Started to install this on my sporsters and quickly returned it for a different company's kit. Had the clutch cable halfway in when the treads snapped in the casing, AFTER running a tap thru first
I always use the term puppy too, remember using it as far back as the 70’s in school. 🤙
I have an 04 sportster 883 custom which has a pretty high stock riser on it, would I need to go with a 10” bar?
The plug and play design is amazing but they didn’t think about when they are being fed thru the bars. Their burly bars have dimples for when being fed thru but once you hit the plug and play connectors to factory wires, they are too fat to fit thru the dimples. I’ve had to widen the dimples on both sides to allow the wires to fit. Just a fyi for anybody looking to do burly brand
got mine the other day wired up all of the wires went to run them in the bars i ordered . wit the plugs on wont fit thru the holes on the bar..wish i knew that before hand, spent 3 days cutting soldering heat shrinking...still not right
What should I do guys? Just put on my extension cable kit started with clutch cable it broke off at the threads in the housing
ok got everything working..front brakes wont hold..ive bled them no more air in the lines...any ideas
does it matter what size front wheel you have?
Puttin 10" Apes on my 2013 Wide Glide, do you have 10" extension kits, or will I need to go with the 12" kit?
Do you guys have wire extension kit for XG500?
Does this kit fits non abs sportster ? 2012 48 to be precise...
Thanks.
Wish there was a I'm telling video of this.
What sizes do these kits come in?
If I buy 10 inch mini apes for my 2009 Nightster that has stock bars do I purchase a 10 inch cable wire kit?
Im not 100% but if i was putting 10 in bars on my 09 nightster i would only having to extended the brake cable.
Does the 12" ape pack for an 883 iron with abs have the tee junction box included
Burly Cable Kits for Sportsters are only available in a non-ABS option. The ABS kits are only for Dyna, Softail, and Touring models. Instead, consider the LA Choppers kit for ABS Sportsters, which includes the ABS tri-brake line kit with fittings. -DrewZilla

I have a 2018 iron 883 and I want to put the stock mini apes (8.75) from the 1200 on it. Do I really need to do a cable swap ?
Yeah, you can really only go about an inch taller or shorter in height from stock before you have to swap cables and wires. I believe the stock bar rise is 4.5", so 8.75" mini apes from the 1200 are more than that one inch difference. -DrewZilla
I can't find a single video on the brake line instal. This isn't making sense. I connected the lines to caliper and lever. Then connected other ends to the block. But that doesn't connect the lines because of these dumb holes in the block. Am I missing parts??
Why do you need to extend the turn signals themselves? 1999 sportster. I'm not mounting the signals on my bars what's the point
I want to install a 14" ape hangers on my 2016 Forty Eight. The bike has the ABS system, wich kit I need to install that bars?
Currently, your only option is the kit from LA Choppers, which I've linked below. -DrewZilla

would I start at the grips to run everything
+TheBubbles069 You can start from either end. -DrewZilla
I have 8" Biltwell Frisco bars for a sporty 883 2002 which has a 6" stock rise would the 12" kit give me too much slack?
Yes, the cables would be just a bit too long. Instead, I'd recommend the LA Choppers Cable Kit in the _Mini Apes_ size. -DrewZilla

Would their kit for Clubman bars also fit their zero rise drag bars? They don't seem to offer a drag bar cable kit.
Clubman bar cables are likely too short for even zero rise drag bars. -DrewZilla
I've read from your sites reviews that they run longer than its indicated length. About 4 inch too long. Can i use a 12" kit on a 14" bars?
I just dont want extra cables sticking too far out.
Thanks.
We find the kits to have an appropriate amount of slack to accommodate suspension travel and steering from lock to lock. However, you may be able to get away with using the 12" kit on 14" bars. We just can't guarantee it. -DrewZilla
Did you do this? Any update?
how do i change out the brake line on the 2019 sportsters.. its hardlined to a block, cant just diconect it.. does this kit include EVERYTHING needed parts wise..?
It sounds like you have ABS, so if you do have ABS, this kit is not available for your bike unfortunately. Instead, you would need the LA Choppers kit. -DrewZilla

I bought 12” bars... do I buy 12” inch extension? Or do I factor in the 4” riser?
Extension kits assume a two inch riser, since a two inch riser is generally the go-to height for use with apes. If you keep the 4 inch risers, then you'd need 14" extension. If you go to two inch risers, then you'd go with 12" extensions. -DrewZilla
I have a 2014 FXDL. Will the Street Bob kit work on my model?
The FXDB kit will not work as it only accommodates for a single disc front brake, whereas your FXDL has a dual disc set-up. -TeamZilla Chris
I’m installing 12 inch hurricane handlebars from Prism with 2 inch risers on 07 Sportster. Should I buy 12 inch ape hangers wiring kit or t bar ?
You would definitely want the standard ape hanger kit.
-Zack
Hello, I have a Kawasaki VN 800 Classic 1998 and a 16 '' Ape Hanger, this set is for my own motorcycle?
No, this kit is only for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. We do not have any kits for Kawasaki currently. -DrewZilla
one more question...the wires on the kit do they match the colors on the bike
+TheBubbles069 Yes, the wiring matches up. -DrewZilla
putting a set of 10 " t bars on my softail slim I can't seem to find a cable kit for this do you have one ?
No, we do not have a specific fit cable kit for putting T-bars on your Softail Slim. I apologize for the inconvenience. -DrewZilla
Will I need this kit for 12in bars on a 2009 FXDC? They are 12in lucky daves san diego bars.
Do you know of a cable kit that will work for a 2009 Fatbob? For 14inch bars.
Thanks
With your dual front disc setup, we don't have a kit. However, we recommend reaching out to Magnum Shielding to get new lines. You can then also purchase a new clutch cable for the exact length you need. -DrewZilla
So with my 2 inch risers and 16 inch bars the 16 inch cable kit should be fine?
Correct, the kit assumes a 2 inch riser. -DrewZilla
I want to buy these but the website says they will not fit my 1992 sportster. What would be the reason they won't fit?
This cable kit is designed based on the handlebar/riser specifications from 1997 and later model Sportsters. For your bike, we recommend reaching out to Magnum Shielding. -DrewZilla
Would the 16" kit work for my 14" ape hangers with 4" risers For my 00 sportster ???
Yes, since kits are based on 2" risers, you can use the 16" kit to compensate for the taller risers. -DrewZilla
Better get your clutch cable from another company there are shit
I have a 14 inch tbar going from stock on an 04 dyna im not sure if I would need 14 inch wires or 12 because it eliminates the riser can someone help?
did this work out for you? I have 12inch t bass and I'm wondering the same thing
@@heywardcart4662 I went with a 14 inch kit but am having trouble with the clutch cable even loosened up I can't get it to install properly and I have no clutch I'm stuck not sure what I did wrong smh
I do know there isn't normally a quick response times to our questions on here, but could someone that knows the answer please respond asap, please?? Thank You!!
is there a 1 beard kit?
The 1 beard kit would be to keep your stock bars. Installing longer cables to fit taller bars just requires more work. -DrewZilla
Not a bad kit but!!! I just had to return one because the brake line cluster was backwards the metal bend line was wrong. And the clutch cable would not screw into the trans cover, very aggravating when I have a customer waiting.
If I get a 12 inch Burly Narrow Apehangers, do I get a 12 inch or 14 inch wire kit?
That depends on your riser height. Most kits are based on 2" risers with ape-style bars unless otherwise noted. If you have 2" risers and 12" apes, then you'd get the 12" kit. -DrewZilla
RevZilla Its for a stock 2017 Iron 883. Would you suggest 12inch or 14 inch kit?
You'd probably want the 12 inch kit. -DrewZilla
I can't find any information on cable extension kits for a 1993 sportster. All the Burly kits say they aren't compatible. Why would that be? Any recommendations for kits that will work with my bike? Totally new to motorcycles.
We do not have any cable kits for your bike but I would suggest reaching out to the folks over at www.magnumshielding.com. They can get you set up with all you need!
-Zack
Thanks so much! Just curious, since I’m new to bikes; what makes it incompatible? Is it the electrical, would I need new hand controls?
The cable lengths and wiring connections will be different, just essentially a different bike as the Sportster has had a few different generations with notable changes between.
-Zack
I can take a part an engine and rebuild it in an 2 hours, but I know fuck-all about wires.
Dont buy this kit for your sportster unless you buy a clutch cable from any other company they make there,s to break when you install its a design flaw
sportster davidson : Hey brother, I just ordered a 14” Burly kit for my wife glide. So what’s the issue with the clutch cable specifically? I sure don’t want to have to buy another clutch cable if I don’t have to...
