Hope is now living on her own in the rehab cage at Big Cat Rescue, the domestic cats have moved on (all of them have found homes with Big cat Rescue volunteers!) Thanks for watching
I enjoyed watching and thank BCR for all the hard work - for all the big-o cats. Seeing Momma and her 'real' babies looking in from outside the crate is really cute. They might be thinking they could do a better job than that silly Bobcat! Funny too when Hope was sucking on the meat, or 'nursing' it, and watching her play with the dead bird. Oh, by the way, make sure the bottle is held up to fill the nipple completely with milk. Otherwise, the baby gets gassy from the air in it's tummy.
@serbmafioso3 Unfortunately they are legal to own in many states, however we would highly recommend not to own these WILD species of cats. They never lose their wild instincts, they pee on everything to mark their territory, they are expensive to feed, require specialist vet care and if you want to go on vacation what do you do with your bobcat???
It's good that you guys take care of these animals with a view to reintroducing them to the wild...bobcats are an important part of the ecosystem, no matter how cute they are as babies!
Resurgencenc, THANK YOU for your comment. We cannot do what we do for the animals without the support of animal loving people like yourself. THANK YOU!! Please stop by our main website and on the left visit the FREE STUFF link and treat yourself to some free screensavers, wallpapers and more. You can even send some free eCards.
IronChopsticks, again I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine the sadnedd your family experiences over that tragedy. However, may humans have done terrible things, but that does not mean you should be held accountable for their actions, does it?
@katievet123 That was a prepared carnivore diet we purchase which is a mixture of ground meat/organs with added nutrients and minerals, we then mixed in some milk to make the transition easier for her :)
Awesome love watching Hope grow and learn. This vid is a good montage that shows a lot of the qualities that make cats special: Hope playing with the chick with Indy and Maxwell trying to get in on the fun shows the felines inquisitive nature. Momma in the background grooming after(presumably)a meal show just how important cleanliness is to the felines. Great little vid. I cant wait to see what she does with the chick..you know how to keep us coming back dont ya BCR?? LOL. Keep up the good work!
SpeakDino10, bobcats stay cute little babies for only a very short short time. When they grow up, which is very quickly, they do not back good pets at all.
DogsAreBetter, the others are domestic cats and would be getting a diet the vet assigns to them which of course would be different than little Hope's since she is not a domestic. I will ask the Animal Guy, Scott.
We get the chicks already frozen, so Hope didn't kill it. One day she will have to be able to kill her food, but that is a while off yet. It is a harsh fact of life that we have a lot of trouble dealing with in rehab work.
Nomdecodenikita, THANK YOU for sharing this comment. It is true as they grow up they become what they are, wild carnivores and not cute little house kitties.
Folks, if you agree with Bigcatrescue's nonprofit services to the animal kingdom, please do visit their site and donate (you can do so via paypal). I'm not affiliated with them in any way, but i feel that we need to support organizations like these (as well as humanitarian ones of course) as often as possible.
ivy72396, we buy all the whole prey direct from a supplier, it comes ready frozen and ready to feed out, we also use dead chicks for handing out medications to some of our cats, they're perfect for slipping a pill into and the cat will normally eat the whole chick, job done!
Yep, I'm sure all cats have the instinct to hunt however having the instinct and actually being able to hunt and kill your dinner are two separate things. We had to be sure Hope had these skills and was good at it before we released her back into thew wild :)
Shilack2, We cannot participate in any abuse here. We just cannot do that. We will do our best though as this youngster grows up to make sure it does not look to humans for comfort and food. We will o our best to make sure it can grow up wild and be rreturned to the wild capable of living wild and free.
They would have gotten it the same way they get all their food - from a farmer, already dead. It looks like they chopped open it's belly a little so the bobcat could smell the meat inside.
DogsAreBetter, I have your answer from Scott, The Animal Guy: "..no the mamma cat and kittens don't get any raw food, just normal domestic feline diet."
That is so cute. She does not look much bigger than a regular kitten. It is so amazing when mother cats take in abandoned babies. Are there ever cases where the baby does not learn to eat its prey and wants only to be bowl fed?
IronChopSticks, I am saddened to hear of your loss. That is sad sad sad. Unfortunately, when humans enter a wilderness area which is the wild animal's habitat wild animals will be just what they are wild animals. While in the woods parents need to keep little children at their sides at all times. While I understand your frustrations, little Hope was not the cat from your youth and should not be held accountable for it.
Oh my gosh this is amazing, I guess in the later videos they separate from her adopted siblings. It's so sad that they'll lose their younger but much bigger sibling. Very cute though, sort of sad that mom can't be around to give her that raw wild training.
O MY God that was not pleasant to see the way he was playing with that poor chick . just wondering how did you kill that poor thing ? OK I know it's needed for Hope to lean how to .... Just wanted to know how did you kill the chicken ? man ....
im just wondering.. would it be okay for the regular cats to eat the same raw meat that Hope gets? bcuz i think that would taste better than regular cat food they eat.
I was wondering why she was sequestered from Mom cat and the other kittens. Is this to train her in order to "catch her prey" on her own"? Is she still nursing from Mom cat? Or is she old enough to eat solid meat from now on?
Bobcats do not make good pets. We are not wanting this baby to grow up to be a pet. Our hopes is that it will remain wild and not imprint on humans so that it can one day be returned to the wild.
Bilpayne: Its nice to hear that you did that. Thats why its so important for all of us to never buy fur, and to spred the word to every one we know to not buy fur and support the fur trade.
Were the baby chicks that were given to Hope humanely killed? Granted, I know they kill prey in the wild, I'd hope that the baby chicks weren't destroyed cruelly.
there are a lot of people on youtube and very very few know what they are doing around a computer: you MUST make your video files smaller!! Doesn't do any good to watch a little white circle revolve in a black field. Most people's files are TOO BIG TO LOAD!
the question is...Will it blend? NNONO JKKJJKJKJKJK srsly that was relaly mean but still..but my real comment is im gonna kitten-nap that thing and paint it white and name it mittens!!
oh i can't look dead baby chick!!!!! :((((( That just made my sick. I liked first 2 minutes ( well until 1:55 ) minutes!!!!! I care for my cat and chicks like you can see in my videos. You should of given the cat dead mouse!!!!!
no offence considering thats your job but.. you have been hand feeding it for how long and holding it and no dought playing with it... its a safe bet that it has imprinted on humans
I think you should slap it every now and then so that its afraid of humans. It is a nice thing you are doing though, best of luck to Hop...she is adorable
10 years ago, my little brother (age 4) was killed by a bobcat while we were hiking in a state park. I've wished many times that I could meet that bobcat when it was a baby so I could kill it. You have this opportunity. Kill that bobcat before it kills someone you love.
Denmark Rupee there are so many humans on this planet, who cares if one human dies? Bobcats are endangered in places and you may kill you own pets and you are a animal killer and abuser!
Hope is now living on her own in the rehab cage at Big Cat Rescue, the domestic cats have moved on (all of them have found homes with Big cat Rescue volunteers!)
Thanks for watching
Oh I pray for little Hope! I am so glad you guys are helping her! Thank you!

We taught her to hunt using a tube system and live prey (rats) so they would come out the tubes in different areas.
Just wonderful, you all are so great. Makes me what to move there and work there!
It's good that you guys take care of these animals with a view to reintroducing them to the wild...bobcats are an important part of the ecosystem, no matter how cute they are as babies!
RighteousBigot, they will avoid humans if at all possible. THANK YOU for sharing your comment!!

Lynxaid, if you go back through our previous videos you will see a video of the introduction of Hope to her adoptive cat family.
Aww... Kitties of all kinds are cute.
@katievet123 That was a prepared carnivore diet we purchase which is a mixture of ground meat/organs with added nutrients and minerals, we then mixed in some milk to make the transition easier for her :)
Wheeler1, the staff will certainly make sure the adopted momma and adopted siblings are never in danger.
Ahhhh....look at the cute lil piggy!! I love bobcats.
the mother cat looks like mine. Hope is just an adorable little angel! shes gonna grow up real tough and strong
Leahwages, there are 10 episodes in all so far, with more to come soon.
7Harlequin7, I'll send the film guys a request. They will do updates as regularly as possible. So 6 should be coming soon.
@JuhiSRK Yes, we make sure of this :)
I'm curious, do you feed whole prey to the domestic cats as well? Thanks for sharing, I love this video
@SilentKhayos No they just get regular domestic cat food :)
qwert productions, we have sponsorship packets available on our website for all the different species we have at Big Cat Rescue! Thanks for watching!
Lol I love how the baby bobcat just plays with chic.

@Blondieningirl89 We haven't had that problem with bobcats we have rehabbed they have always been ready to hunt!
Hope is growing up so fast, she'll be a big kitty in no time at this rate.
DogsAreBetter, the others are domestic cats and would be getting a diet the vet assigns to them which of course would be different than little Hope's since she is not a domestic. I will ask the Animal Guy, Scott.

the house kittens look so jealous. i doubt they would eat the chick, they'd probably just play, too.
you guys are doing an awesome job
Dadorean, we do not cuddle it or play with it. It is handled only enough to meet her needs.
ivy72396, we buy all the whole prey direct from a supplier, it comes ready frozen and ready to feed out, we also use dead chicks for handing out medications to some of our cats, they're perfect for slipping a pill into and the cat will normally eat the whole chick, job done!
All the money we raise is used to care for the 130 big cats that live at the sanctuary, I'm sure Hope would deem this OK :)
Yep, I'm sure all cats have the instinct to hunt however having the instinct and actually being able to hunt and kill your dinner are two separate things. We had to be sure Hope had these skills and was good at it before we released her back into thew wild :)
Little sibling saying give me a chance at that little snack. 😺 Please ❤

@YesukaB We purchase them in frozen bulk quantities.
@kcatromero No, these cats are designed to consume the whole thing.
LOL. I see the other cats are gathering around the cage trying to get at the chick. Do they get raw food too?
Tommy2008, If you haven't done it yet, get a subscription to our channel and you won't miss any of the regular updates.
i've always had a problem with those chicks, especially those marshmellow ones around easter!! good job lil' bobcat!!
Aoema, no we don't kill anything. They come shipped to us already passed away and frozen.
pretty cool piano solo that was being played while the bobcat was trying to tear the baby chick to shreds
My kitty kimba.... got taken when I was 5. We found it in a sewer and it was always sick. I hate being allergic their so sweet!
That is so cute. She does not look much bigger than a regular kitten. It is so amazing when mother cats take in abandoned babies. Are there ever cases where the baby does not learn to eat its prey and wants only to be bowl fed?
Are you going to release her at some future time? How are you going to teach her to hunt?
IronChopSticks, I am saddened to hear of your loss. That is sad sad sad. That tuxedo cat says, "Can't I have some?" Hope. "Nope. This is my toy."
Sylvester has finally caught Tweety...:(
iLuvSPH, blend?
I agree completely. At first I was upset by that fact of life until I saw her "siblings" express interest in the prey!
7Harlequin7, Since I am not the one who orders the food for the cats, I don't know. I'll have to ask someone in that department.
Garfeild14, I am sending you a message with the link. THANK YOU so much for helping support this work.
did u guys kill the chick or did it die by itself? just curious.
Thats so cute!!
Oh my gosh this is amazing, I guess in the later videos they separate from her adopted siblings. It's so sad that they'll lose their younger but much bigger sibling. Very cute though, sort of sad that mom can't be around to give her that raw wild training.
I just have to ask, how did you come across the dead chick for Hope?
BondCat7, these updates are current hapenings.
she is cute...hope that it goes well...best of luck.
O MY God that was not pleasant to see the way he was playing with that poor chick . just wondering how did you kill that poor thing ? OK I know it's needed for Hope to lean how to ....

Can you adopt a bobcat from bigcatRescue?
lol @ the other cats trying to get at the chick at the same time
Bilpayne: Its nice to hear that you did that. Thats why its so important for all of us to never buy fur, and to spred the word to every one we know to not buy fur and support the fur trade.
I watched all 5 episodes of Baby Bobcat.
Is there an episode 6? Was Baby Hope let lose?
WHAT HAPPENED??
that is just too cute.
TexasGirly1979, I'll pass the comment on.
She is soo cute! The dead chick is a little gross but its funny how she plays with it. hehe
ChicagoGypsyChanel, you wouldn't for long. She will soon be older, wilder and would NOT be a safe or fun pet.
BeNGALi4LFE, a raw diet is better for cats, but has to be the whole rat, whole bird, etc. and not just the cuts of meat you find at the grocery store.
Were the baby chicks that were given to Hope humanely killed? Granted, I know they kill prey in the wild, I'd hope that the baby chicks weren't destroyed cruelly.
chick got owned... nice assist by the humans lol
lol, the cats outside want to get in
Isnt playing with a dead body a crime? or does that only apply for humans? lol
i wanna see what happens next time
I dont think she killed it her self dude......they prolly get shipments of this stuff.
3:14 must see!
there are a lot of people on youtube and very very few know what they are doing around a computer: you MUST make your video files smaller!! Doesn't do any good to watch a little white circle revolve in a black field. Most people's files are TOO BIG TO LOAD!
I know thats waht I meant......just not frozen
sooo cute how it mutilates that carcass.
the question is...Will it blend? NNONO JKKJJKJKJKJK srsly that was relaly mean but still..but my real comment is im gonna kitten-nap that thing and paint it white and name it mittens!!

i luv the whole gay music thign u got gonin on
I think you should slap it every now and then so that its afraid of humans. It is a nice thing you are doing though, best of luck to Hop...she is adorable
I don't think that you should do that with the chicken....
If the cat it is staying at home, you should just feed him normal...as a domestic animal
