Hi, thank you. Knowing the UK guidelines will definiately help. It will be more improtant for Part 2 and PACES. Part 1 is less clinical, more science. It depends on your studying styles, I suggest doing the q banks first, then reading around the topics you are unfamiliar with.

Thank you so much for your highly useful videos. I will be sitting for my MRCP part 1 on 15 September 2020. This will be my 3rd attempt and i so much want to ensure that I pass. My last 2 attempts were in 2018 and 2019. I realise that I will need to be more disciplined in my planning and adhering to the plan. I will be using the Pastest Q bank for my preparations. I note that there are ~5460 questions (by specialty) and in addition there are past year questions from 2015 to 2019. It will be v challenging for me to complete all questions before the exams as i am working full time. As I will need to prioritise, do you have any tips for me?

Hi, I would suggest doing passtest first so you know what type of questions will be on the exam. Then, if you feel like you are weak in certain topics- use the books.

If you are planning to take MRCP, you don't need to take PLAB. You can use MRCP to obtain GMC registration and work in the UK. Hi, if you are already a gynaecologist, it would be best to do MRCOG. If you do MRCOG, you do not need to do PLAB. You can register with the GMC and work here using MRCOG.
Hi, the easiest way to work in UK is by doing PLAB. You will need to have PLAB to register with the GMC. There might be other routes. Do check with the GMC.

There are 3 diets for each exam, usually around January, March and September. You'll have to setup the MRCP account on the official website and the booking slots open about a month and half prior to the exams Hope it helps

@@amari8172 Do you want to work in Australia or UK. In the UK, if you are a newly qualified doctor, it is best to do PLAB. MRCP is a harder exam, taken 1-2 years after MBBS. MRCP is also only for the medical specialties like cardiology, respiratory, gastroenterology. If you want to pursue other specialties like surgery, paediatrics etc, you do not need MRCP. PLAB will be enough.

There are other exams if you are a dermatology trainee in UK. But I am not sure how useful it is if you are not working in UK. There are dermatology masters/phd that should be good to enhance your cv.

Yes, if you can completed MRCP, you can use that to register with the GMC. After GMC registration apply for a non-training job in UK. After 6-12 months, apply for specialty training in your desired specialty. Most IMGs apply for a non-training post for 6-12 months before entering specialty training. This will give you NHS experience before entering a training programme.
Will they give stifend in non training job for that 6 to 12 months or else we have to be paid for that ???? How many days will it take for speciality programme for neurology can u please explain

Pathway to neurology- To become a consultant neurologist in UK- After FY2 (1 year), apply for internal medicine training (IMT) (3 years). During IMT, take MRCP. After IMT and MRCP, apply for higher specialty training in neurology (4 years). After that, you will be a neurology consultant and awarded a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).

@@drsaipavanmd5446 You don't need MRCP to enter paediatrics. Just complete FY2, then you can apply for paediatric specialty training. After entering paediatric specialty training, you need to sit for MRCPCH. MRCP is only for the medical specialties like resp, cardio, derm, gastro, renal etc.

If you have time, you can do another question bank. Or another option is to re-do pastest again. You can use passmedicine or onexamination q banks.

You need one year clinical experience before applying for the PART 1. After that, you do the part 2 and PACES at your own time.

What specialty do you want to pursue in the UK? Clinical radiology?MRCP is suitable for senior doctors who wants to pursue the higher medical specialties like gastroenterology, dermatology, cardiology, neurology, renal medicine, respiratory etc. MRCP is not needed for other specialties like surgery, paediatrics, psychiatry, general practice, radiology etc.

If you are planning to take MRCP, you don't need to take PLAB. You can use MRCP to obtain GMC registration and work in the UK. No, but you need to re sit the exam. Most doctors, just take up a non-training post in the meantime.

Hi, if you are already a gynaecologist, it would be best to do MRCOG. If you do MRCOG, you do not need to do PLAB. You can register with the GMC and work here using MRCOG.

Hi, the easiest way to work in UK is by doing PLAB. You will need to have PLAB to register with the GMC. There might be other routes. Do check with the GMC.

There are 3 diets for each exam, usually around January, March and September.
You'll have to setup the MRCP account on the official website and the booking slots open about a month and half prior to the exams

@@amari8172 Do you want to work in Australia or UK. In the UK, if you are a newly qualified doctor, it is best to do PLAB. MRCP is a harder exam, taken 1-2 years after MBBS. MRCP is also only for the medical specialties like cardiology, respiratory, gastroenterology. If you want to pursue other specialties like surgery, paediatrics etc, you do not need MRCP. PLAB will be enough.
The only hurdle in doing plab is i have heard in uk salaries r not enough

Yes, if you can completed MRCP, you can use that to register with the GMC. After GMC registration apply for a non-training job in UK. After 6-12 months, apply for specialty training in your desired specialty. Most IMGs apply for a non-training post for 6-12 months before entering specialty training. This will give you NHS experience before entering a training programme.

@@saivenkat4282 All jobs in UK- training and non-training jobs are paid. You will receive a monthly salary. There is no fees for training.
Pathway to neurology-
To become a consultant neurologist in UK- After FY2 (1 year), apply for internal medicine training (IMT) (3 years). During IMT, take MRCP. After IMT and MRCP, apply for higher specialty training in neurology (4 years). After that, you will be a neurology consultant and awarded a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
