I like to PvP, and PvE. Usually wearing an Exo Suit nowadays. Unlocking it is easy with no cheats needed anymore, and usually on a server, official or unofficial, I'm not fussed. Single Player is great though, certainly with a guide for any platform be it xbox, ps4, ps5, pc, it's great. Sometimes play MTS, and usually post patch/update. But a survival game needs some community news and that's what I do, giving you the latest on events, small tribes, maybe even fast flyers and primitive plus, usually covering all maps from Island to Genesis Part 2. And one day. ARK 2!

Its crazy to think that this game is 8.5 years old. What an amazing game. Single handedly revived the survival genre, and re-defined what a good survival game should look like. It will stay one of a kind as Ark 2 seems it will be a very different game (hopefully in a good way).
I agree. For that reason many many people still love and play this game. It's very unique and there's something for everyone. I love the creatures, my brother makes amazing builds... anyone can really enjoy this game.
After 25k hrs put in pvp offcial. I finally woke up and realized ark sucks dick big time. Im Glad I'm 1 week clean and feeling healthier than ever.
@@queenkoi I'm a 50 something year old mother of four grown boys and I play lol with my sons, of course. But then I've been gaming since around 1997, with the launch of Ultima Online. Ark is an absolute blast imo.

You forgot to mention that when you are in a blood rage and you roar, the blood rage disappears but all allies in range gain a speed buff.

@@Raasclark You also forgot to mention the more creature Carchar killed, the higher the damage as well as health regeneration, it can be stacked up to 100. Additonally, killing a creature counts as 1 kill, however there's few exception of this, killing fishes (Coel, Salmon etc) won't count, killing Giga counts as 33 kills, killing other Carchar counts as 29 kills (if I remember correctly), killing Titanosaur counts as 93 kills

I don't see any practical use for it anyway, is it a very short speed buff in exchange for up to 100 stacks of boost? It's not profitable :/
Seems to be a bug with the carcha, when you roar your killing frenzy buff will not disappear, however the killing frenzy icon goes to 0. Might just be a problem on ps4.

@@Baha88 sure, first you cant drag dead rhinos without gcmmode, so the video is like allways in cheaty godmode, second the shreeding debuff doesent deal damage at all its a healing reduce debuff...so as allways just rushing out videos for the clicks while spreading fakeinformations...not even tried to inform himself or test it without stupid adminmode
Honestly the Carchar is even more fearsome than the Giga
Played around with it abit and it seems crazy in the wild, its basically guaranteed to have the buff when you encounter it, they are crazy fast and just like the Giga they are stronger in the wild
It’s less strong but I’d say more dangerous and aggressive to come across.
@@Dinoguy281 atleast it has a unique type of passive taming where you just walk up to it with a number of corpses until it sees you as a friend and then you climb up on its back and go on a murder spree with it
Looks pretty cool! Although, I don't look forward to the new levels of PTSD I'll have farming on mountains like when they first added the Giga.
Won't even bother on the island unless it only spawns there, giga locations there are a pain compared to ragnarok, crystal isles or even the center
A taming tip! You can use babies to tame once you are riding it. Rex and brachi/bronto babies Give very good %. However make sure you don't max the blood rage meter out or it will kick you off. Found out the hardway lol

Can't drag hardly anything in PVE. and it stops eating and just sniffs. I'm getting so frustrated. The friendship meter goes down so fast. I can only drag pteradons to it.

i LOVE ark! but i really hope that come the 2nd one they revamp the fighting animations for the creatures... the standing still while they take turns nibbling at their tails is kind of ridiculous now lol
I wont lie, when i spawned in Ragnarok by the highlands east i looked over and instantly saw a carcaradontosaurus like 50 feet away and i tried avoiding it but it charged at me. Those things are horrifying.
That was today but when i first found out they were in the game i didnt even know yet. I was on the island and my base was at the bottom of a mountain and when i took my argy up to check the top of the mountain i saw both a giga and a carcaradontosaurus walking right by eachother and it freaked me out! I thought the carcara was an apex or alpha giga or something at first

Fr not even gonna bother if its just on the island because giga spawns there are a pain, taming a normal giga there is annoying enough. Wont go through all this extra hassle to have reskinned giga with some cooler abilities but worse hp
@@damnsonwheredyoufindthis.3830 Found one on gen2 so thankfully it does seem to be sharing spawns with a giga. Legit taming one solo, especially a high level is going to be a pain, that thing while wild, hits like a truck, even lvl 30 like mine is
I think it spawns on every map but Scorched Earth and Aberration

I found out that icon on the screen with the Dinos face on it (next to the hot bar when riding) is a meter on how fast it heals and caps out at 100 allowing it to fully heal in just minutes and when you’re fighting something like a giganotosaurus that’s very good to have

Can you use your dead tames and do ovis have more affinity and do you need a saddle to ride it or is it just for armor and does it lose it's stats like the giga?

With that bloodrage boost Carcha is definitely going to be a new go to for OSD on Extinction.
Honestly I was hoping it would be more distinct from the giga, its cool and all but it seems redundant and more like a giga tlc. The rex and the yuty for example fulfil completly different roles despite nearly the same stats which I think is really cool, but the giga and carcar dont seem to have that dynamic which makes it feel uncreative and underwhelming for me. Its a shame too because the model is so sexy and its a cool dinosaur, I was hoping for something that was either stronger with more drawbacks, weaker with fewer drawbacks, or a different role in combat from a giga. The giga is literally described as getting stringer when it fights in the notes which just makes it feel like giga was stolen from more than anything.
I think they did a good job on the carchar. they have added enough things to make it different and not just a giga remodel. Aside from the model being way cooler, the carchar has a different taming method thats not just the generic knock out tame like a giga. the carchar also gives dinos speed boosts according to another comment i read, which can imitate the role of a yuty by buffing allies. you also have to remember that giganotosaurus and carcharadontosaurus belong to the same family and are very closely related, so ofc theyre “similar” but the carchar has enough to not make it “underwhelming.” i cant really think of much to add to the carchar without making it even more overpowered then it already is with the giga stats.
Maybe this is just what they need to put the giga on the next TLC pass??

@@marcelc469 I get your point, but in my eyes carcar is quite redundant. The yuty and rex are in the same family and are very different, same with the trike and pachyrhino. the differences between them are actually quite consistent with a tlc aswel which just makes it giga 2 . they do the same job all things considered.
I will agree that it looks sweet and the animations are smooth as butter, but in the end one IS going to be objectivly better than the other since they have the same skill set. One will inevitably be just the discount version of the other. Kinda like how the raptor is a discount deinonychus.
@@shatteredyoshi Honestly the carcar may aswel be it, if they updated the giga model they would look even more similar.
@@shatteredyoshi I think they're completely done with Ark 1 now, except for the remaining events. Its all hands on deck for Ark 2. There's likely a very small team of like only 10 or so still working on Ark 1.

Tamed two of these last night on Extinction. Both under level 20 but after breeding and fully imprinting it has become a killing machine! The damage boost from killing 100 creatures is crazy! Eats a ton of food though!

One thing I don't understand is what "roar" is for if it removes accumulated boost stacks. What benefit would it have?
Allies within range are given a speed buff when you roar and use up the stacks

Go to the highlands feed it a baby rex it fills the trust meter instantly then go to the redwoods high creature population groups of bugs are better then searching big dinos, After being tamed it gets nerfed from 70K hp to 17k
why does it have to spawn where gigas are ah
I think that dinos that are new and spawn on non story maps should also have dossiers but those dossiers will be found only on the corrosponding map, especially dinos with unique taming methods such ad dinopithecus or dinomacrops or maybe even the carch because the dossiers could maybe help explain the taming method as well as give tips on certain taming strategies such as whether it is better to trap it or not.
They usally spawn on the island but very rare more likely to see a giga instewd there often more soaned in snowy region on the story map the island it fits sort of
this creature is cracked for osds. especially in pve, where you cant damage the drop by yourself. get a forcefield and you will be sweeping through the rounds. just make sure to switch carchas throughout the waves because the food drains faster than they can regenerate. so just forcefeed it full to the brim and go to annother carch if there are no threats nearby
Impossible to tame on official pve servers. You can't drag large dinos. Everything else do anything to meter. It won't even aggro on you until it killed every dino, every doodoo around. I tried ovis and the meter goes down before it eats again. It does smell animations but won't eat. I gave up.

I still love the giga.its roar is so satisfying lol.but this beast is faster and more agile,so in terms of filling troughs in the hatchery,carcho is efficient. With the pros and cons I'd say both even out more or less.im not disapointed,I got two solid tames for meat runs now.just wish this carcha was clearly better or worse in a way I guess.tbh I kinda wanted this to be worse than the giga lol.idk,after all the years I'm just attached to em.and not totally sure where this carcha fits in yet.or how I feel about it really.awesome tame,don't get me wrong,I think if it's roar wasn't so pathetic I'd be all over it lol.
So when its mutated with melee it is the king because it will rage the giga and your fine?

Yea there is definitely a spawn bug atm I play on series x and gigs and carchars aren't spawning and even my friend on PC is having the same issue unfortunately ☠️
Carchardontosaurus is the winner against the giga when tamed and used properly

Shredded doesn't do bleed dmg (Least when I tested it), It reduces healing of the afflicted opponent

They are great for World Bosses, but that's about it since they are too big to fit into arenas
You can use it against titans or worldboss fjordur tho
