We dive into 3 more emails Donna sent Wendi over the course of Wendi and Dan’s court battles. Unhinged is putting it mildly.

I have heard these emails a few times now, and they are more appalling and disgusting to me each time I hear them. The amount of manipulation, deceit, and pure evil that comes off the page is completely disturbing. Donna seems to be completely unhinged, and has control issues that are off the charts. It’s frightening.
I agree with you, Gigi! It sounds like Wendi was rejecting her mother’s suggestions. The tone of this email was so pushy!

It’s like Donna lived vicariously through Charlie’s party boy, “stud” lifestyle and had zero personal accountability. I’m sure his son’s mother isn’t the right genetic makeup to suit Donna’s needs (like Robert’s wife) 🙄🙄🙄
Donna sounds like THE Master Manipulator in that family. The more I hear about her, the more I really feel so bad for Dan. He didn't stand a chance against this evil woman. 😢

Okay, donna is a nightmare! Imagine receiving and then having to respond to that novel. While I'm sure that it took less than a minute for Wendy to figure it out, I don't think Donna or Charlie would have trusted Wendy with any part of this plan. They both clearly believed she was too dumb to be trusted with any part of her life, much less a murder.
And being told that you won't have to feel guilty if you did this, did "all you could". Otherwise, chew on The Guilt you feel.
So, I'm guessing Donna's plan was all about Wendi and the kids living in Miami and Dan didn't want to move far from his job?
I wonder if Donna will ever learn that her court room antics won't look good to the jury.
@@stephenschemm2584 They lived down in southern Florida previously, but Dan got a job in Tallahassee and promised they would leave after .. I forget what exactly or how long. But Wendi didn't like it there and they divorced and all that, so she wanted to move back home but Dan wouldn't let the kids go

Wow! This woman is a CONTROL FREAK so much so that I almost started to feel a bit sorry for Wendi. 😮. Imagine having a mother like that trying to control everything you do even as an adult with your own kids. These emails are a real insight into how things went down in this family. Also the pure hate in Donna’s heart for Dan and his family was mind blowing. Great job Gigi thank you. ❤

Wendi's playing her own family like a fiddle... she keeps them amped up with her drama to the point she gets them to organize a hit on Dan, then she can hang back and pretend she had nothing to do with it.
Remember she was brought up in a home of a rich family being the only girl... Wendy was no doubt treated like a little princess her whole life,... So did she learn to manipulate her family for her needs, yes. But even her mother in the email states that Wendy doesn't have a manipulative bone in her body that she's a sweet and kind girl..... So no Wendy didn't manipulate this whole scenario, not on purpose anyhow.
Talk about Donna putting a guilt trip on her daughter Wendi!!

These emails are shocking! This proves Donna's evilness. The pressure is unreal.
This woman needs to be put away.

She needs to be put away without telephone, paper, envelopes and stamps, no electronics.
She needs to enter a guilty plea and confess to being the organizer and influencer over Charlie and Wendi.

Donna is a scary person. She totally disregards, that children need both their parents (that is ,of course, if they are good and loving parents).
Dan Markels boys now have to live with not only the tragical loss of their beloved dad, but also the knowledge of who conspired to kill him.

Donna is nuts man. Asking if the lawyer cared about the financial burden of not living by her parents? Or if the lawyer didn’t care that finances would be a struggle? No Donna, bc Dan was part of it too and it’s about the boys and their best interests. Wendi made the choice to marry Danny and then they were getting divorced with 2 kids, everyone is going to lose in the situation but that’s what happens!
Those boys would be better off with the name Markel rather than their murderous uncle and potentially their maternal grandmother. Shame on Wendi for removing their given names and the court for allowing it. I’m sure she had attorneys and judge in her friend circle.

@@9babyblu oh, no I truly appreciate it. I worked labor and delivery for many years but I was so focused on Charlie and Donna I wasn’t thinking. I know a lot of people are just now exploring this case and you are correct, facts are important!
You can NOT live in Coral Springs with $1500 monthly and a baby. That's very sad.
Even if Dan had allowed relocation, they would have found a way to kill him. They hated him that much.
Sad to say but Donna probably wanted nothing to do with Charlie’s son because he was “illegitimate” (not born out of a committed, marital relationship). Donna is all about perception…what looks high class…what the neighbors will think. People to her are disposable if they don’t meet her standards. I pray Charlie’s little son will be okay and quite frankly is better off without affiliation with the Adelson family.

@@justkiddin84 technically speaking that is true but culturally there is a VERY strong stigma against this. Wendi’s children are legitimate children from a married Jewish woman and the other grandchildren- there are a total of 3 of them I believe; 2 from Rob who are half Indian-American and 1 from Charlie and a then 24-year old woman to whom he was not married and who was also what is referred to as a “gentile” woman, were and are of absolutely no interest at all to Donna, as though they were never born.

And culturally speaking it would have been inappropriate to treat a Jewish woman with the disrespect he treated the women he did date. He likely would have felt more obligation to be a decent human being and he certainly did not want that.

Gigi, thank you for doing a series on this case. It is helpful to see the events in order, and you have presented a lot of information I have not heard before. This email from Donna makes me question the extent of Wendi's involvement. It shows she is not in the same head space her mother is, at least when the email was written. Maybe she changed her mind later.

I can see how Donna railroaded this whole deal and Charlie wanted to be the big guy and pull it off without any way for it to be proven. This is "Law and Order" material. Maybe Adelsons are fans and missed the episodes on how not to get caught, thinking Hollywood is real life. Whoops, it is only TV, as fake as the Adelsons.

Damn…I hate to say it, but those emails of Donna’s are so exculpatory for Wendi. And though we don’t see Wendi’s reply, Donna referenced one that said that Wendi “wanted to go forward with a sense of peace” and that “this is not about winning and losing”.
I do believe that Wendi went on to agree to the hitman option though, and was a part of the murder. But these emails will definitely help her in trial if her defense is: my mom and Charlie did it.
She knew it was going to happen on the morning it did.

She appeared to be close to contempt.
Several things strike me here:
1. As is usually the case in bitter divorces between parents, the children are simply pawns and become collateral damage. In all of her scheming about how to "convert" the boys, etc., not once does Donna comment on how this may be traumatic to young children. They have already lost the home life that they knew, and now she is proposing to confuse them further in terms of their religious identity?!
2. I'm in sales. Donna sounds like a desperate sales rep, trying to convince a low probability client to close on a big contract before the end of quarter. Almost like the proverbial "used car salesman" with her "once in a lifetime" type statements.
3. It is clear that Donna is obsessed with one other thing than "winning" the divorce: money.
4. Although I believe that Wendi was culpable in the murder, and I think she should be charged, it seems like she was probably a reluctant participant given the amount of hounding that Donna believes is required.
5. For all of her faults (and evil), Donna may be fatally entitled, and somewhat unhinged, but she is not unintelligent.
6. Multiple times, Donna asserts that Dan is all about control. I think this is what bothered her the most as she is obviously a control freak, and seemed to view the whole situation as a life-and-death battle for control between her and Dan.
Where are the emails Wendi sent responding to Donna’s messy and demanding ones. I’ve literally never seen or heard anything about what she responded to all this!
It’s interesting because Wendi said she didn’t think she replied to it. However, she lied about forwarding to no unsupervised visit filing. Guessing she did reply and sweet Georgia will bring them out at Wendi’s trial. Easy to forget that Wendi lies about everything and Georgia isn’t interested in burning her on everything. She just says huh, or okayyyyy. LOL
I’m wondering why/how Wendi managed to save these incriminating emails from Donna and managed to erase her replies (if she replied), and any of her own. These came from Wendi’s electronic devices. I think Wendi had no use for her mom and brother Charlie, as long as Dan was gone too. Seems like she planned on throwing them both under the bus.
