+princeviny17 Actually, it was $50. I fat fingered the 2. :P Got it with a controller, no OS or hard drive. I threw in a spare 250gb drive I had and spent an hour or so and: Schwing and Kaching!
I first bought my PS4 just for this game as I own a Xbox One, but then I seen the difference between 900p and 1080p and 720p and 900p and realized the PS4 looks a lot better in some games compared to what youtube videos show.
@@DantesInferno96 They're working on details of a game and "they didn't notice"?... OK... You better believe it was intentional. They weren't reworking this massive hit of a game with one hand while checking their phones with the other.
I remember I bought this game on a whim. Just got bored one day and downloaded it on my PS3. ...then I played it like 30 times over. This game is an absolute BLAST.
If you have a ps4 (or will be picking up a ps3 this holiday) and have never played Drakes 2, you owe it to your self to give it a play. It's probably one of the most polished, most well crafted, truly cinematic(no bullshit) game experiences out there. It's so rare to find a game with both polished gameplay and a compelling story at the same time.
Homeh Fool Amy Hennig and other naughty dog team members worked on uncharted golden abyss to ensure it stayed in certain parameters so that it stayed Canon. Look it up you fuckin idiot. People like you and your false information make the internet a terrible place.
not yet :P but i downloaded the uncharted collection demo and played a little bit of uncharted 2, it's fantastic! as always naughty dog did a great job.
I knew about how good bluepoint was the day I played Gow 2 remaster on ps3. Those guys are great ,I think now they deserve they own big project after that collection ,Get to it Sony .
As someone who loved this game when I first got my PS3, I have to say that this game went through quite an amount of changes to graphics with *updates* on the PS3 version. I specifically remember the first sequence, where Nate is on the train, to look different with the way they used lighting. It seemed to be mostly downgrades, or changes in light intensities and locations. I remember being upset that my game looked *worse* after I updated it.
The amount of detail put into the original alone is a real testament to how much commitment Naughty Dog put into their games. The bamboo casting light on the train car is such a small detail that hardly anyone would have noticed, and yet it's still amazing to be there. The original game still looks awesome, but the new version is just incredible.
there is something in Uncharted 2 that was missing on it's 2 sequels. satisfying and diverse level. this game always makes you like moving... always want you to be surprised, and the cenimatics has it's own charm that you can't find to it's sequels. they are great games but this one is the definitive Uncharted game.
Got this game when I was 10 or 11 years old when it came out. I'm 18 now. Time goes pretty fast and I seriously miss this game. Had such a good time platinuming it and playing the multiplayer!
+HandsomeRanger no one has given a fuck about tomb raider since the 90's. Only desperate fanboys wanna act like the franchise is all of sudden relevant again.
5:43 is what bothers me about the remaster. No motion blur for pre-rendered cutscenes made the cinematic scenes feel less cinematic… and makes it look “cheap” even. Wish they would have addressed that via firmware update when they said “improved movie quality”.
I remember playing this for the first time in middle school, never hearing about it beforehand, and having my mind blown over how amazing it looked. The ps3 version still looks great to this day. I would get the remastered collection for my ps4 but I remember that part with the blue people, fuck that shit!
I'm about to finish it for the God knows what time, been hooked on this franchise since 2012 when I discovered it and up till this day it's the best adventure series ever made.
My favorite ps3 game of all time. The day I beat the game, I immediately replayed the whole entire game. I have never done that with any game ever before.
I prefer the PS3 in terms of pre-rendered cutscenes with motion blur. Big mistake to remove them. 5:43 is a good example. I know blurs were implemented later in game but it wasn’t so for cutscenes.
O bought a PS3 for Naughty dog games. And this was a masterpiece. lately I've been playing my Xbone and PS4 while ignoring my ps3 and 360. it is fun to play the old ps3 games again, God of War 3, Resistance, Ratchet and clank collection, Black Ops2 etc.. the ps3 still looks Damn good.
Played and finished this recently on PS4 - it's certainly the Definitive Edition of Uncharted 2 for sure! And the stand out game in this collection... DF looks nice but it's still dated even with new assets and upgrades. Uncharted 2 re-mastered is just gorgeous in every sense of the word! Didn't like some of the direction with Uncharted 3's art... the colour is also more realistic which loses charm imo. The 60fps is a huge boost when shooting, climbing and in general moving around the environments. It looks incredibly fluid and smooth as butter. The added specular effects shown in this video, during the museaum infiltration are actually applied to EVERY wall texture with art assets like those in the game, coupled with higher quality lighting it makes the scenes really stand out. The new icy sheen effect on the snow is very much visible in the remaster VS the old flat looking snow from the original game. Light effects the snow trails and creates deeper trenches in the newer version. Many added details on the train level and extra geometry on the environment in most locations really leaps out in the PS4 version - it just looks incredibly polished and detailed. The eyes still bother me slightly, they look a little flat and not as rounded as the "bug-eyes" from the OG game, a small detail that doesn't detract from this impressive and worthwhile remaster imo!
I remember going to my distant cousins house for a birthday and coming down and seeing him playing the opening chapter of uncharted 2. Now nearly 10 years later (little late I know) I'm playing Uncharted 2 and I realized I was playing the same thing years later! It was crazy for me.
A lot of those times where you thought they made new models or went back and improved them, like where an arch is more rounded, I think that is just the "normal mapping" or other geometry shader at work.. It accomplishes the same thing, but I don't think they went back and remodelled all those things and fixed all those things individually.
I wanted to see the scenes from Hotel Shangri La. I remember when I got there my first time. The scene completely awed me. I thought it wasn't possible to get more awed from what I have seen before but I was so wrong.
Also chloe and drake's eye's aren't as glossy on the PS4 as they were in the PS3 version, clearly one of the many sacrifices I'm sure Bluepoint had to make to get this to a constant 60fps on PS4... I actually think in a few cases the PS3 version overall looks better visually than the PS4 version, antialiasing, resolution and framerate aside
loved this game so much, if they had multiplayer I would have bought it again so the multiplayer could be revived on 2. not seeing the point buying it now when I have all 3 on PS3 already.
I would LOVE to see Jak II HD along with Jak's other 2 remastered games given the same video treatment that you've done with the Uncharted trilogy remastered!
Anyone else think the train sequence actually looks better on PS3? The colours were brighter and the PS4 version removed the shine for some reason, on PS3 it actually looked like metal with great bump-mapping but the PS4 version looks flat and murky
Im receiving my PS4 tomorrow (hopefully) and the first game ill play is uncharted 4... I havent played any uncharted part yet. Is it worth getting the second one after playing the fourth? Or getting the third one after playing the fourth? Whats your opinion about that?
This was the first game I played on my PS3. I bought it for $300 dollars used from a friend. It was the BC version, the first version of the ps3. I had to get the new slim version after the blu ray drive quit working.
As a person who for a long time gamed only on crappy PCs, I finally got to a position in life where I could easily afford to buy any kind of gaming device - so I opted for a PS4... Couldn't see what the hype was about for Uncharted, but bought the collection - then started wit UC 1 - wasn't thrilled, but, then UC 2 - its a true rolllecoaster, the most finely paced game ever made... Just couldn't stop playing it. It tops UC 4 for all its technical prowess - the train setpiece remains the best setpiece in all of gaming...

Uncharted 2 is my favorite video game of all time. I played it when I was in a rough spot in my life. And I made a lifelong best friend from playing it with my then college roommate. So Bluepoint, you better fucking nail this I swerr ta GAWWD
Played uncharted 1 and 2 on PS3. Just finished 4 remastered on ps5 at 100fps. Just started uncharted 1 but it's a bit of a step back, might go to 3 then 2 then 1. One thing to note, apart from increasing the resolution and fps to 60 (necessary as I don't touch 30fps games anymore), I don't think it needed the improvements to models, it looks great already and making it look 5% better seems like a bit of a waste of time.
For console that came out in 2006, while definitely outdated hardware-wise, the graphics the PS3 is able to pull off still look pretty good even in 2016. I just finished The Last of Us, a 2013 PS3 game looks just as good as 2015 PC games run on high graphics setting.
GTPlanet1™ LOL Since when is the PC a kids platform? Last I checked, most kids don't even know how or where to put a stick of RAM into a PC. Why don't you go back to your kiddy console made of tablet bargain-bin components. I'll be enjoying cheaper games with Steam sales and buttery smooth 120fps at 4K resolution with all settings maxed out. Oh, and if I ever want to play your exclusives, I can fire up an emulator and play them all on my PC at higher resolutions with HD texture mods. B^3
+Expert Gaming HD Not really. PS3 emulation is picking up steam, and Wii U emulation has already been a thing for a while. Also, all emulators from the Wii and below run games near perfectly, and play all the exclusive games due to the focus from the devs to get those games running. I loved playing Mario Kart 8 and Breath of the Wild on my PC, and soon, I'll be able to play the entire PS3 library with even better graphical settings than the original console. I've already got Ni no Kuni and Demon Souls sitting on my SSHD waiting to be played once I get a CPU that has at least 8 CPU cores :)
Wow that's a lot of stuff to go back and improve. Its too bad a lot of it wouldn't be noticed unless put under the microscope like it is here but its really nice to see all the real work Naughty Dog did. The game already looked fantastic and this remaster will still impact people like the original did on release
And here I thought all these years that video games were supposed to be played for the experience. This degree of navel-gazing about tech specs boggles my mind. Who goes to movie theaters and does this sort of thing? When you're playing a game, you're so invested and focused that 95% of these points in this video aren't even registering. You really do have to have them running side by side to notice any difference. Videos like this are just proof that the industry pushing tech specs as a sales pitch has worked on some
Perhaps the reason they removed motion blur from the cutscenes is that they were running at 60fps. Maybe they felt it didn't need it at a higher framerate? Is it kind of odd, though. I'd personally just reduce it at a higher framerate, cut it in half
...hmmm the snow looks better on PS3, on PS4 is more like fake shapes just to present some kind of snow interaction I mean it's OK but weird and all other details are great so that snow trails poke the eyes
Uncharted 2 is simply one of the best games ever made!

The atmosphere is simply fantastic in this game...
Something Greg Edmonson contributed a LOT to...
2:48 Now why would they change that magnificent hair?
Yeah....now his hair looks like shit XD
To me it looks like something went wrong with transparent textures...
Maybe it is an oversight. Because the last uncharted has him with the correct hair style. Something must have happened and the devs didn't notice.

I've already got Ni no Kuni and Demon Souls sitting on my SSHD waiting to be played once I get a CPU that has at least 8 CPU cores :)
Ugh have to wait until Friday to pick this up!
Ps3 1182x720p@30fps
Ps4 1920x1080@60fps good texture and image quality
all 3 Uncharted games render at 1280x720p on PS3, not 1182x720p
this game and God of war 3 made me bought a PS3 in 2009. Uncharted 2 was the best looking game of the PS3 far beyond TLOU or Uncharted 3
Nathan is in the snow, but he doesn't pull his sleeves down for warmth. I guess he's gotta look good no matter the conditions!
I'm expecting a full remake from bluepoint before I jump into Drake's ship. Drake's Legacy should be their next project.
Can't wait to play these again after uncharted 4 of course
Uncharted 2 is the best of all series. I would give this game 11/10:) it's that good
Motion blur isn’t needed due to 60fps.
Wow that's a lot of stuff to go back and improve. Its too bad a lot of it wouldn't be noticed unless put under the microscope like it is here but its really nice to see all the real work Naughty Dog did.
The game already looked fantastic and this remaster will still impact people like the original did on release
Lots of subtle improvements.
It's weird that Drake took the jeep in for a bondo and primer job between the two releases, but must not have been able to afford a paint!
I've never enjoyed the uncharted games, but I might give the series a chance again.
Waiting for the xbox fanboys to call DF biased.
haha yep
The remaster without blur takes something away from the game but I understand the move
I think uncharted 2 had better graphics than uncharted 3
And here I thought all these years that video games were supposed to be played for the experience. This degree of navel-gazing about tech specs boggles my mind. Who goes to movie theaters and does this sort of thing?
When you're playing a game, you're so invested and focused that 95% of these points in this video aren't even registering.
You really do have to have them running side by side to notice any difference.
Videos like this are just proof that the industry pushing tech specs as a sales pitch has worked on some
You want some eggs and bacon? Add some geometry to it. You want to read a novel? Add a bit of geometry with that.
If you haven't played these games yet and you own a ps3/ps4... For shame!
I say bluepoint did a commendable job with this remaster.
Perhaps the reason they removed motion blur from the cutscenes is that they were running at 60fps. Maybe they felt it didn't need it at a higher framerate? Is it kind of odd, though. I'd personally just reduce it at a higher framerate, cut it in half
Every time he says geometry take a shot
muito top seus vídeos mano
Loved Uncharted 2, it is still my favorite Uncharted game. Uncharted 4 was very good too though.
1- Uncharted 2
2- Uncharted 4
3- Uncharted 1
4- Uncharted 3
5- Uncharted: Golden Abyss
6- Uncharted: Lost Legacy
Remasters are always darker...it's so pointless.
...hmmm the snow looks better on PS3, on PS4 is more like fake shapes just to present some kind of snow interaction I mean it's OK but weird and all other details are great so that snow trails poke the eyes
4:02 - Chloe's eyes never made sense to me before. I like the improvement, but I won't buy the game again.
