of baby wipes in the trunk beats TP every time....better hygiene and useful for cleaning faces, hands, bodies, upholstery AND a 1/4roll of paper towel for drying firelighting etc
That happened to friend of ours while fishing in two boats, he had to back one out on a tiny Island with no trees, with just an oily rag from the boat, he could have really used your advice, lol.
@@bradfarrahgerwing154and where do you put them after use?

This channel has instantly become a favorite of mine. Your content is awesome. Thank you for your videos.
Joker Knives is one of the most underrated knife makers out there right now.
thumbs up for showing the rudiger roll fire making method
Stop reviewing knives! I cant afford anymore! lol
😂 I know right
It’s a 100 ish dollar knife
Keep me in mind for the Joker 6.5.
I absolutely love the first joker Nomad smaller version. Would love to win the 6.5 to add to my collection.
Is the nomad also a good chopper?
@@f804.de.ruyter6.5 better, more forward weight
I really appreciate this video, I've had mine for just over a month now and I absolutely love it. I've had 2 gas station specials for over 10 years, but I broke both of them within the span of a week after I started getting into bushcraft and actually using them. Both broke while I was batoning, one lasted roughly 50 hits or so and the 2nd broke the very first time I struck it. So I spent a few hours watching videos and reviews of different knives, but as soon as I watched this video I instantly knew that the nomad was going to be my first "real" bushcraft knife. I've been carrying it on my belt a few days a week while I'm out in the woods. I've honestly been beating the living crap out of it as well and so far it seems to be built like a tank, at least for the tasks and amount of use I need it for. Not to mention I absolutely love the leather sheath it comes with, definitely seems to be really well made and the retention/fitment is just right. I paid $107 including shipping for the knife and I definitely feel like it was well worth that amount, especially with the sheath included. Thanks again!
@@1800moonSugar without a doubt... all knives aren't created equal. Apparently I was just willfully ignorant about blade steels for a long time. 🤣
You should try the knives from cudeman, another spanish brand, good quality
Vocês são meu canal de facas favorito! Um abraço do Brasil! Nós brasileiros gostamos muito de facas!
Hi from USA
i know its not your prefered style of knives, but thats the size of knives i like + convex. great vid again. greetings from Germany
Yes, I think this Joker Nomad 6.5 one is the best survival knife. It's a pity that steel is not the one of the best, I wanna see this knife in CPM 3V or similar premium steel
It's wonderful to learn while being so entertained by you two crazies! Please keep it up forever!
I sometimes get such a great laugh at your guys’ videos commentary. Usually when I’m a bit sleep deprived, but it helped me burn some extra calories and exercise my smile lines.
With that music I watched for Clint Eastwood to ride up! I too like Joker knives, along with LionSteel they are great values! Thanks folks! Saddle up!
I have a Joker lock knife and I have to say for 65 pound it is an excellent knife.
I've consistently enjoyed your evaluations. Your videos are entertaining and, more importantly, you explain how you define quality. New subscriber.
As I understand it and based on your videos, you seem to generally assess knives based on 1) fitness for purpose, 2) knife blade geometry, 3) heat treatment, 4) ergonomics, 5) steel type and 6) cost. An EDC tactical knife is different from a combat knife, which is different from a skinner, which is different from an outdoor/camping knife, which is different from a survival knife. You seem to gravitate to outdoor/camping knives as opposed to the larger survival knives (my interpretation). Regardless, I enjoy learning from you two. :)
Great video; and Joker; I know the brand, it's spanish, and often forgotten in the low-quality knives, but obviously it deserves a whole lot better. I gotta look into them some more.
Not low quality!!! Low cost 😁👍🇦🇺
I just bought 3 joker knives they are extremely well made for the price you pay for em.
Another great review guys!!! Hopefully you'll do a review on the Joker Lynx.
Picked up this exact Nomad XL about a month ago & wow is it nice. Great review as always. Finally subscribed.
I’ve started a fire with a red plastic cup, some pine needles, and some ashes in a fire pit. Basically, I stuffed the cup with needles and rubbed the cup into the ashes of the fire pit to create friction (like you’re scooping the ashes into the cup over and over). I remember that it caught fire surprisingly fast. I only did it once when I was bored a long time ago.
I don’t think the ashes can be too old for this to work.
Might have just been a fluke, honestly, because I was just a little kid playing with fire.
when blowing into bundle, hold up in the air and blow underneath. Great video and great knife
Joker knives are great value for money, great quality. I have 2 already and I am very satisfied
Heck yeah I love videos like this. Helping others out to find a really solid knife for an awesome price. Well done.
I have a Joker Knife too....yeah the Handle ist great for Bushcraft Tasks ( Mine is the Joker Nordico with O2 Steel) and it never dissapoint me in all Carving Work but...when iwas Batoning with it, the Handle was going to lose....OK, a little bit of 2k Klever, and Screws instead of rivet...and now it works like a Horse! Do you know the Fox Core Fixed Blade with Becut Steel? I think, this Knife is under the Radar!
Love your channel. Been watching for years now. I picked up a Gerber strong arm after watching your torture testing. It'll do to sit on My plate holder for whatever comes up. Thanks guys from British Columbia Canada.
G'day Guys, I've had the 5 incher for some time now, not one thing is wrong with it and everything is right about it. I'd go as far as to say on par with my Bravo 1.5 in S35, ....... but roughly half the price.
Yes I prefer S30/35, but N690 and 695 are very underrated IMO. Cheers Duke.
Great review guys. It looks like a good camp knife for sure.
Funny how some companies keep upping their game and others just decline.
Keep up the good work.
The only thing wrong with this video is the length......
I need a good old fashioned 25min+ video of these guys doing more bushcrafting activities!! Or podcast 😎
Cheers guys! Great video!
hahaha thanks a lot!
Yes il 2nd that comment.
A nice half hour of you lads using and abusing knives would be great fun and informative i reckon!
Another nice vid Bushcraft Boys!
I was laughing so hard, you guys are gonna get me kicked out of the Hotel!😂 Great video and review as always. 🤜🤛
Thanks for the review and the fun, as always! I'm really looking forward to this knife getting to market. Such good quallity for such a manageable price.
Thank u dbk for all the great work! Just bought the knife and am amazed!!
I stopped buying them for about three months and set aside the money each pay day.
I finally got in my Miller Bros M-21 with fire starter, diamond stone on the Kydex/leather sheath. This knife is a freaking beast. I have no reason to buy another bushcraft knife now lol
Jocker Nomad amazing increíble hablo español es una gran pieza impresionante diseño sencillo sobrio pero hermoso y eficaz
Yet again another great video guys, especially for those who don't want to unnecessary spend hard earned money. I'm liking the physical transformation you two guys are going tru as well. Have been training alot lateley haven't you! Groetjes van Een buurman 😊
Great Video and great knife. Btw I haven't watched you for a long time, Mickey you got some sick gains, your arms are crazy. Keep going strong 💪

Joker not joking around.
what is your best kitchen knive cheers
I never know I’m missing something in my life, but then there is a new video from DBK, then i know that there was something missing
That's a great deal for a Bushcraft knife. Great job on the review. Hope to see you guys do some cooking again. 🇺🇸
I was really interested in the Nomad. I almost bought it but instead, I went with the Joker Ember with micarta and scandi grind. I unfortunately have a budget to live by. After seeing this video, I feel like I should have blown my budget. Haha! Maarten, Mikkie, thank you for not shooting and destroying this knife. You have spared me from another heart ache this week.😅😅😅😅
I was hoping they wouldn't shoot it, to.😮
I have both knives. There is no loss settling for the Ember, except for a shorter blade. The Ember can pretty much do anything the larger Nomad can, and the 14c28n steel is tougher than n695. The Ember is easier to sharpen, too. The Ember is better in the bush/woodcraft department, the Joker better in the hunting, skinning, food prep department.
@@JustinCase-em6ql Cool! The only thing I don't like about the Ember is that I find the scandi grind angle too steep. I would have preferred the grind would have started 1/2 way along the edge as opposed to 1/4. It would have been just as strong but a little bit more slicy. I could have reground it but I decided to keep the factory grind and be able to compare it to other knives.
@@JustinCase-em6ql Non, le Nomad est 6,5, pas comparable
The only thing the Ember does not excel at is food prep, because of that thick scandi grind.
Happy to see Toki doing well after Dethklok
Now, hey there Y'all! Mullet Mikkie here, and have we got a doozy fer you!
I eat the eggs and the bird raw because I’m in a survival situation. 😂 You guys are hilarious.
Joker are good knives? Cool to know. About 20 years ago I bought a double-edged dagger looking knife from them, thinking it was just a cool looking wall hanger, but it was heavy and well made.
Woopwoop DBK!
Sweet knife! Could you lads review a knife from Cudeman? Another great knife manufacturer from Spain. Try the Cudeman 155-M!
very cool knife!! ty for your amazing videos!
I thought the Joker Nomad 6.5 would be a good knife. It ticked many of the boxes I had for an outdoors jack of all trades knife (My only complaint is that I think the steel could have been better but it is a good enough stainless steel).
As I look at my own Joker Nomad 6.5, this is validation.
The heat treatment makes that N695 work so well. It holds that edge remarkably well due to that heat treatment and good convex edge.
did you guys ever had a hand on a Kiku Matsuda knife. He uses the OU31 "Supersteel" for over a decade now and me personally i like the steel, despite its not really stainless
nope! will check it out!
@@DutchBushcraftKnives he makes a convex grind on grinding stones and not on a belt grinder. pure craftmanship. maybe you will like his style. most ppl dont know his knives but they are awsome, but also expensive.
I'm spanish, and I'm so proud about this knife, I have a similar knife from the same brand, and is like 🔥🔥
I don't normally buy a lot of knives you guys review, because they're too expensive. This knife actually looks pretty great for the price. I think I'm going to buy one.
Guys, guys…When are you going to do a video on the JeoTec series of bushcraft knives… micarta handles, n690 steel and probably the best leather sheath available for a knife.. all at between $99 to $139 us, depending on the model number!
I love that Joker.
Had a Chance to pick up Demko free Reign in the limited run Magna Cut steel. was 189 when i got it and was worried about the rubber handle before my purchase. But I liked the overall look with the through tang, and to my surprise over a year later the rubber still looks brand new.
Great video as always! I like this knife!
One question, what do you think about BECUT steel. There is not much info out there. Could be interesting to test it in the Fox core fixed knife.
I think I only have one knife in it and havent thoroughly tested it. It's not a high end steel for sure
I love my Joker Nomad 6.5. My only complaint is the steel. I wish Joker had used Sandvik 14C28N for the Nomads like they use for most of their other knives. That would be a much better steel for a larger knife like the Nomad. Bohler N695 is just glorified 440C.
Yeh but it's super easy to sharpen and I doubt it would be under 250, 300 usd in 14c28n. Even a d2 version would be good
@@baz3184 Their 4-5 inch knives in 14c28n are all under $100 and it shouldn’t cost more than double to make the Nomad using the same steel. I would gladly pay $200 for a Nomad 6.5 in 14c28n.
Cheers. This one's getting bought.
You boys are entertaining for a couple of Merica haters.
Cant even buy a proper gun in their country. I like air rifles but man would it suck if that was all I could get.
From now on I'm going to like share and comment every video because you guys are freaking hilarious I love you both fantastic work good job. Love from North Carolina
Love me some big boy choppers!! Nice !

Ok so do you guys hate Winkler knives or what?? What gives??
C'mon C'mon brosives! How about a Winkler?? They say they can endure any battle from the most elite Operators out there!! Lets do this!!
Thanks! a great video, top-tier content.
Again great video! Again please review the LT Wright Genesis! Please…
We all knew you guys were professional rollers. Now you proved it !
Is it the Micarta Green version? Because in your video it looks so grey but its too light to be the black version
Great review!
You guys always seem to be having fun.
Good stuff!
The nomad and the lynx are both very nice
You guys sure do love that paper test. Idk, maybe slicing thourgh a phone book silently, one page at a time, is truely the essense of bushcraft.
It's a benchmark for a undamaged sharp edge
@@DutchBushcraftKnives and it sells a lot of super steel.
Great music background, sounded like, For A Few Dollars More. Angel eyes and Clint kick ass. Great job. Knifes great too.
Looks like a very good survival knife. But is it any stainless steel?
I’m looking for a good knife (besides my Fallkniven) that can handle salt water since we are moving to a boat and sail the seven seas.
i might assume you have watched the David West fire starting channel
Definetly should try in a video one of the lt.wrights knives, genesis would be awesome in 3v!
Ah, the eternal dichotomy. The better Martin blows, the more moist everything around him gets.
Oak is good as firewood and the acorns can be eaten or used to attract deer ie food for you😮. A friend had a garden that he couldn’t get anything from because deer ate everything. I told him it still could provide food in the form of meat. Edit: if you want to make a fire by fire rolling I recommend David West channel. He makes it look so easy.
Do a review on LT Wright Illuminous 5 👌👍

The absolutely best knife for survival I have ever owned hands down is the onterio steel spec plus Bowie it is awesome I have had it for years and it's never failed me I use it for everything splitting firewood skinning animals and everything else

Hello, I like the way of taking the tests to the extreme
