so before i point out what i think he did wrong i will say over all shine was nice, now the bad points, all he did was brush youre shoes unless you cut out the clean because of that loud door fixing then ok alright then if thats the case then a solid shine
Actually this was a very bad shoe shine. The purpose of a shoe shine is to help not only clean and make the shoe look 'polished' but to also help protect and preserve the life of the shoe's material. This is why if the shoe looks in an already good looking condition the shoes should always have a clean which removes the existing layers of polish so a creme polishing agent can be applied to the shoe which helps bring extra life back into the material of the shoe. You are then supposed to apply a minimum of 3 layers of wax polish which acts as a sealant to prevent water and dirt getting into the material of the shoe. This is why it is very important to wax every area of the shoe and then apply a brush to every area of the shoe. The friction of the brushing motion heats up the wax allowing it to penetrate the shoes material. The 3rd layer is the one where the 'shine' is brought out. The only thing I cannot fault this guy on is the application of the wax via the cloth. It was perfect. Every area of the shoe was covered. If you want the shoe to look 'shiny' then this is the guy to go to BUT if you want your shoe to be properly protected so it's life span lasts longer then this is the guy NOT to go to.

Unless we just didn't see it, the fact there was no actual cleaning, I'm not a fan of just slapping polish on a dirty shoe, regardless of the outcome.
