SGB is a paper currency which is Not backed by Gold but ETF is backed by Gold, a relatively safer investment(also no gst) but SGB comes with GST. Also govt have removed capital gains tax, which makes ETF attractive compared with SGB. 2. I can open the demat account in my mother name(Housewife income = 0) and invest the gold right, so that it will be beneficial.( As the taxes are related to income, not with the capital gains after April 1, 2023) 3. Also I just wanna know, it's TDS or we have to disclose to the govt while filling the tax? 4. Is there anyway we can convert the ETF to physical gold?

What about IAUM? I've heard it's a close second.
IAUM is great, but GLD's liquidity can't be beat

The expense ratio is there for the ETF. Please correct that. It's included in the market price and gets adjusted at EOD.
