Timothy Dalton should have been on this show for a whole season. He is an exceptionally talented actor that can make anything seem like Shakespeare wrote it
I always assumed that when Peter watched Margaret dance and sing, it’s supposed to be implied that in that moment he saw what their life could have been together, and in that moment, he both regretted and didn’t regret a thing. He is a man who is happy with the life he has lived, and can acknowledge the potential’s of what could have been, yet he does not look back upon them with regret. He can still look at the woman he loved long ago, and show her the same kindness and love he did then, while also acknowledging that they are now different people but yet still the same in that small yet important way.
*If only Margaret had agreed to give up her place in the line of succession!* [1] (She would have had to give up the use of her HRH) and married Peter (outside of the CoE) in a quiet, private ceremony! He could have kept his job. Elizabeth II had more than enough money to give them a stipend. (Although Margaret would have had to make adjustments in her attitude and lifestyle. it probably would have been good for her to learn and to make positive changes in her life.) Later, after the "scandal" of Margaret's marriage; Peter could have been made a Viscount or a Baron, maybe even an Earl -- later in life, after the "scandal" had died down. He was a WW2 hero in his own right and he was a very loyal government employee in the upper levels of management. When Peter became a Peer (each HRH are granted to individuals --that is why Wallis Simpson never got an HRH) he would not have been required to be given an HRH That way after his death Margaret could be known again as "Princess Margaret of Windsor"[2] Peter Townsend would not have turned down a Peerage. (his oldest son, although born of the former wife would have benefited -- as the marriage between Townsend and his ex-wife was legal) ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1.) The Duke of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent had male heirs; if Charles or Anne did not reproduce, they could have stepped up. 2.) *As the daughter of the Duke of Kent, Alexandra was known as Princess Alexandra* before her marriage and after the death of her husband While her husband, Sir Angus Ogilvy ,(m. 1963; died 2004) was alive, she was known as the "Honorable Lady Ogilvy" Since "Sirs" (Knights) do not pass on their titles; her title of Princess became reactivated after her husband's death --She was born a princess (as was Margaret). [ So that in precedence, order of rank, she would be with her two brothers, as the daughter of a royal Duke]
its sad to find out this information about Margret, she ended up giving her royal title to prince endward anyways, if only she knew what was down the line she could have had so many more years of happiness outside royal life and probably would have worked out for the better
Unpopular opinion, but Peter was never the guy for Margaret. She didn’t love him enough to leave her lifestyle behind, and he was interested in physical beauty and youth. Are we all gonna ignore how he married a 20 y/o at the age of 45, after Margaret?!
I wish Timothy did Goldeneye or if it wasn't of the 6 year gap after licence to kill i would have been couriers of Timothy doing 3rd and 4th bond movies between 91_93 ps timothy was ruthless bond before craig.

Finally someone uploaded this part, this is my fave on that episode❤
Timothy Dalton is chef’s kiss!
I love Princess Margaret and Peter.
I love Margaret's pretty pink dress and that dancing was so cool. I wish I could dance like that.
Margaret loved Peter her whole life. He was her soul mate for life. Margaret never recovered from losing the love of her life.

They should have been allowed to get married, he was the true love of her life
Seeing thia just breaks my heart 😢
As I watched this , I could feel the TV producers manipulating my heart strings, but I let them do it anyway

Timothy Dalton was so handsome as a young man.
He's still handsome, yet... 😍 I don't care, still so atractive in his 78.
