    Few say "its a shame doing this remasters". Well, good luck trying to tell that to those tons of PS4 gamers out there who didnt had the chance to have a ps3 last gen, and now were given the oportunity to get 3 of the best SONY PS3 exclusives from last generation that they always wanted to play? All in one disc? Come on now. Arguing against that, its just too freaking salty. Its almost as if you´re an Anti-Gaming/Gamers.

I would love to see Driver 1&2 get a remastered version. If they dont like Uncharted remastered collection dont buy it but they need to stop telling me or others that love this remaster to not buy it. We will and they will too just giving us devine poetry here to look interesting and clever lol.

    You can see how ND have gotten better and better with each game when it comes to visuals, performance etc and as well as in story telling. Outdoing themselves with each game... Look at UC1 then UC2 and so on. The games kept getting better visually as well as ran better with each game. Back in 2006-07 when UC1 was announced, no one would have believed that a game like TLOU would be even possible of looking or running on PS3 the way it did now. And mind you, the graphical jump between PS2 and PS3 with UC1 itself was huge at that time. Naughty Dog has been known to push the boundaries when it comes to the visuals for their games. And there's no doubt in my mind that they'll do exactly that yet again with the PS4.

Even if you play the original PS3 version, you´d still be impressed at times. Pretty easy to understand why people love this game so much since the getgo.

    For a 2007 game it was beautiful and worldly realistic. With the wax-like skin, low frame rate, screen tearing and not the greatest of optimisation, it was still so awesome back then. The reason it had all issues as stated above is because of the lack of familiarity with next-gen hardware, ND said themselves. They also stated they used about 30% of the PS3's power when making this game thinking they had 'mastered' it. Then in Uncharted 2 they were at 70% familiarity and it went up from there. Uncharted 2, 3 and The Last of Us are the peak of graphical desultory on the PS3. No Xbox or other ps game came close. And then there is the Remastered. They did all of the games justice and turned already fantastic looking games into beautiful, somewhat lifelike looking games. Grats to both companies. Take note every game Dev who chooses to 'Remaster'

      +KrazyBean14 turn on your ps3 and have fun for free or go buy all 3 for less than 30 bucks on the ps3 online or at a pawn shop. these changes are extremely minor. so minor that this guy narrating goes out of his way to fine tooth come point out the minor changes. it's not enough to merit a repurchase. and the multiplayer has been striped!!! not even slightly excusable.

    • @KrazyBean14
      @KrazyBean14 8 лет назад +1

      str8jaber 1) I really don't care about the multiplayer to be completely honest. I don't even want the Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta code which comes with this game. I doubt people will even play they multiplayer for 2 and 3 anymore when 4 comes out.
      2) 60fps is more than enough for me to get this, it makes a massive difference to gameplay. Combine that with the gameplay tweaks to Uncharted 1 and the fact that you play it with the vastly superior Dualshock 4 and it seems to make the game way more fun to play (Uncharted 1 hasn't aged well at all IMO).
      3) Yes the graphical enhancements aren't that huge of a leap for 2 and 3 but it definitely helps 1 a lot, not to mention that the crappy screen tearing and super long texture loading for 1 is completely removed in this version.
      These changes aren't negligible, so I think what I will do is trade in the PS3 copies I have and get the superior version at a reduced price. It also saves me space and time since all 3 games are on one disk and on the PS4 as well.

    • @str8jaber
      @str8jaber 8 лет назад

      this remaster is only good for those who've never played the uncharted series ever. for anyone who has, it's more of a port than anything. i just wish they would've did their greatest ip some justice and redid it from the ground up using every resource that the ps4 could've provided. but they didn't! they did the bare minimum just like sony's been doing this entire generation. slap 1080p and maybe 60fps on a game and resale you the same game that you already own. then rise and repeat. this got old very quick with me. the order 1886 flopped, but i gave them massive credit for doing that game because they actually tried to give the consumers a real nextgen experience. blood born isn't my style of game, but i gave them credit for the same. effort is what im getting at, and the same type of effort (or more) should be applied to their greatest ip. not this brainwashed 10800p crap and maybe 60fps while stripping away features. some would say that it was stripped to hit certain achievements (1080p/60fps/ or 60fps on on 3 games)

    It's interesting how remasters often tend to dilute some of the strong artistic choices in the original game. BluePoint did an amazing job with this one but they seem to have chosen to make the lighting more even and thus less dramatic in a number of scenes. The high contrast jungles were part of what made the first game look so striking so it's a shame to see the effect minimized. It also seems like the lighting in some scenes is not as warm as they were in the original. Minor quibbles for a great port but it seems like other developers often play it a bit more safe when it comes to the look of a game.

    • @marcosladarense
      @marcosladarense 4 года назад +1

      good point. but we will never know if the original way with "low-profile" lighting was artistic choice or actually due to technical limitation. But I do agree, I'd rather the original game with the more dramatic and contrast lighting.

      The Nvidia based Nv47 GPU in PS3, the RSX custom is capable of rendering a featured that Nvidia's hype machine termed "Super Shadow" which originally iirc showed up on the Nv30 aka GeForce 5800 as a selling point for then Doom 3 and Doom 3 RoE.
      Iirc Nvidia's Super Shadow was (without looking it up) was capable of rendering a more accurate Shadow effect along with the use of lighting like with how old Doom 3 (which ironically was really demoed way back in 2002 and leaked (or was it 2001?) And basically the entire point wad of using darkness and shadows to further add depth, atmosphere, and the terror factor in a firefight... or at least that was the potential as most PC gamers even back then tended to CHEAT by disabling "Stencil Shadow" effects calculations which in multi player online revealed unfair cheaters as you could not hide In a dark spot in Return to Castle Wolfenstein for example, rendering the feature a joke...
      It didn't help that Id Software was over hyping the crap out of Doom 3 and their engine only to find out that their so called complex Shadow systems just could not handle... something or perhaps sloppy coding and they produced an online mode which intentionally limited maps to four player afairs which is a lower number and implied that because of the dark shadows that player encounters would be more intense...
      Which is a half truth as most online fps and third person shooter games intentionally CHEAT the player from having advanced dark Shadow calculations for a closer to true night time like lighting and darkness and shadows... thus if you're playing a game in a "night mission" and you can see everything, that is pure crap because it's like fearing the casual gamers being terrorized from the harsh reality that in a realistic night battle, even a flashlight has to be used extremely carefully.
      Thus Nvidia's Super Shadow tech was supposed to accelerate the darkness and shadow calculations and possibly enable fully volumetric Shadow rendering depending on the skills of the game developer and the original Uncharted games were definitely playing with this capability but using custom programming, TLOU and Capcom's Dragon's Dogma also approximated these darkness and lighting scenes which could show some dazzling lighting during darkness fire fights or Magick spell casting and effects which added a freaky and terror like atmosphere in the games.
      I feel that Blue Point Games kinda made a trade off because this wad conversation to PS4 which despite being more powerful on paper, is AMD hardware and although higher volumetric shadows and lighting effects could be replicated... that was probably too much extra work when you factor that on PS4 Pro the game is targeting full 4K... even if it's a conversion to a PS3 hardware game.

    OK so I'm just done re-playing Drake's Fortune via this collection and I'll admit the work done on UDF is very impressive - Nate's face looks great, all the character models are better, all the blur from post effects is removed meaning the entire game just looks cleaner all round, re-done and animated explosions, new lighting effects and flashlight effects. Smoother textures for the U-Boat and come of the interiors are cleaner then the original. Most of the skyboxes are re-doe with better lighting and higher quality artwork. Zero texture pop in or load glitches. No Jaggies. Smooth 60 fps & 1080p is glorious!
    Here's what DF forgot to mention : The glistening Bump-mapped textures in the 'Treasure Vault' are entirely missing... they are now flat textures with no bump maps or shine to them... sad I really wanted to see that part looking amazing... better on PS3 there! Same with those bump mapped windows in the bunker, they look flat now... the plants and foliage have missing/toned down spectral effects, the cliffside where Nate uses vines to swing on is now tinted green - it looks alittle sickly in the re-master as it was originally white to match the Fort colour. The water room where Nate's ambushed is WAY too dark to see anything, the ending skybox and boat scenes still look ridiculous! Although there's better cloth physics in the re-master. You really see the cartoony vibe they had in the first game with the re-done assets and graphics, never realised that before.
    All in all 95% improved and that last 5% still looking meh... Good effort though!

    The graphics are clearer and more detailed on the PS4 version but for some reason, I really like colour and contrast of the original ps3 version.

      From what ive seen most games that where on both ps3 n ps4 are like computer on low settings n computer on high settings..i see nothin wrong with the ps3 graphics. Ps3 to ps4 was not as big of leap as ps2 was too ps3.yes ps4 is better graphically..wii u is very very lil difffrence over ps3 n xbox 360..but ps4 is a bigger jump.

    The thing that stood out to me the most is the improvement on Nathan's face. They somehow (more or less) managed to take Nate's head from Uncharted 3 and put in onto his Uncharted 1 model. Impresseive.
    You can tell Bluepoint specialise in remasters and remakes exclusively.

    The ps4 version seems to be missing the specular effects of the original. I played the demo last night and was wondering why it looked so flat, then watched comparison videos this morning and confirmed it. The specularity on the materials is largely missing. very weird. Also, Drakes clothes dont seem to have the "wet" effect of the original. To see missing specular action, go to 1:50 in the video and look at the fern by the log. that is just one example.

    • @trigger2
      @trigger2 8 лет назад +3

      +thomas shaw ok, I see it is sort of a scene by scene thing. Still I do prefer the harder spectral quality and the darker contrast. Everything just looks too soft now and sort of cartoony.

    At the time if it's release, Uncharted had some of the best visuals around. Sure today you'll see the aged look, but that is true for every game released at that time.

    Did anyone else notice drakes shirt moving with his body, not many games have that, and for the ps3 version back in 2007 to have detail like that is astounding, seriously though for 2007 this shit was advanced looking at the time.

    • @JagsP95
      @JagsP95 8 лет назад +1

      ***** Of course I have, but cloth physics in crysis werent as advanced, but the sandbox engine with the visuals at that time were amazing and still are, im just stating a console game from that time to have something not even most modern games have with realistic cloth movement on the characters body is impressive.

    Man I don’t know there’s just something about 30fps that seems more “special” even “magical. Like watching the jeep chase scene and jumping the bridge it’s like the smoothness of the 60fps kills the atmosphere and doesn’t seem as fantastical than the 30fps. Not sure why that is but the smoothness seems to be killing the feeling of the game. Some times “real” isn’t what the experience needs

  • @vanillabeans32087
    @vanillabeans32087 Год назад +2

    Not trying to take away from it, but the remaster lacks a certain visual flavor of the original. While I'd definitely rather play it than the PS3 original (especially with 60fps), the whole remaster is brightly and flatly lit for my taste. The original had a nice high contrast that I visually dig a lot more. Glad they fixed the shimmery plastic look of the characters though!

  • @MrNiceguy3210
    @MrNiceguy3210 8 лет назад +1

    To be honest, I like the water shader from the PS3 version better.
    Apart from that, everything is better. Nathan Drake doesn't look like he's made of plastic anymore, although some may miss that slightly cartoon look. The colours are less vibrant in the remaster, and Drake's eyes are oddly coloured.

    Loved this game on the PS3, and loved replaying it on the PS4 with the higher frame rate, higher resolution, and improved textures, lighting etc. The PS4 remaster was done very well and made the experience of playing through the game more enjoyable then it was on the PS3 which was already very enjoyable as it was.

    I thought and I still think to this day the ps3 version is magnificent, if u look at certain games that came out right after or a couple years after this game like assassin's creed 3 or Spider-Man it does an amazing job with graphics voice equaling mouth movement textures and much more naughty dog did a great job at the start.
