Indian and Chinese are at worst stand off in Ladakh hence you are seeing such military activities. China ingressed on Indian territory, India responded which resulted in this.

@@KinfolkTravels schools were in military area, although they were run by central govt, buses were there but sometimes due to maintenance or other issues, these trucks used to come for pick and drop, we used to call them 5T or 3T trucks, hopping on truck was huge task as platform was higher than my height😄😄

I felt the safest in Leh, there I sometimes went to the shop on my own or went for runs on my own. I also felt safe in Jaipur, we did stay in an airbnb from a local family in the civil lines. Felt very safe at home there and could run in the neighborhood on my own. Agra I felt okay, I wouldn’t go out on my own. Delhi I didn’t feel safe, even when with my husband.

I just heard of this story today. That is really horrible and shocking. I am so sorry, it only takes a few people to ruin the reputation and good name of a country and place. No matter how many good people there are it only takes a few bad ones. We felt so safe, perhaps also because it was in Ladakh area and we were om an organized tour doing the biking trip. We met so many lovely people in India. It is so horrible that a few bad ones give India a bad name. 😡
All good if you plan the trip properly and reach an accommodation in a fairly decent area before it gets dark. Dont get too adventurous camping in the middle of nowhere. Unlike the west the nights in India aren't safe.

The places you have been visiting are tourist places. People are used to seeing foreign travellers. Just be careful with the off-beat locations or rather avoid completely.
Please visit South India, particularly Kerala and the coastal areas of Karnataka. You will be blown away by the beauty, food, and culture. In Kerala, you find a variety of beef dishes too unlike rest of india

Please avoid states like jharkhand, bihar , west bengal, assam, tripura, manipur , rajasthan, uttar pradesh its not safe. Go to south indian states or north eastern states like sikkim, meghalaya, nagaland , mizoram, arunachal pradesh. Don't go without a guide and never camp in unknown or suspicious places avoid states with low literacy and high corruption. Recent incident happened in dhumka, jharkhand with spanish/brazilian couple.

Kolkata is safest city, so is the state of West Bengal, but with population of Bengalies decreasing and huge influx of people from states like Bihar, Jharkhand and UP, its quite uncertain how long it will remain safe.
@@KinfolkTravels previously ladakh used to be closed by roads for 6 months because of snow. For last 2 years because of tunnels they are open almost whole year. But it should be and will be better .himalaya is a fold mountain, so it is growing and causes landslides often.

India is pretty safe for women also. There are just few areas in every country where people have to be careful. You cannot just roam in such places in the middle of the night.

Hahaha, I’m sure it’s not the most remote place in the world. But it’s more remote than big cities like Delhi etc. So usually petrol to places further from the coast or in “more remote areas” than big cities are a bit more pricey. :)
Well that’s how it is in South Africa, thought it would work similar in India. :)

Please avoid states like jharkhand, bihar , west bengal, assam, tripura, manipur , rajasthan, uttar pradesh its not safe. Go to south indian states or north eastern states like sikkim, meghalaya, nagaland , mizoram, arunachal pradesh. Don't go without a guide and never camp in unknown or suspicious places avoid states with low literacy and high corruption. Recent incident happened in dhumka, jharkhand with spanish/brazilian couple.

We did visit Jaipur in Rajasthan and felt quite safe. Is there specific areas in Rajasthan that you would suggest not visiting?
Assam, West Bengal, Tripura is safe. Kolkata is the safest city in India.
All North east states are safe.
Kolkata is safest city, so is the state of West Bengal, but with population of Bengalies decreasing and huge influx of people from states like Bihar, Jharkhand and UP, its quite uncertain how long it will remain safe.
Be safe india is not so much safe

It was surprising because some parts were really good and then some weren’t. I think it’s also really hard to maintain with the snow etc.
@@KinfolkTravels previously ladakh used to be closed by roads for 6 months because of snow. For last 2 years because of tunnels they are open almost whole year. But it should be and will be better .himalaya is a fold mountain, so it is growing and causes landslides often.

One small request.... recently brazilian woman got sexually assaulted in jharkhand,INDIA... please don't roam in the areas which are secluded... take care of urself... iam sorry to say that most of the india is not safe to travel for women... brazilian woman news broke me completely!
I heard about that! It is so sad and makes one so angry. Because there are so many wonderful and caring people in India and then it takes only a few bad guys like that to ruin it 😡
India is pretty safe for women also. There are just few areas in every country where people have to be careful. You cannot just roam in such places in the middle of the night.
Ladakh is one of the safest region.
Please stay away from states like Bihar Jharkhand and Chattisgarh

Be careful with Riding in India. India is not safe everywhere. Recently a devastating incident happend with a foreign biker.

@@KinfolkTravels Simply follow this report, "en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_states_and_union_territories_of_India_by_crime_rate", wherever it (rape) is above India average, you have to be couscous. Based on my knowledge, all the notorious places are present in ranking above India avg.
