Greetings from Finland. I just recently stumbled upon your build videos and especially the electronics and insulation ones were very informative. They were the first videos of van builds with exact and proper knowledge of the subject on hand. This van tour was the cream on the pudding. Thorough and informative with measurements when needed. The removable bed-frame seems like a very handy idea to be able to use the van as a van if needed. I will definitely be leaving a thank you on PayPal as well!

Let me give you a little tip about attaining the things you want in life I don't know if you've ever heard of what's referred to as the law of attraction but that s*** is real and true. Every single one of us and everything on the planet holds a vibrational frequency our frequency is what the automatic defibrillator would look for when the EMTs show up if you don't have what the defibrillators looking for that means the soul has left the body. Every thought and emotion above contentment brings health wealth and abundance in all forms every thought and emotion below contentment brings all the crap you do not want. Cuz you see what people don't understand is those emotions hold their own frequency themselves which is how your body through the neurological system creates the illnesses and disease within our bodies. Now that I put all the pieces of the puzzle together well at least most of them I'm ready to go hit the road and have some fun. I wish you were over here in the US I would hire you. Awesome van. The craftsmanship is of a really high standard and it’s so well thought out. You should be very proud of it. Thanks for all the van build videos too, they’re very useful and instructive. 👍
It's an amazing build. Personally, I think the garage is kind of the "Pièce de résistance" of the whole van because it is so well organized and crafted like a thing of art.
Hi Greg, thank you for inspiring me to do my own van build. I began to think about doing a van conversion during lockdown and like most people of my generation I searched for books on the subject. One of the books I looked at had a review that said "This books ok but if you really want to know how to do a conversion then have a look at Greg Virgo's van build series on youTube". So that is what I did and I loved it. I watched the series at least 3 times all the way through, making notes and then a plan. I don't wish to be a van lifer, I just wanted a mini motor home for trips away exploring and so I bought a 5.4m Citroen Relay. I based the internal layout on an Autotrail V-LINE 540 SE, I finally completed the conversion in June this years and I am delighted with the finished result. Without your brilliant videos I would not have been able to do this, so as a thank you I have transferred money equivalent to the cost of good hard backed book, to your account. All the best Mark.
Hello Mark, what an absolute gentleman you are and thank you for sharing your journey with me. It’s really nice to know that the videos have helped you to realise your dream van 🚐 and can now start using it. Thank you very much for your generous gift. You are very much appreciated 🤩

I love that everything has been all thought through including little details that often come back to bite Greg. When you return, I imagine you have had some thoughts on changes, additions and subtractions? This would also make a worthwhile and informative video I would think.
One change, from me after 25 years travelling in a motorhome, would be a wash basin in bathroom. My wife would never tolerate shaving, cleaning teeth, etc, in a basin where food is prepared.
Watching your van builds from Australia and I gotta say that you are by far the best van builder I've come across. Great job and thank you so much for sharing this masterpiece with us.

Sir your camper van is the best. The details at a technical level and design are way better than those van manufactured by camping motorhomes company 🙂🙃👍🏻👌🏻
Hi Rafael, I always wanted this build to rival a professional motorhome from a total DIY builder and I recon I have done a pretty good job by all accounts so it is possible to DIY at a third of the cost.
Words cannot describe how great this build is! I have looked through quite a lot of build videos and only yours seems to be least compromise one! Even professional builds end up feeling cramped and non versatile. - big and comfortable shower. No folding walls or 10 minute curtain setup or washing outside. Just a proper shower...And yours is enormous! There is even potential to cut 10 cm and gain even more space. Shower sink with trigger - so simple and brilliant!! I would add some tiny hooks in shower cabin - piece of rope from left to right and you have a drying room. Or place the rope as close to ceiling as possible - hidden for everyday and always ready to be used. Unless you have already thought about it 😉 - reasonably big kitchen with constant workspace to utilise. I love the idea with chopping board hidden in sink. Flipped table is another plus. You get both big opening and a lot of space to work on demand. Emergency outside shower in warm weather from kitchen...again, amazing idea! - actually big and usable living space. Small yet versatile table, one of the best uses of front seats as well. The only thing i might consider changing would be 4 th seat instead of bench, to allow 4 people to travel. It would sacrifice some space for heater though. Still, it's a matter of needs 😊 - i saw the bed and was like 'yeah, looks like all vans have permanently attached beds'. And the you have noted that bed can be dismantled / removed. THIS BUILD IS PERFECT! So few people actually think about it but it would allow van to be used in emergencies to carry stuff. It's IMO quite a waste to have such a big vehicle and not even give it a chance to carry longer objects. Plus, there is always another excuse to run engine during off season. - sealed gas bottle refillable on gas stations. Easy access water bottle. I could go on and on. You have really thought about everything... I hope your videos stay for long here. I am going to use them as primary guide in my van build! Thank you for inspiration Greg! Safe travels!
I get way too excited when I see all your cables and pipes neatly arranged... ;D Great tour and the mattress and honeycomb info is super useful right at this moment. :) - Polly
Greg Virgoe Planning has kicked up a gear, we are going through each system and trying to pick and understand each component. The insulation, ventilation and plumbing are stable, but still struggling a bit with the heating (both space and water). We have set our self the challenge to work out a system without the use of gas or diesel... mainly to see how far we can take it as we’ll never know if we don’t try right. 🙂 We don’t have the van yet, but we are pretty set on looking for a Crafter. We are aiming to actively start looking to buy in September (hopefully by that time we’ll have the knowhow to recognise a well treated engine from a worthless one)
@@FreedomStrider Polly, can you clarify what you mean by no gas or diesel for both space heat and hot water? There really are only three choices: Diesel or gasoline (Espar, Truma, etc.), propane or electric. Espar and Truma are out of my comfort range monetarily, as is the solar/battery set-up to support space heating. For these reasons, I went with propane for space heating (Suburban NT-Q series) and on-demand hot water (Coleman H2Oasis). As cooking is such a small electrical load in terms of total kilowatt hours, I opted for an induction cooktop and convention/microwave oven (also two only a handful of AC loads in the entire build).
@@ARepublicIfYouCanKeepIt Well, I'm deep in research to try and find a solution, but my current challenge is to compare the load of the 3 systems (diesel, LPG and electric). I'm both trying to find out how much the installation of each will cost and, naturally, how much they will take to run and maintain. I would like to definitely avoid having to install LPG tanks inside or outside (for multiple reasons) but I don't fancy the space it takes and since I like DIY-ing stuff as much as possible I can't say I trust myself enough to safely deal with gas (both for installation and future maintenance). Then comes the environmental aspect, diesel is dirtier than LPG, but I understand the installation better and it's more manageable, for me. Plus the van already has a diesel system. Which brings me to option 3, electric... oh bother... I will need a second van to carry my batteries and solar panels... Or do I? ;D I have been looking into waste heat recovery systems with heat exchangers along with heat pumps. I'm a newbie at both, but they look interesting. Heat exchangers are used also in the espar systems, but I was thinking what if we catch the residual heat from the exhaust fumes or the egr or something. The first issue I see is the on-demand aspect - If I don't drive for a day or two (in winter) then a popsicle I'll be. The heat pumps, seem perfect, taking heat from -10 to -20 degrees and for a small space like a van I imagine they will be sufficient. However, the ones I have currently found are quite big as they are meant for houses. Imagine an aircon unit attached to back doors of your van, stealth mode... quite the ninja I know ;D Plus, because of their size they still take about 1000W to run. So that's my current dilemma. What induction cooktop and microwave did you get? Do you mind sharing your electric load, battery bank and solar sizing data? The loads you used to size your battery system?
Thanks Greg for your inspiration and excellent demonstrations that have given me the confidence so we have bitten the bullet and bought a Sprinter that we are converting. Since start of lockdown I’ve not been able to work as a pilot but my misses and now having a project to do is what has kept me sane! Thanks again.
Amazing build ! You are very talented and I think your layout is the best I have ever seen. I really love that you kept the cassette inside rather than cutting a door on the outside of the van. When I build mine I want to copy what you have done. I cannot see any faults, spectacular build. Thank you for sharing it.
Greg, no bullshite, out of the countless vanlife conversions I've seen yours tops the list. 9 years till retirement for me and this one is the closest I've seen to perfect. You've seemed to make space out of nothing and no space is wasted.
Excellent. Ultimate Mercedes van! One thing I would add to the shower and the amazing humidistat fan is air inlet from outside, to replace the humid air. Would require an air duct through the bottom of the van that will need to be shut when the fan goes out.
You should be very proud of yourself mate. Your van build is the best I've ever seen, and as an electrical engineer I can safely say the quality and standard of your electrical system is second to none, just phenomenal.

Only those included by the manufacturer. Custom-designed, CNC-cut kits that can be installed with just a drill/driver and a wrench.
Best van on RUclips, bar none , and with absolutely no exception. Fabulous workmanship , planning and presentation. Well done Greg.
Jesse Jameson thank you very much 👍🏼😊
Perfect end to a brilliant series.
My T shirt reads .... Greg got me into this!
Happy travels guys.
Can you send me a T shirt too? Ha, ha, ha!!
Andrew Cutting you don’t mind if I pinch that idea do ya. 😀👍🏼
Think there are more than a couple Greg’s my hero’ people here. I find myself going back to the videos each time I undertake another job on my van. Wish I could be as quick and as neat!!
Greg Virgoe be my guest 😄👏be good to meet you some time and compare shirts
@@zedlicious Remember this is a video, and was likely edited. Reality is messier and takes longer. Don't sell yourself short.
Thankyou for taking the time to illustrate all of your efforts, very watchable too. I am an electrical engineer and you explain all the aspects of selection and installation perfectly in terms I appreciate. Great build quality. Enjoy your journeys and I hope to be joining you soon,
I watched all of the build series, but the full room tour tops it out!
Thx so much!
;-)
Horst Szibulski thank you so much for following and for all the amazing comments along the way.
Hi Greg, it was great to meet you & your Wife at Edale, thanks for being some friendly & showing us your van. It looks fantastic. Here’s to your adventures together. At the best Jacquie & Joe. 😊
It’s was a pleasure meeting you. We both really enjoy these meet ups. Everyone is so friendly and we always have a great time.
The layout with the swivel seat is exactly what I would want - superb build Greg - thanks for sharing your knowledge!
I thought that aswell... Until I saw it costs 500 quid!
I had always loved Mercedes sprinters because of the durability. This van is awesome from inside out .The van tour was precise and to the point ,this is the best van tour out there loved it.
Thank you Sharon for taking the time to watch and leave lovely feedback. 🙏🏼😊
Hi Sharon I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌹🌹
This is one of the most complete and forethought builds I have seen! Well done and enjoy the fruits of your labor!
Greg I really can't believe what an incredible job you did on your van. I am old school, my old Renault Trafic i am still working on, is still a labour of love, but watching your videos I think when Celine and I get married in August we might set our heart on a Sprinter... your videos are inspiring mate. Please do visit us if you are ever in Brittany. Best, Matt
Thanks for the formal tour of your lovely van. Your van build videos have helped so many of us. What a great use of space, craftsmanship and clear thorough explanations at each step!
Tranquility Travels really pleased that they have been useful to you 😊
Excellent Job. A lot of home built vans are pretty rough but the craftsmanship in this one is stellar. Very well thought out too.
Andrew Martin thank you very much for that kind comment 😊
Greg, you may not realise it yet, but you are going to break records ;)
I have been searching for this video of yours so many times.
You are an inspiration! Thank you.
If you come through the east of Spain, feel welcome at my Ranch and paradise.

@@GregVirgoe, do you have a website, a course? Can you share an email where we can reach you?
Greg is just THE cleverest bloke ever!!
This is the best van conversion I’ve ever seen, the quality of fit and finish is meticulous, even the stuff you can’t see is tidy. We love the additional drinking water system.
Life beyond Bricks thank you so much. The drinking water dies also allow our underslung tank to last a week without topping up. 👍🏼😀
You rightly show your work with pride. Amazingly well designed and executed.

Congrats for building this van and Sharing it with us Greg. Thanks !

The best channel, van and RUclipsrs ever, a fab van which any motorhome builder should aspire to, it's that good!! Love it, thanks for all the detail, I look forward to the next video 😎👍🏻
Many thanks Ian for such nice feedback hope you continue to enjoy our videos.
You sir are an artist. I left watching this video until last and the care and attention to detail as you've built this van in all your videos have been a joy to watch. It is my dream to one day do a van conversion and you have set the bar very high. I need to go away and practice my DIY skills.
That’s all it takes Rob, I’ve never had a hands on job and didn’t do any woodwork until 2yrs ago. Just started making simple boxes out of scrap plywood. Watched hundreds of woodwork channels. Like Norm, Jay, Marius, Kyle and many others to pick up tips
Well done, Greg! Gave me a lot of ideas. Love that "heat curtain" you made at the back of the van with the Truma vent! And good idea on the separate drinking water tank.
Really enjoyed watching your build right through to taking your first adventure. Ive said before you are are a real craftsman. I hope anyone finding your video appreciates that.
Richard Sumner we have had so many fantastic comments just like yours which makes the whole process so worth while 😀👍🏼
Great job Greg, i admire your work and attention to detail. Thanks for all your content. Hats off to you my friend.👍👏👌

Wow! Very professional. Looks like a large factory OEM van. You have been inspiring for my build.
I really appreciate you taking the time to leave nice feedback 👍🏼😃
Finally! One of the best professional van builds on RUclips .You look at T6 transporters for 60k and they are not finished to the detail of your van congrats ,wish i had your skill and knowledge.
saltire546 and ours was built for a third of that price. It’s achievable I never had a practical job on the tools. It’s down to trial and error and practice on scrap wood.
Dunno why I'm watching so many Van conversion videos but this is by far the best I've seen. Nothing about this looks even a little bit self built. It's pretty much perfect.
I've seen so many van build videos but this is by far the best. The detail of the work put in from the layout to plumbing/electrical work is so satisfying. Congrats guys, I hope one day I can achieve a van build to this level
I'm about to take possession of my dream band. A 2022 sprinter 4x4 170 wheelbase. I have watched so many videos on insulation and apparently the universe thinks I need to see one more so I look forward to it and your channel looks like it's going to be filled with information. Let the adventure begin
Well if it’s factual information you need then you are at the right place. My insulation videos are based on the actual science and maths and not just conjecture like some others. I also have practical demonstration to prove these facts. That van definitely is the holy grail for van life. I would love to be able to afford one of those.
Good luck with your build 👍🏼😊
@@GregVirgoe yes sir I want to thank you very much I've now watched several of your videos and I do appreciate the fact very much so that you cover your ass and you do your homework. Happy New Year just remember when that Bible says ask believe receive it is meant to be taken literally. I am living proof. Happy New Year

Excellent! And what a smart design and lovely person presenting
It's an amazing build. Personally, I think the garage is kind of the "Pièce de résistance" of the whole van because it is so well organized and crafted like a thing of art.
Worth the wait, you've done a great job with it Greg, thanks for sharing the process.
That makes me happy 😃 thank you very much.

What a fantastic job you have done, amazing van build, one of the best I've seen on RUclips
bob f really appreciate your kind comment. Thank you
I love that everything has been all thought through including little details that often come back to bite Greg.
Love all your videos Greg , you are such a perfectionist with a very keen eye for detail. Safe travels and looking forward to more videos soon.

love the way its all explained, the build and thorough attention to detail is off the scale. wow!!!! Well done on an amazing job.
Unless you have already thought about it 😉
- reasonably big kitchen with constant workspace to utilise.
Still, it's a matter of needs 😊
- i saw the bed and was like 'yeah, looks like all vans have permanently attached beds'.
I get way too excited when I see all your cables and pipes neatly arranged... ;D
Great tour and the mattress and honeycomb info is super useful right at this moment. :) - Polly
Hi Polly, how are all your plans going. Found your van yet?
Greg Virgoe Planning has kicked up a gear, we are going through each system and trying to pick and understand each component. The insulation, ventilation and plumbing are stable, but still struggling a bit with the heating (both space and water).
We have set our self the challenge to work out a system without the use of gas or diesel... mainly to see how far we can take it as we’ll never know if we don’t try right. 🙂
We don’t have the van yet, but we are pretty set on looking for a Crafter.
Or do I? ;D
I have been looking into waste heat recovery systems with heat exchangers along with heat pumps.
You should be very proud of yourself Greg you've done a fantastic job I've been so looking forward to thìs vid 😁
Well, have to say you've done an Ace job on the vehicle. Attention to detail is second to none and result is much better than the 'Experts'.
Thank you very much
Lou has got very professional at filming Greg, I hope you pay her good wages?!?!? 🍻
Marc’s Fx she still prefers to be behind the camera instead of in front. 😊
The bashful star 😉😊
Amazing build ! You are very talented and I think your layout is the best I have ever seen. I really love that you kept the cassette inside rather than cutting a door on the outside of the van. When I build mine I want to copy what you have done. I cannot see any faults, spectacular build. Thank you for sharing it.
Tan and van both looking good 👍🏻
Max B lol love it 😊
Greg, no bullshite, out of the countless vanlife conversions I've seen yours tops the list. 9 years till retirement for me and this one is the closest I've seen to perfect. You've seemed to make space out of nothing and no space is wasted.
Such beautiful work. Thanks so much for posting. Congratulations and enjoy!
Excellent.
Ultimate Mercedes van!
One thing I would add to the shower and the amazing humidistat fan is air inlet from outside, to replace the humid air.
Would require an air duct through the bottom of the van that will need to be shut when the fan goes out.
I didn’t make a point of showing it on the video but the shower door has a transfer grille in it at low level for the make up air. Thank you 😊
Very enjoyable Greg..watched all your vids already and this just finishes it nicely
Thank you for following us Kevin and hope you continue to enjoy the channel 😀
You should be very proud of yourself mate. Your van build is the best I've ever seen, and as an electrical engineer I can safely say the quality and standard of your electrical system is second to none, just phenomenal.
