We were just driving behind you today in Hertfordshire so thought I’d come & check you out. You did not disappoint. Both your rig & you guys are great. Happy travels.
Beautiful van and what a lovely calm and likeable couple…. The van just looks so welcoming and chilled. Great story telling 👍 Subscribed to see more of your adventures. Stay safe…
Love your videos guys! We have a Mazda Bongo, which we have had for two yrs,(done scotland, wales, devon,Cornwall and kent) and we want to.upgrade to something similar to what you Guys have to wildcamp more.
What a great couple you are as they say salt of the earth I’m in the process of gathering things for my van conversion can I ask where you got those max tracks recovery things from
Cheers so much! We have the original Maxtrax MKIl Recovery Tracks. They originate from Oz but are widely available from 4x4 shops around the UK & online. There’s plenty of cheap eBay/Amazon alternatives but we had a mounting system specific for ‘Maxtrax’ already in place from the build, that didn’t fit the holes on the cheap ones so had to cough up the extra in the end. I can’t remember specifically where we ordered them from in the end but I’m pretty sure you’ll find ‘em immediately with a quick online search 🙌
@@OurVanTales thanks for getting back to me so quickly, can’t wait to get started on the van but I’m not new to wild camping as I live on a boat lol, and yes I have subscribed and liked lol
First off, thanks for making and posting your Van Tales videos , I can see a lot of effort and work has gone into them , they do come across very professional with some fantastic scenery and a true way of touring in a campervan, VERY INSPIRING. Your Van Conversion does look very smart with a good feeling of open space for a Van Conversion with a Fixed Bed but what do you do when you want to go to the toilet or get a shower, I would definitely have a small shower system and cassette toilet somewhere inside, but apart from that it looks great, specially the Tap and Sink, well done. Karl.
Hi Karl, thank you so much! We do have a cassette toilet stowed away in the bench seat (for emergencies) but in reality, we just use pee bottles at night & public loos during the day. Body washing is done in the sink and showers taken on occasional ‘site nights’ here & there or outside in the Summer 🥰🙌
Super van both inside and out, Thanks for showing it with your tour. Have you thought about approaching Karcher for sponsorship :-). Looking forward to seeing more of your travels.
Thank you, we LOVE it so much! It’s not so stealthy because it’s so unlike a standard panel van. It sticks out during the day BUT under the cover of darkness, it’s grey colour can hide it nicely. Trekk Vans in Carlisle have their price indications online but it’s an endless & continuing evolvement 🤭👊🏼
If ever you want to sell your van please give me first refusal..I absolutely love it!! I have been wanting one just like yours. I currently own a landrover defender and have been thinking about getting a converted van for a while now. So yours is just what I’m looking for. Whenever your ready.. 😊👍
🤣😉 Ahh, my favourite other vehicle I’ve ever had, my 110 Defender is still sorely missed. One day, I’ll have an old Series Landy but I think the Sprinter is forever 😉✌️
I was about to order your tyres and wheels for my sprinter conversion. I read that the 245/65/R17 tyre you have there is load rating 111S I think - this is rated to 1090kg per axle. The rear of our van a LWB has a max rear axle rating of 2250kg. This means the 2180kg total capacity of your tyres is less than the axle rating of the van. This is probably why some people are using 255/65/R17's which are 1cm wider and have a rating of 1180kg per side. bad news is they're harder to get hold of and might rub.
@@OurVanTales ah interesting, ours is a LWB 1650 front and 2250 rear - so yeah higher. makes sense. yours is FWD as well right? maybe thats the difference
Loving all your adventures, curious to know the exact bed length with the side pods , I'm looking for a fixed bed van and I'm 6'2" like to strech out 😉✌️❤️👌
Hi ya. Where do you store your clothes. And also, do you miss having a shower, how does that work without one? Loving your vids. No airs or graces. Right up my street. My kinda people. Brill. Namaste 🙏 x
Hey Trudy, thanks for getting in touch, clothes go in the overhead lockers and under the bed, nah, the shower works outside during the Summer or a rare campsite visit (body washes are cool too) 😉👊🏼
That's such a tough one to answer in a nutshell......The cost of so many things continues to change as does the van which is forever evolving. I reckon we're in at about £65/70k (ish) but that includes a nearly new (at the time) panel van.
It’s a Netgear Nighthawk M1 4g router with an all inclusive EE SIM card…Works a treat! Our Van was converted for us by Trekk Vans in Carlisle. We delivered an empty panel van & collected an off grid beast 🙌😉
Thoroughly enjoy your videos! We have 2 cars on lease for another year and a bit, unsure whether to get a Transporter and use as a daily or get a cheap run about and go full hog like your guys! For the cost of a Transporter fully loaded I think I'd prefer the bigger van as more of a long term investment for the money. Subd
Top man, great to have you onboard 🙌. Yeah, we came very close to going down the Transporter route coz they’re awesome but realised you get so much more space and value for money going bigger 👊🏼
Hey, lovely van 😍 just what we're looking for. How do you find living in it? Every van builder I speak to says get a LWB but I want a MWB as they look cooler and are easier to park. Also how big is your bed? Love your channel ❤️
Hey Adie, cheers, yeah….We LOVE the MWB. Ok, the LWB has more room but with the side pods allowing a full size double bed to fit sideways, we have plenty of living space in the middle. It goes anywhere, parks up (within reason) in most spaces and looks wicked. If we were more static, we’d probably appreciate a LWB for the comfort & extra size but ours is an adventure van, we like to chuck it about a bit so MWB has been a great choice for us! 🙌
Van looks a top quality build ,did you buy the van and then get it converted ( if so could you say the company who built it ) or did you just buy the van as is ? Really like that lay out , stay safe I loved your Whitstable video stay safe

Great van guys. Do you know how wide the van is internally without the side pods?
I'd love to know this too being 6'4 tall
Thank you, it’s 5’8” wide at bed level with all the insulation but in to the pods, it’s 6’4”
@@OurVanTales that’s music to my ears, your van is the best I’ve seen in a MWB, I’d love an identical design
Loving all your adventures, curious to know the exact bed length with the side pods , I'm looking for a fixed bed van and I'm 6'2" like to strech out 😉✌️❤️👌
Cheers mate, appreciate that. The ‘inside pod’ measurement is 6’2 so it’s a tough choice is you like a stretch 😉
