Oh i remembet the phalaenopsis schilleriana video few months ago and its so wonderful that it finally bloomed! Once it flowered, the next season it will surely bloom reliably provided the temp requirements are constant during its season. When phal schilleriana is starting to shoot out a spike and if you notice that the peduncle is thicker and stout, that spike will produce a keiki but if its quite thin or skinny or if it braches, thats a sureway a flowering spike.

Olivier, lots of water as in water when slightly wet? Or dry and wet again like the schilleriana? I mounted a variegated hybrid like the schilleriana you showed in the video and I grew my first ever phal root! Big achievement for me, with the poor AQI that we have here in Mumbai.

These are gorgeous..! 😍 Definitely worth adding to any collection!
I read an article that says it's not necessary to cut the spikes off phals (whether species or hybrids) as they will bloom continuously if you only remove the topmost spent area. Has this been your experience? I have been cutting the spikes off mine as soon as the blooms are spent in order to give the plants a 'rest' and replenish their energy. How would you advise?

Well, there are several species (most of which are the smaller type) that have spikes that keep blooming, some times for several years. As long as they are green, you should keep them and they will extend/grow further out and keep on blooming; they will be without blooms for a while but eventually they grow again. Phal. tetraspis and Phal mannii and cornu-cervi from my previous video are such orchids.
What you are talking about is usually in large hybrids that you find everywhere and indeed as long as the spike stays green, you can cut off at the third node from the bottom, preferably an inch or so above it and it may rebloom (reasonably likely). What I don't like about this method is that it is a new spike that grows on the old one and so the angle/presentation is often bad. Also they are usually not as floriferous. Personally, I prefer to start fresh with a new spike from the bottom. I am not sure it depletes them of their energy but it is just not as nice looking.
Any brown spike should be cut off as those are spent.
      I hope this helps.

I will try to shoot a video on that subject. I just water it by hand with rain water every day (twice in summer)

It looks like your Schilleriana also has a red tag? I didn’t bring mine inside last night and the temperature went down to 48😱😍

Great remark! Yes! Phal. schilleriana is definitely a warm grower. Ideally temps should not be below 55 F. I don't think your plant will be hurt badly at 48 F but it may damage spikes???
