Yeah I have to say it seems a little more fun and less like "lets redub this again before they kill us for not dubbing it again" but that's kind of expected
Fun Fact: A good number of animators behind the new generation of My Little Pony are Sailor Moon fans, so the show has Sailor Moon references sprinkled throughout the series lol.
There's a flashback scene in Hunter X Hunter manga showing Alluka and Killua in her room and two of the dolls she's playing with are Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask.
"Oh my god he is Tuxedo Mask I don't believe it" -- I died. The delivery was so unbelievably 90s and hilariously flat that it almost sounds like the actress did that as an outtake and the team went "let's put that in the show!" I am fairly convinced to watch (re-watch? I literally haven't seen any Sailor Moon since before I was 10 and don't remember a lick of it) the DiC dub just from that comparison you showed. Also I certainly do think that your rating (and enjoyment) of the show comes heavily from your nostalgia, but I'm perfectly okay with that because of how up-front you are with everything and how willing you are to present the bad with the good.
Iron Review Pony Because he's not really into the weeb stuff, he just likes video games and a bunch of shows (usually related to games). That kind of stuff.
It's actually not all that surprising that people don't know about Sailor Moon especially when you realize the show only ran on Toonami in the 2000s for about a single run through and then was replaced by Yu Yu Hakusho.
And did you know, those mysterious older teens Haruka and Michiru are really... Sailor Uranus and Neptune, respectively? I know, the track star and the cool violin player are sailor scouts! (It took them FOREVER in the anime to figure that out.)
Mind officially blown. Actually, scratch that, outside of Rei and Ami, the rest of the Sailor Guardians have single digit IQs, so I could see how most of them couldn't figure it out, despite the eye mask being the only thing 'disguising' Mamoru Chiba from being Tuxedo Mask. Even stupider, he looks exactly like King Endymion, mask and all, so I'm not sure how Chibiusa took that long to figure it out as well.
People say it's either shoujo or shounen (like the original Cutey Honey) plus fantasy, supernatural or even sci-fi. Yea, this makes it very hard to search for magical girl anime on some sites.
I honestly love Sailor Moon, it was my first anime. I'm 25 now and have been reading it and watching it since the 90s. it's actually how I picked out my daughter's name (serenity) I always though it was beautiful and when I found out I was having a girl I knew it was her name. 😊😊 I also have every sailor scouts symbol down my spine ❤️❤️❤️
Coming from a Sailor Moon fan, this made my day. I agree with everything you said and had a great laugh with your Zoisite comment. Great video :) - Robyn
At the time Pokemon first aired, I couldn't even recognize it as an anime. It was a cartoon. A better one, perhaps, but I didn't hear that term until high school.
We have VHS tapes in my house of Pokemon, Sailor Moon, All Purpose Cultural Catgirl Nuku Nuku, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, we watched Slayers when I was younger, and all this has resulted in me having no fucking clue what my first anime was. My parents have been watching it since before I was born, and I never really thought of any of them as "anime" just "shows we watch sometimes." The first one I can think of that I really thought of as an anime was Fairy Tail, which I have since decided is really... not that great...
Oh my God, I'm so glad you did this!! I'm right there with you, Sailor Moon was the very first anime I've ever watched, and it holds a very special place in my heart. Thank you so much for posting this.
I'm 27. And I still love this show. Its just fucking fun...and genuinely funny. The flaws are obvious and inherent, but they honestly have their charms. Its like Power Rangers but with more nuanced characters and darker themes. Even the filler is mostly fun. But lord, the original DIC edit/dub is cancer. I have to totally be an asshole about the nostalgia fans for the DIC dub. Its pure shit. Its a total butchering of the source material in every single way.
The finale of the first Season of Sailor Moon felt so earned. I remember at like 6 years old just bawling as the events unfolded. And when Serena finally stands before the final boss and that badass song kicks up? Goddamn chills.
I would never thought the day would come when Tristan reviews Sailor moon... looks like 2017 is a good year after all... (its too early to say that...)
My very first anime is Cardcaptor Sakura, just after I graduated kindergarten, it aired on a local TV channel. I'm still in love with it and no matter how good anime can be, over two hundred shows I've watched since then and it's still in this very special place in my heart. I'm ultimately hyped for the continuation in early 2018, my inner 5 year old inside me is screaming like crazy. Arkada, I'd love to see your opinion and view of Cardcaptor Sakura, and I'm sure some of us would like to know as well.
If you somehow never heard of Sailor Moon in the 90's... Where's your rock and can I live there? Also First rule: we don't speak of the DiC/Cloverway dub unless you want to know what cousins meant. I more prefer the manga and Crystal, I get it didn't give characters time to grow But the 90's anime had villain infighting and a infamous finale
DarylGreen OathkeeperRoxas99 yeah um I'd refer getting a series that's faithful to the Uranus and Neptune love relationship and getting the Salior stars right (I do love the 90's series too)
Crawford Graham a lot of 90's dubs were not good to the point people can't give modern dubs a chance, hell to the point people get anal over official dubs, official subs. Example, Sailor Moon when Viz brought it back. Who wastes their life nitpicking 200 episodes of 90's Sailor Moon, 39 episodes of Crystal, and the Viz dub? People get on me for being butt hurt but that's just asinine.
I usually agree with you on almost all your opinions, and this is no exception! Sailor Moon was my first anime, I do enjoy the ViZ dub more but not without my appreciation for the original DIC, and it's SO ironic 'cause I was JUST watching the new ViZ dub like two days ago! I'm excited to hear more from you on it!
There is something so aesthetically pleasing about that '90's animation style this anime has. I didn't even grow up with this but I still find it pleasing too look at.
That 2014 dub is actually quite good! I usually avoid dubs because of their poor quality and complete disdain for the source material, but that one sounded like a good dub.
This anime reached the world, probably not like DBZ but it did. In Colombia it was the kind of show men watched but wouldn't admit to it, but we all knew, we knew. To me, this and Candy Candy (yes, I said it) were the first anime shows I watched without knowing what anime was and they bring a lot of nostalgia, specially because I watched them with my sisters. Good times for sure. Now, the anime that really got me into this media was Cowboy Bebop. That's when I knew how transcendent Anime could be and I just fell in love with it. Great video man, great video!
200 BABY!!! Been following you since the early lab coat days. You helped get me into anime and I can't thank you enough. While I don't always share your same opinion on certain shows I still watch every single video. Here's to 200 more, stay frosty my friend. :)
"I've been watching anime for -- a long time..." You can see the pain and regret staring back at you through his lifeless eyes, pulling you in, closer into the screen.
Thanks for continuing to do these reviews Arkada! You're one of the few reviewers where I'll watch every episode you put out and your take on a given show is one I always weigh in my own viewing decisions.
People will let it die when they've stopped having fun with it =P. You've stopped having fun with it, and that's of course fine. Others still mildly enjoy it though, which is of course also fine.
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR 200TH EPISODE ARKADA!! My sister and I are loyal fans of your reviews and whenever possible, we seek your recommendations before/after watching an anime. I hope I can continue watching you for another 8 years, though I believe I started two years ago. Thank you!!
Congrats to the 200th review! In my opinion you really are the best in this area! From an anime standpoint I am as weird as one can be. I knew the series like Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball back in the 90s but they never caught my attention. I was well over 30 when Haruhi showed me the way... Now I have over 200 entries completed on MAL :D
Arkada, after seeing this review, I humbly request a review of Revolutionary Girl Utena. It is a show that came out right after the big anime boom cause by shows like SM and others, and I feel it is greatly over looked!
Joel Quinonet: no there isn't. He only talks about it in the Another Top 15-ish Anime recommendations video. He even mentions how much the minute he talks about the show doesn't do it justice.
Sailor Moon is one of those shows that I've had a weird attraction to but never got into until recently. I grew up with Power Rangers so the formulaic nature of Sailor Moon is ironically what drew me to it. I saw a couple of episodes some few years ago and stopped due to lack of interest. Fast forward to just a few months ago and I watched the same episodes with the Viz dub and before I knew it, I blitzed through half the first season and went on to finish the entire series in the following months and I think Sailor Moon may be somewhere in my Top 20 anime now. Also, Jupiter is best Sailor Scout!
The question needs definitions. The first anime feature film to get to America was circa 1961: "Alakazam the Great", loosely based on "Son-Goku the Monkey King". Technically, 1980's "The Last Unicorn" was anime, created by Studio Topcraft and directed by Toru Hara. Other films started creeping in, from "Laputa" and "Kiki's Delivery Service" to "Akira". Not everyone knew what they were seeing when they saw it...
My first anime? Well, that's easy! It's Angel Beats! I watched it 2 years ago or so... _Continues the video_ Well... Fuck me... Now I have to admit my first animes ever were Tokyo Mew Mew and Magical Doremi... When I discovered these shows as a kid I had never seen anything like that before. It was so different from everything I watched before (especially the continuity between the episodes which kept me going) so I just tried to watch as many episodes as possible. I was only 8 or so but I could tell how girly it was. I don't know if I am happy about remembering that... Now that I think of it I also saw a few episodes of Keroro before reading pretty much all of the manga, maybe Hamtaro and some other show about magical mugs with gnomes in them... I never understood that last one. It bored me to death really.
Great review and look back at Sailor Moon. I watched Sailor Moon as a young child back when the DiC dub was first airing. It was technically my first anime though I had no idea what anime was until several years later. Like you I have a lot of nostalgia for the series but have also found it fun to rewatch as an adult. There's just something so fun and charming about Sailor Moon that makes it work even 25-ish years later. On rewatching the original series as well as the sequel ones it's interesting to see how the characters both change and stay the same, especially Usagi. By the time SuperS rolls around she's clearly grown a bit as a character and the show has tempered her personality a bit yet also kept it true to where she started. Then into the sadly never dubbed or released in North America Stars she's really grown up and changed, turning into the hero and princess/queen she was always meant to be.
I've met people who have never heard of Sailor Moon or Pokemon. How such people exist, I have no idea. As for my first anime, I find it really hard to pinpoint it since I saw multiple anime when I was young like Sailor Moon, Cardcaptors, Hamtaro, and Pokemon. But I'm pretty sure my first one is an anime from the 80's that is VHS tape my mom used to rent for me when I was like 4. It's Japanese named is "Magical Princess Minky Momo" while it's dub name is "The Magical World of Gigi". I didn't even remember that anime until a few years ago when I ran into a picture of it and it was so familiar. That's how the memory of me being like 4 wanting that VHS tape in Hollywood Video came back. So long ago. I have a pretty good memory. XD If you don't know what anime that is, look it up. I wouldn't be surprised if the creator of Sailor Moon liked it and was part of her inspiration for the series. Especially since Minky Momo looks a lot like Sailor Mini Moon.
Not gonna lie, but I actually did like seeing this as a little kid. Sure it's not exactly a masterpiece, but it was pretty enjoyable. I mean, it's sure beats the hell out of Pokémon. :-/ Also, happy 200th review, Arkada.
It's been a long time since I watched my first anime but I'm pretty sure my first anime is Digimon Savers. I love it even till this day (even though other people might not like it).
watching arkada's previous review, I can say that he has mellowed out in his critiques. Not that it's a bad thing. He's less elitist-ish (if that makes sense XD
Well, I personally wouldn't mind discussing Sailor Moon for hours on end. No, seriously, I've gone into rants about it. Same as you, it was my first anime and still remains something that I absolutely love (as evidenced by my bookcase display of merch.) Great review. And you bring up some good points on the weaknesses of the original -- it's formulaic, predictable, and it hasn't aged gracefully. But Crystal also suffers from going at too fast of a pace, not allowing you to care for the characters unless you're coming in with nostalgia goggles like us. I would recommend that anyone getting into Sailor Moon maybe look for an abridged/condensed list of episodes for the original, read the manga, and then watch Crystal. What's your opinion on tackling this series that way? Congrats on your 200th review! :)
This was mine, too! Well, apart from Pokemon when I was a kid. It seems like a bizarre first anime; I'm not even really sure how I came across it. I think I found it by accident on youtube or something lol
Congrats on 200 reviews!! Sailor Moon was also my first and one of my favorite animes to this day!! I love Sailor Moon for its filler and I feel like that's why it's so good, it takes something so predictable and makes it enjoyable and loveable.
Well I mean now a days people are really fond of anime in hs. I mean sure people arnt out wearing full on Akatsuki robes and shit, but most people tend to like or have at least tried anime
I have good memories of sitting down with my older sisters and watching it, heck the collector's edition of the redub is on my shelf. This was one of my first anime up there with DBZ, Pokémon, Technoman and Digimon. So allow me to say thanks for staying frosty and congrats on this the 200th review
City Sweets yeah don't listen to those people, yes, Madoka Magica is dark, but it's one of, if not the best, animes I've ever seen, it has some incredible writing and even better characters and music. You should give it a chance, it's really good
Man, you really got me thinking about my first anime... It was when I was 4, my dad brought some CD's to me in a small box... It had some astro boy, grandizer, Eva, Sinbad and the OG DragonBall... The last mentioned was my first. It was so beautiful, so wierd and different and it had colors lol ( TV didn't have color in my country till 2006 ) so it was surly unique. I hold the og dragonball in high regards, it was quite magical. Naruto was my first conscious purchase/watch of anime and it was at the time when I started watching you and gigguk and Mr anime... And using Mal forums to talk with people who shared the same interest as mine... I never, and I mean never talked about anime outside of the internet untill last year in college. So that's literally 18 years of my life being a fan. I miss the waifu wars... And having to wait about an extra week on RUclips to watch the latest episode... Fuck I wrote an essay,,, geez.
I've been watching your videos since I was in the 7th grade and now I'm a junior in college - that's crazy!! I really hope to see you continue for a long time : )
perhaps we should start a club. on a side note, the first time I saw sailor moon it was on a forin channel and in a langwitch I didn't understand. still it got to me and I couldn't stop watching
These recommendations are never gonna go away so I'll just say this. As a guy, I like this stuff to a point. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and speaking of hearts, My favorite S&M (Just kidding;P) Sailor Moon movie is Hearts in Ice. The one where Luna is attracted to a man who happens to be an astronomer after he bravely saved her from being hit by a car. Meanwhile a villianess (I forget her name. Let's just call her Ice Queen) wants to freeze the world over for reasons :P and Luna loses almost all interest in Arttimus. This is a VERY cute movie and I cried a little toward the end when Luna temporally assumed human form in order to tell her 'Space Man' that she loves him :) Good stuff, and thanks for taking the time to read this, because this movie is profound and beautiful on MANY levels.
congrats on you 200th review. been a viewer and subscriber since your review of fruits basket. your content is a lot of fun. Keep up the good work Tristan :)
I have never watched Sailor Moon but I did watch Cardcaptor Sakura (or Cardcaptors in the dub) I remember the design of the cards and the concept of it being interesting. So much so that years later I got a handmade Cardcaptor cards as well as the book and even the little chain that Sakura uses to summon her cane. It's been a while since I last watched it. I might go back to watch it again
My first anime that really grabbed me was Lupin the 3rd entirely because he carried a P-38 and I knew way more about guns than anime. That told me a lot about his character just by seeing what weapon he carried. It's hard to say exactly what anime was the first one I saw. I remember watching Toonami when they first started showing Anime. So maybe then? Congrats on 200 videos!
congrats on your 200th review. I only started to follow your channel since last year and I really love all your videos. hoping for more great reviews to come :)
Well to answer the question my first anime was Digimon when I was 7 and it blew my freaking mind! I mean it was really cool but what got me was how it ended with a cliffhanger for the next episode. It was the first time that had ever happed when I was young and it hooked me. Which is good because I still think its one of the best anime ever. I never saw Sailor Moon growing up, but congrats on 200th review!
Ashiente it's fine, I was just curious because I has seen it called magical girl before and just wasn't sure if there was something I didn't get out of it
This was great! You're so right Sailor Moon is the most nostalgic anime ever. I just read an article called In Defense of Magical Girl anime and I really recommend reading it!! Also congrats on 8 years :)
"He IS Tuxedo Mask I don't believe it."
OH GOD MY LUNGS THAT WAS HILARIOUS 😂

That whole exchange reminded me of Lina Inverse.
im not going to say ive seen this show but just by that clip im going to go with the old school lol 11 out of 10... its to cheesey to not love XD
If you are 18 watch the dub of High School Dxd the main voice actor is pure gold. He has 3 or 4 of those moments an episode.
SAILOR MOON isn't a perfect anime but it's filled with life, humor and comprehensible characters and that's what makes it so special.
Fun fact: The Mangaka for Sailor Moon is married to the Mangaka of Hunter X Hunter
Still here hoping that she'll take over the Hunter X Hunter manga drawing
aditya saran For real?
Fun Fact: A good number of animators behind the new generation of My Little Pony are Sailor Moon fans, so the show has Sailor Moon references sprinkled throughout the series lol.
Maxfield Stanton Really?
There's a flashback scene in Hunter X Hunter manga showing Alluka and Killua in her room and two of the dolls she's playing with are Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask.

I have a friend who never heard of Sailor Moon until this very year.
He watches 90s anime.
Francisco Gómez García holy shit what kind of rock was he living under?
Muhammad Nabil A distant, cold rock where never had entered the light of the outside. Until... the moon rose up...
Oh my god! Why or how?
Iron Review Pony Because he's not really into the weeb stuff, he just likes video games and a bunch of shows (usually related to games). That kind of stuff.

at lease sailor moon's filler is better than naruto's.
vanzy01 Agreed. Though the live action Sailor Moon aka PGSM does filler way better than the 90s anime!!
Yeah i agree, SM's fillers are a lot better than Naruto, course SM was airing while the manga was being done so they had to add filler
True, but naruto's story was far better.
Sailor moon filler is what made the series better because the manga was mediocre at best.
I'm glad i saw the show before i read the manga.
"He's tuxedo mask, I can't believe it." Sorry that kills me. XDXDXD
Fucking spoilers, man, how could we know that Mamoru is actually Tuxedo Mask!?
Because it's more obvious than Superman being Clark Kent.
And did you know, those mysterious older teens Haruka and Michiru are really... Sailor Uranus and Neptune, respectively? I know, the track star and the cool violin player are sailor scouts! (It took them FOREVER in the anime to figure that out.)

Wow. That's quite the gateway anime...
The little red haired girl from across the street hope the drug induced logic was worth it
"Get those japanese words out of my face!"
SAY WHAT SAAAAAY WHAAAAAAAAT?
Holy shit that anime had a HUGE amount of what-the- fuckery
Congratulations!! Yay for 200 anime reviews!!!! So proud! I've beena fan ever since!
Hey just one questions: Stardust crusaders review and Diamond is unbreakable review?
Christian Choo that's 2 questions
Christian Choo
He's still in Stardust Crusaders, so they're probably not coming any time soon.
one questions :D
Don't forget shin sekai yori
asdf yes! never forget shinsekai yori! 🍀
Sailor Mercury best girl
Cristian Debortoli As always
If I had to have a waifu, she'd definitely be it.
Sailor Mars all the way!
Cristian Debortoli no sailor Jupiter
Sailor Mercury Black?
200 BABY!!! Been following you since the early lab coat days. You helped get me into anime and I can't thank you enough. While I don't always share your same opinion on certain shows I still watch every single video. Here's to 200 more, stay frosty my friend. :)
"I've been watching anime for -- a long time..."
You can see the pain and regret staring back at you through his lifeless eyes, pulling you in, closer into the screen.
Thanks for continuing to do these reviews Arkada! You're one of the few reviewers where I'll watch every episode you put out and your take on a given show is one I always weigh in my own viewing decisions.
When you gonna' review Cory in the House?
INTYkun when will this dead meme be left with Harambe
Hey it's not a meme ok? If you can't appreciate true HD anime, fuck off!
let it die already
People will let it die when they've stopped having fun with it =P. You've stopped having fun with it, and that's of course fine. Others still mildly enjoy it though, which is of course also fine.
INTYkun what about George Lopez?
This is the first video I've seen of yours and WOW. That intro was phenomenal
I say Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura, Princess Tutu, Futari wa Pretty Cure, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha and then Madoka Magica.
Thank you!!
I didn't learn about anime till sophomore year of high school. The first anime I watched in English and Japanese all the way through.
The english dub you had for the original dub of the reveal of tuxedo mask has always been one of my favoutire scenes. Thankyou for playing that scene
Better than the Nostalgia Critic's review
TheDarkM Doug is more like an outsider looking in. and I think he knew that.
Samir Malik i think he wanted to use a big name as clickbait
ridley1313 He wasn't exactly big yet
Samir Malik not him, sailor moon. he used sailor moon, a big name as click bait for views. also yes, he was very big at that time.
ridley1313 He picks a topic and reviews it. No click bait thumbnails or titles. It's all very blunt.
Thank you for all of your reviews. I'm actually going to rewatch this show now.
Also, happy 200th review. Stay frosty, Arkada.
Jupiter is best girl.
Fight me
HELL YEAH!~ :D
Homura Akemi is best girl
You fools! Sailor Moon is not about pitting girls against each other. Queen Serenity would be ashamed
Sailor Saturn.Messiah of Silence
Agreed
Congrats to the 200th review! In my opinion you really are the best in this area!
From an anime standpoint I am as weird as one can be. I knew the series like Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball back in the 90s but they never caught my attention. I was well over 30 when Haruhi showed me the way... Now I have over 200 entries completed on MAL :D
Arkada, after seeing this review, I humbly request a review of Revolutionary Girl Utena. It is a show that came out right after the big anime boom cause by shows like SM and others, and I feel it is greatly over looked!
UmbreonNova I remember watching him review or talk about that show but the original video got deleted I believe
UmbreonNova already a utena review
Joel Quinonet: no there isn't. He only talks about it in the Another Top 15-ish Anime recommendations video. He even mentions how much the minute he talks about the show doesn't do it justice.
Also he should review Cardcaptor Sakura.
I was going to mention that Utena would be another good fit for 'other anime you might like'/'the progression of the magical girl anime'.
The new intro is like something I would expect from an app startup company.
_Continues the video_
Well...
Lulink lol I loved Tokyo mewmew kish was my bae!!!
Monster was my first anime, I haven't seen much better since over the past 10 years. That is when I first started watching anime, I'm 19 now.
Ben Lawrence i saw attack on titan in second grade
Also, happy 200th review, Arkada.
Congrats for the 200th review, Glass Reflection!!! P.s I can watch you all day talking about Sailor Moon
Dic Dub: "He is Tuxedo mask I don't believe it."
Me: *Laughing my facking ass off*
Well, I personally wouldn't mind discussing Sailor Moon for hours on end. No, seriously, I've gone into rants about it. Same as you, it was my first anime and still remains something that I absolutely love (as evidenced by my bookcase display of merch.)
Great review.
My first anime: Hellsing Ultimate.
How it made me feel: awesome.
First anime? Saint Seiya, was it fun? Yes! was it repetitive? Yes! was it violent? Of course it was!
Jhonatan Perez saint seiya was legendary
saint seiya was also my first anime. man.... that makes feel old. I was 4 years old when I watch it, i'm now 26.
*snap* Yes!
Well, yeah, Sailor Moon is teeming with mythological and astronomical references, so it's pretty obvious :p
Oh I didn't know. Tbh I didn't watch the American version so sorry if I didn't understand
Happy 200th Review. Great video as always. On the note of legal streaming though, if you live in Australia you can watch it on Animelab
"Anime was the cool thing in high school" said no one ever.
Well I mean now a days people are really fond of anime in hs. I mean sure people arnt out wearing full on Akatsuki robes and shit, but most people tend to like or have at least tried anime
@@calebsammons9341 people did wear akatsuki robes at my school
I was the kid in the early 2000s watching inuyasha every morning I got picked on so bad for my inuyasha shirt and now people love them 😂
I have good memories of sitting down with my older sisters and watching it, heck the collector's edition of the redub is on my shelf. This was one of my first anime up there with DBZ, Pokémon, Technoman and Digimon. So allow me to say thanks for staying frosty and congrats on this the 200th review
"How did your first Anime make you feel?"
ashamed of myself 😔
Started following a few months ago. Have gone through literally every non-list video since then :) Good stuff!
Sailor Moon > Card Captors > Princess Tutu > Madoka Magica is what I always suggest, too! :)
I think jumping to Madoka is a bit too sudden though. I can't say it's for everyone, especially for the common magical girl fan.
The fuck is "Card Captors"? Did you mean Card Captor Sakura?
Card captors is the dub. On crunchy roll it’s still called Cardcaptor Sakura it’s just translated to English.
I MIGHT watch madoka but people have been saying it’s dark and if you like magical girl anime it’ll ruin your life so again I might not watch it...
City Sweets yeah don't listen to those people, yes, Madoka Magica is dark, but it's one of, if not the best, animes I've ever seen, it has some incredible writing and even better characters and music. You should give it a chance, it's really good
Arkada! That is the perfect order to watch those shows in. They're all some of my favourites and have shaped who I am today
Are you ever gonna review Hibike! Euphonium?
You're so adorable when you're passionate. I can watch your videos for that alone. Keep making them. :)
I've been watching your videos since I was in the 7th grade and now I'm a junior in college - that's crazy!! I really hope to see you continue for a long time : )
glass reflection please review carnival phantasm
Congrats on your 200th review! Love that you decided to review a series that also has 200 episodes. Love Sailor Moon!
Attempt number 7 !, please review rurouni kenshin :D
I still remember first watching your steins;gate review, I've been looking forward to your reviews ever since.
sailor moon was my first anime too. small world
danielpogreb Same here
perhaps we should start a club. on a side note, the first time I saw sailor moon it was on a forin channel and in a langwitch I didn't understand. still it got to me and I couldn't stop watching
Cons: Its cliched
its repetitive
reused animation
terrible pacing and tonz of fillers
pros:
FUCKINNOSTAGIA
Final verdict: certified frosty -_-
congrats on you 200th review. been a viewer and subscriber since your review of fruits basket. your content is a lot of fun. Keep up the good work Tristan :)
Your hair looks so cute, buddy. Good job
I might go back to watch it again
seeing your hair switched sides bothers me
Congrats on 200! The intro speech to this was great, here's to 200 more
The manga is 10000000000000 times better it's like the mega evolution of the anime
Can you why the SM manga is better?
My first anime that really grabbed me was Lupin the 3rd entirely because he carried a P-38 and I knew way more about guns than anime. That told me a lot about his character just by seeing what weapon he carried.
It's hard to say exactly what anime was the first one I saw. I remember watching Toonami when they first started showing Anime. So maybe then?
Congrats on 200 videos!
Cardcaptor Sakura next
congrats on your 200th review. I only started to follow your channel since last year and I really love all your videos. hoping for more great reviews to come :)
The first chinese cartoon i watched was Hamtaro
Well to answer the question my first anime was Digimon when I was 7 and it blew my freaking mind! I mean it was really cool but what got me was how it ended with a cliffhanger for the next episode. It was the first time that had ever happed when I was young and it hooked me. Which is good because I still think its one of the best anime ever. I never saw Sailor Moon growing up, but congrats on 200th review!
madoka magica and flip flappers are the true magical girl shows, anything else is blasphemy.
Ashiente Is flip flappers a magical girl show?
when i watched it it never really gave me that vibe
i think it fits as a unique aproach to the genre, anyawy my comment was a joke dont take it seriously
Ashiente it's fine, I was just curious because I has seen it called magical girl before and just wasn't sure if there was something I didn't get out of it
Ashiente Flip flappers has a shit op.
But the ED is awesome!
This was great! You're so right Sailor Moon is the most nostalgic anime ever. I just read an article called In Defense of Magical Girl anime and I really recommend reading it!! Also congrats on 8 years :)
