@@KMR13well, it's not anymore
That's good advice for anything that looks like a rex's cousin

If anyone is wondering, this exact trap is working perfectly for gigas too and it's probably the cheapest trap you can make, amazing video btw, short and straight to the point, you earned a sub
Thank you my friend! Appreciate the support!
I find the pillar technique is the best. And it’s much cheaper than this
@@Nutz2002actually it honestly better if possible to go to a river in the redwoods and kill a ton of small creatures quickly
The ceapest giga trap is with metal billboards
@@tijsvandenberg7738about how many do you have to use? You can use 14 metal pillars for a reusable trap but I've never seen anyone use billboards for a giga
“The caryckajshcjic8” got me rolling on the floor
Haha it’s so hard to pronounce!
@@Nutz2002 yeah! Lol😂
That sounds like something Glitch would say.

Honestly that’s how most dinosaur names sound to me as a newbie.
When I first ran into one, I was completely terrified. I did not know they spawned on The Island lmao.
yeah lol, had the exact same feeling
wait, where?
@@joshuaallen285 theres 2 mountains left side of volcano, both of them spawn carchas often, today i saw 3 of them at the mountain at right top of the map
@@Jumbob thanks for the tip! qute far for me to go from my base, I like using the plateau.
@@joshuaallen2852 months late but they spawn anywhere gigas used to spawn. So mountains on the island, volcano island and redwoods on the Center, highlands in Rag, around the snow globe on extinction etc.
Um morals, this be ark homie. My morals died as soon as i spawned XD
Fucking raptors
You mean your morals died as soon as you did....which was shortly after you spawned.
@@mistere5857 pretty much XD
I leave the babys alone. Cant help it as Im a nature photographer irl 🤣
@btnhstillfire so your telling me you have morals? There are seven gigas coming to your area °-°
Something I learnt, you don't need to hold the food while it eats it for the bar to go up. If you wanna tame it without a trap, you just have to drag the food as close as you can to it then drop it and run when it starts sniffing. I don't recommend this this though because it constantly attacks other creatures and sometimes tricks you into thinking it's after the food you dropped but it's really just after another dino.
pro tip right here!
I actually don’t tame them with a trap and instead kill everything in the area and make a pen for my cryosick diplos and then kill a baby Rex and walk up in full ghille and hand feed it. I’ve never died doing it that way. It’s even easier if you have a sanguine elixir.
I dont think so. I tried this and it constantly ran after me or ignored me altogether leaving the dead dino on the ground.
no it doesn’t trick you it does a short roar and will run much faster if its actually aggroed while it will sniff and slowly walk over if it wants the corpse
Something I learnt is that the bigger isn’t necessarily better as if u have a army of dilos to dodos it can prove much more effective than one bronto
very true, although it might take longer!
@@Nutz2002actually it only takes about 8 swarms of bugs to tame
Ye and a army of gigas is better as ur damm dodos
@@pietmulli8321no, its numbers that count not big dino
@alejandronero4368 no because dinos attacks are AOE so if you throw 100 dilos at a Rex they all die in one hit. Rather certain dinos have an advantage for swarming. But this is not universal.
“Unless you have morals and don’t wanna sacrifice a baby”
*shows Mario 64 clip*
You can also use the baby rexes after you feed it, put out a bunch and unclaim them, then kill them with the Carch

I found a 135 one in Ragnarok and I was so excited. You have no idea about the terror I felt walking up to it with a dead Ovis on my shoulder and see it sniffing, then walking towards me.
I didn't manage to tame it, the taming percentage went down faster than I could gather corpses, and the corpses I started piling before feeding them to the Carcha weren't nearly enough before the entire plains was empty.
A sad day. I'll get my Carcha soon enough, I'll just have to find a breeding pair of rexes first :)
Do the traps work on them now, i remember on small tribes, i trapped one, but after it got trapped, the ai got messed up. It didnt want to sniff at all
i call it carchie AT THIS POINT LOL XD

Yeah right!
Yeah fr you said yeah right so it does work
The Giga still reign supreme
Hell no 😂😂 Tail swipe knockback, insane healing, double the damage of a Giga with stacks, can take out a wild Giga with a prim saddle and 0 mutations (as long as you have 100 stacks), can run fast, doesn't run out of stamina in 5 seconds. Also has healing reduction. Giga: Chomp chomp for a little more damage right off the bat 💀
@@nikolajkvistpedersen5151 but in a one on one i'm not finna let u do all that and even when u got all your stack not that much dmg than a giga still king
@@GreatApemaniac with 100 stacks it's doubble the damage then that of a Giga. Might just tail swipe you off a cliff or almost instant rage you. If you got a lot of Melee mutations on Giga vs just an imprintet carcha, then the giga wins obv. The Giga ONLY ever wins if the Carcha doesn't have stacks and even then, the Carcha might be able to rage it anyway.
@@nikolajkvistpedersen5151 for one who said a giga was gon be near a cliff and i'm gon run up on yo ass before u can even get two stacks and u not gon rage a giga as easy as u think
@@GreatApemaniac You rage before you reach 0 hp, i wont rage at all. If ur behind me, tailswipe, then turn around 🤣
Also worth mentioning that dinos like diplos are ideal as taking damage lowers taming effectiveness, a few hits wont do anything but after that you will start losing levels
Step 1: call it garcha and go on with your day
Go to the red wood it if full of small/medium sized things that fill up the bar fast or the swamp if there isnt a redwoods
Every time I’ve tamed one it works better without the gates ,because it’ll try to attack them instead of eat the Rex.
that's a fair point, sometimes losing their aggro will help fix that
When I'm riding the carcha to fill its taming meter I like using rare flowers honestly
i used 2 baby spinos and that was enough for it to trust me as well, rex, brontos and spinos, anything that weights a ton when adults works
"The strongest"
Giga at the corner:
Carch just gotta eat and they'll be set
If ypu do this on extinction near the snow dome you basically get it in one go as wolfs, daeos, mammoth, and manas give alot of percentage
It is way easier to tame without a trap because with one can be buggy at times in both games. Just use a Ghillie suit and feed the creature you’re using for step 1 directly.
Finally someone who doesn’t horribly mispronounce the name, thanks for the guide bro 🤟
About 14 metal pillars has entered the chat
The cakroducontosaurus got me still sitting on my chair watching
Charcarsjgjkss got me laughing and thank I didn’t know how to tame it and I didn’t want to search it up because I’m lazy af but I just scrolled past this
The information was good but the background Final Fantasy music is what pulled me in to stay lol
The Car car is only strongest Dino in ark when it’s eaten a shit ton of corpses.
"How to tame the charharkahha" i feel the struggle too man 😭✋
Heard a baby rex works best
yes they're the fastest for taming!
I always call it the char gar gothakon the beast that hathe no name 😂😂😂
Tamed 2 on Fjordur recently but somehow they both managed to get out of the trap while it being fully secured.
Lured the first one into a cliff then put a new trap on (which worked).
Lured the 2nd to my Basilisk trap thingy on the volcano and built behemoth gates so it cant get away
(Which also worked).
But the must bs thing about the tame is the smelling mechanic because i can wait however long and it wont eat the trikes and stegos, yo i have to drag new ones over to that place with my lightning wyvern and start all over again
If anything, and I mean anything, does any sort of damage to the Carch while you're running around eating stuff with it, you will lose taming effectiveness. It'd be a good idea to queue up a bunch of rex, trike, or galli eggs to hatch for that part of the taming process.
This trap method is literally the meta for years now lol.
Nothing new for me, but I liked for the editing, and the name of the dino
Step 1: find a carcharodontosaurus
ok this might be too late but here's how someone that has been one month in ark does it consistently, I use baby diplo or baby spino wich are easier to tame as rexes for a early carcha, traps bug them so they sometimes don't ear when trapped, solution is too go out of render and if your lucky enough he will bug out of the trap and ruin your trap, so they way I do it is way easier, us a ghillie suit drag the Dino to him when not on rage let him get the sniff animation once he is going towards you drop the body and he will eat it, make sure that when you ride it you have food and water, you don't want to die of starvation due to cold, remember you might die once you tame him so make sure you have a flier at your base too
while riding the dino in the taming process, keep in mind that it is better to go for quantity over quality or just something that wont attack back as getting hit while riding it will reduce your taming effectivenes
It's better to use stone gates because they are much cheaper and you can still easily get his trust before he destroys gates
I just call it Carchar. [Car-Char] even though it doesn't sound like what the dino's name is, its better then trying to pronounce the whole thing lol
Good tip if you can't say it's name then you can just say the carchar, like car-car
The new (Insert Mr. Krabs laughter)
Its even faster if you tame brontos and unclaim them and kill them
hmmm hadn't thought of this before! Although you would probably have to tame a low level bronto, or have taming speeds really high
Just to help anyone that gets the trap bug where it will either flee until freed or only attack the trap, if u just walk rlly far away and then drag it a dead rex baby and run for your life that works pretty much 100% of the time, at least for me tho the server I play on has higher taming rates
The fact people pronounce the CH sound in its name just makes me think Ark players aren't really dino nerds.
CarCHar is crazy bro
The penguin! We all did it hahahaha
I’ll try this the next time I find one but their AI always bugs out for me when they are caged and they don’t sniff or eat the bodies I drag to them
I have over 100 baby rex’s in my base 😂😂😂
This short worth a sub 😂😂😂
Don't forget, try to fight things that don't fight back as any damage it takes lowers the taming bonus
In other words, to tame this massive beast, ye gotta go on a massive kill and sacrifice spree, first time I’ve seen this kinda tame in Ark, as of late, it’s definitely something DIFFERENT, as opposed to the old; KO, drug up, and feed.
The last step, send our baby rexs and unclaim them so the charch can kill them. If you group them up its bassicly an instant tame
Better method.
Get a baby Rex, cryopod it, approach a Wild Carcharodontosaurus, sacrifice it to the Carcharodontosaurus in the name of the blood gods, Carcharodontosaurus eats the flesh of the innocent, trust meter instantly fills, have sanguine elixir from doing batty things with bat bois, ride around on the Carcharodontosaurus eating everything in sight, use sanguine elixir to speed it up, have spare baby Rex to sacrifice just in case. No traps or gates needed, no glitches where the Carcharodontosaurus refuses to eat in the trap.
There is a really good traps mod that I like to use. Very convenient and tidy.
Love the FF4 music such good memories
Honestly you don’t need a trap just strap on some gillie walk crouched with your baby red and it’s rideable. I also suggest bringing a sanguine potion so you can tame it on one ride.
Wait, that thing is fking massive.
When I saw people saying it could take on gigas, I thought they were memeing.
I hadn’t seen one in any gameplay so I thought it was about the size of maybe an allo or something, didn’t expect it to be bigger than a rex.
Well, Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus were distant relatives when they were alive, so that's why they are so large.
Wild how I see a new dino name and I know how to say it because I grew up on dinosaurs and then took two uni level paleo courses
You have to do it 5 times for a 150 tho. So your trap needs to be broken down and set back up, and you're going to clesr all the dinos near the trap on your first run
Finally someone doesn't know how to pronounce something so they searched it up
If I hatch a baby to be feed then I have no remorse, it served its purpose for the greater cause, better than it standing around uselessly or taking space in my cryofridges
Brother you ain’t catching me anywhere near a carch with prim flak I like living
Dont use traps as they get bugged and start attacking the trap nonstop
You don’t even have to trap it. Just bring it carcasses and tame it up.
A mad man like me didnt use a trap im just build different (well i feed it baby lightning wyvern 2 times and baby rex 1 time
Im using lightning wyvern the first lightning got eaten by my rock drake and the second one is eaten by carcha nice but it didnt full the friend meter so i use the baby rex and i can ride it yay!! And i did it only 5 minutes to tame it
It's not fool-proof, the Carcha can get aggro'd on the trap and refuse to eat the dino you're dragging. No trap and clear the area, so it can't aggro to anything 👍
It’ll glitch out and not want to eat bodies if you don’t leave a big enough gap between the gates
"The bigger the better" so.. size matters huh?
i take back what I said, average size is the best 😎😳
Always has, always will 😜
@@Nick-lg7su
Buggy mess? Have you ever thought that trapping is the bug? Never was meant to really happen the way it does
Dude I just did it in like the beginning of the game it was kinda easy
If Only You Can Pick Up Trikes, Recently You Havent Been Able To Pick Them Up For Some Odd Reason.
I call it a Carchamongol... drag 2 stegos to it
feed it 1 unconscious unclaimed rex with 50-50 points in health and even a 150 carch is insta tamed!
Tbh I use television armor for this I just kill any dino near me and feed it and then run for my life
This trap is good but most of the time it'll glitch out and just stare at me until I let it out the trap so I'm forced to not be able to trap tame them as this rarely works at least for me
yeah unfortunately that does happen sometimes, gotta love the buggy mess that is ark!
@@Nutz2002 lol
What is the recommended weight upgrade to carry dead dinos. I’m planing to tame Trikes and use them as food.
the dino's carry weight doesn't change the taming speed! The drag weight changes it. Each dino comes with its own drag weight, so a trike might be 150, where a rex is 175, the higher that number the faster it will tame. You can find more in depth info on the ark wiki!
i dont use a trap i just find a wild one and feed it 1 baby rex
fair enough!
If the the carcha kills a wild creature this means it will NOT eat any dragged food for 10 seconds after it killed the wild dino, it will try to kill you instead.
i did this on extinction and all that one wanted was argys and ankys
Bro the FBI is watching us
Do Ovis Work better to feed them well mutton it's better tame giga and other big Dinos
no unlike other dino's the carchar's taming rate is based on drag weight. So basically the bigger the dino is, the faster it will tame.
An even better, faster, and more efficient way to tame these amazing beasts-
1. Get 2 dinos with high drag weight, (spinos, rexes/tek rexes, etc)
2. Breed them
3. Bring the babies to where the carcha is
4. Kill the baby
5. Drag the baby to the carcha until it starts sniffing the air
6. Drop the body and run like hell, (but not too far away that you can't see the circle above the carcha)
7. If there's a green circle above it's head, hop on it, eat some rare flowers, and go eat stuff.
Nah, it's always lagging, bites walls and doesn't react to dinos bodies that i bring
I’ve wondered something. When you get on to kill things to tame it…. Can you maybe throw out a ton of babys and kill them instead of killing wild Dino’s?
It’s basically a weaker calmer giga
No because it gets to 100 bloodrage and knocks you off before it tames
What about brontosaurus babys do they take it as fast as the Rex?
Yes! It may be faster actually!
It's not by weight someone actually found out that it's determined by the health of a dino so get a gasbag or diplo and just feast
Be very careful with where you place that trap btw. Accidentally put one on a slight slope once and the giga was able to magically levitate its way right out of the trap using nothing but the tip of one claw and sheer force of will.
It did NOT end well. Lots of dead tribe mates and even more scattering into the forest to take their chances with the sabers and raptors.
The true power of Reaper Kings are a total of 1900 Melee ☝️ If he were allowed to breed with mutations 😤
Here's a full proof method to tame this dino:
The regular method we all have been using this whole time
1 dont make a trap 2 get a baby rex with the bad stats 3 kill 3 more baby rexes now you have 1
You can use a diplodocus for 1 feed as well instead of a rex
Best option is a dead rhino it takes one rhino to tame
Bro said karjajajajasa 💀
hahaha, its hard to say lol
Ya only if they spawn. Still gave not seen any at all.
check where giga's usually spawn. Places like the highlands on Ragnarok are really good
Top stat Giga is stronger than top stat Carcha unless you constantly have that rage and blood buff.
So the best way to tame this dino is to use its taming method? 🤔 fascinating.
