  • The wildfire plot was one of the most horrendous plans set into motion by mad king Aerys, luckily it was foiled by Jaime Lannister.
    But what if it wasn't...?

    I feel like there is an important thing you didn't consider. Since Tywin sacked King's Landing. Then the common people outside of King's Landing would assume that the Lannister sacking is what brought the mad king over the edge. So if anything, people would be mainly pointing fingers at the Lannisters.

  • @matheusdemello2323

    Well…. This is certainly interesting.
    All this greatly reminds me of *Burn Them All* by *KnightsRook* at AO3 with this premise.
    Basically Aerys the Mad King use the Wildfire to burn Kings Landing down, killing Tywin, Jamie, Ned and Jon Arryn as well?
    Robert upon reaching Kings Landing is devastated, with news of Lyanna’s death giving birth to Rhaegar’s bastard, Jon Snow whose name Aemon in this.
    There’s some debate on who should be king between Aemon or Viserys, Viserys won, declaring Aemon a Blackfyre, Aemon does have support and a sort of friend in Arthur Dayne, who became a drunk after Aemon lost his crown.
    Benjen and Catelyn have a tense relationship with baby Robb, mostly it’s just paranoia on Catelyn’s part.
    Also Cersei married Viserys in this so yeah, she still married a King.
    Mace Tyrell crown himself king, but lost the war badly, got executed by Viserys, then Viserys split the Reach in three after Mace failed rebellion.
    Yeah so overall, if Mad King Aerys burned down Kings Landing, it would result in all kinds of chaos, with most adults dead, left with kids trying to pick up the broken pieces.

      Ned would fake her death, either marry her off or have her live with the farmers some where, Jon Snow would either grow up a bastard or live as a farmer. if he grew up a bastard of Ned, he probably will still goto the nights watch. if he lived with his mom, he might try to join the winterfell army (garrison?) [because what kid fantasy or irl doesn't dream of fighting in epic battles], which could lead to a lot of interesting things.

    I think your point about the Rebels being regarded more poorly because of the destruction of the city is undermined by the fact that the loyalists would probably be regarded even more poorly. They weren’t just fighting to defend a mad tyrant- they were fighting to defend the single most evil man to ever live, responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people. Aerys’ name will be anathema in Westerosi history for centuries after this and the people who supported him will be remembered as cowards who followed a monster.

    if aerys sent jamie with rhaegar to the trident he mightve been able to flip the tide of the war and even prevent rhaegars death, tywins preferred male heir being on the frontlines right next to aerys' practically creates a zero sum game for tywin where he can either march on kings landing as he did, risking the deaths of jamie and rhaegar and creating far more suspicions than in canon, or throw his weight behind the loyalists securing a future for the targaryan dynasty and his own pride in the same action

    I think in this scenario there is no way the kingdom could remain together. The infighting would erupt immediately and with the capital, the seat of political power destroyed I imagine many people would either try to claim the title of ruler of the seven kingdoms or just declare independence outright, since what real power is there to stop them? The system holding everything together had just been burned to the ground. Even if Robert still declared himself king how would we hold the kingdom together, how would the rebels keep their image as one of unity without the capital? The Greyjoy’s at the very least would try to declare Independence, but mabye even Dorne and the Westerlands.

    In this timeline the Martells wouldn't hate the Lannisters, but might blame Robert and Ned for what happened. Doran is a ruler who didn't want to use war to get his revenge, and may feel that Robert and Ned declaring war caused this disaster. He may feel that if they had held a conference with other lords, that perhaps something could have been done about Aerys by other means.

    I just think this would undo Aegon's rebellion. Targaryen's territory is back to only Dragonstone. Last 3 Targaryens except this time 2 boys and 1 girl. And who is to say Viserys marries off Dany to Khal Drogo and she is gifted with 3 dragon eggs. And Mother of Dragons becomes the new Aegon the conqueror and her brother husbands

  • @cycloneriot
    @cycloneriot 4 месяца назад +12

    With Westeros fractured like this I think it’ll be easy to conquer. Viserys, Daenerys, and Jon will all be alive in Essos with Gerald Hightower and Arthur Dayne raising and protecting them. Jon will be the heir to the iron throne even if it no longer exists and now being raised as a Targaryen instead of a Stark he might want his empire back. They might be able to gather more support than Viserys did on his own and if Dany gets her dragons then they have all three riders from the beginning as well as two of the greatest knights to ever live. They might be able to return to reconquer the 7 kingdoms just like Aegon did and since the others are still going to be a problem that might actually force all the kingdoms to work together again along with the returning Targaryens
    Edit:
    Also what happens with the divided kingdoms? The Lannisters will be fine after they settle whether Tyrion, Cersei, or one of Tywin’s brothers rule with Kevin probably taking command. The Martells and Tyrells will probably go to war without a king to keep them from tearing each other apart and the Tyrells might even be removed from power in Highgarden since there power came entirely from the crown and other families felt they were up jumped stewards. Will Light Finger manage to take over the Vale? The Stormlands will likely be in civil war since I imagine they would takeover the Crownlands who likely will reject their rule. Not to mention the 3 Baratheons brothers don’t love each other and with Robert falling apart after losing Lyanna, the destruction of King’s Landing and likely hearing about Jon, the brothers might be fighting amongst themselves too especially if Stannis win the loyalty of the people of Dragonstone again. The Greyjoys are probably pillaging all along the Riverlands and anywhere else they please. If most of the STAB alliance is busy with their own problems do the Tullys even manage to keep ruling the Riverlands since like the Tyrells their power mostly comes from the crown. And does the North have to spend themselves helping the rest of the STAB alliance and do they have to man The Wall themselves? Honestly only Dorne and the Iron islands and maybe the Starks seem okay

    Since there have been many Brans before, what if Bran was trying to incept Aerys to burn it down? Would the destruction of KL have made some place like Storm's End the capital? Could it have turned the rebels to split into more factions and have a looser structure? Which may have been a way to ensure that the North is prepared to deal with the problem north of the Wall as opposed to meddling in Southron politics

    • @thegreatpage5912
      @thegreatpage5912 4 месяца назад

      The question would be why would he do that. Rhaenyra already had 3 sons, so there wasn't a need for her to produce more heirs.

    • @kleailia6332
      @kleailia6332 4 месяца назад

      @thegreatpage5912 Viserys knows those children are illegitimate. And other people know this too!
      If she marries Aegon:
      1) the blacks and the greens don't go to war ( hopefully not)
      2) Rhaenyra and Aegon can be corulers, so the tradition of the eldest male heir is somewhat still kept
      3) the children she can have with Aegon will be considered first in line to the throne since they are fathered by Aegon ( the king). Luke, Jake and Godfrey will come second to their younger siblings in the line of succession. In this way Viserys can keep face and not outright allow bastards to inherit the throne.
      After all that happened, I think that this is the best solution to the problems THAT RHAENYRA CAUSED.

    Can see a few things happening after this:
    •Assuming the kingdoms do split apart Robert would probably refuse to marry and still become an alcoholic potentially leaving the stormlands to Stanis but Renly would definitely contest that (probably with the Tyrells backing him)
    •Nedd probably through the northern Lords pressuring him would declare the North's independence after the Robert doesn't get elected King. Although i can see him and Robert still remaining close as in this timeline Robert didn't get the chance to approve the mountain's actions. Maybe he'd try and support Stanis but i doubt he'd want any more bloodshed.
    •The Riverlands would probably stay allied with the North and the Vale with nothing really kicking off until the death of John Arryn or if the Ironborn try anything.
    •Dorn would probably keep to themselves (as they do in the show) however i can see house Martell splitting internally over whether or not to take revenge on the rebel houses that got their prince and princess killed along with her children.
    •The westerlands would probably have Kevin Lanister as it's king regent until Tyrion comes of age however, like the video stated Cersei might start scheming with the vessels of the rock to place herself on the throne (knowing her it wouldn't end well and probably end up with her getting married off by Kevin after a failed take over).
    •The Iron Islands would without a doubt start raiding the coasts again, probably prompting their neighbours to declare war but the Iron fleet would keep the islands safe from any potential lands, leaving them to slowly but surely lose and probably end up in a similar position as in the main timeline.
    •The Reach like in the show would try and expand their influence except this would probably be limited to the bordering kingdoms like backing Renly in a potential civil war in the stormlands and maybe trying to influence the westerlands by messing with the lords whos territory borders theirs or maybe getting Cersei to marry Loras tyrell (banking on Tyrion dying or not having heirs of his own and the fact that most of the western lords wouldn't want a dwarf as their first king in nearly 300 years)
    •The John Arryn will probably be convinced to give little finger a position in his court but i honestly don't see him being poisoned in this timeline, little fingers can't blame the Lanisters or anyone else this time. He might still try and influence the north and Riverlands but i don't see him being nearly as successful as he was in the main story.

    When will you do the part 2 of, what if Deamon and Rhea had a son, what if Deamon kept his crown and what if Deamon and Mysaria had a son.
    Speaking of the what with Deamon and Mysaria had a son because I have a interesting idea, like you said who side would he take in the dance and I say he would be with the blacks for one reason maybe he does think about joining the greens but then they learn about Lucerys death, maybe like you said Maekor could be in love with both Baela and Rhaena but he can't have Baela because Jacaerys is alive but with Lucerys gone I can see a way for lord waters to prove his loyalty to the blacks and win Rhaena heart, I am speaking of blood and cheese, remember Maekor is not like all the order kids in hosue of the dragon he a street kid he knows how to move around the city hidden passageways so I say he going with blood and cheese and while they go off to do there thing he goes after and kills Aemond cutting off his head and taking it back to dragonstone showing it to Rhaenyra giving her a reason to trust him and make him a true targaryen, and also freeing Vhagar for Rhaena.
    Also I think Maekor claiming the Cannibal would be awesome.

    Ned Stark - King of North
    Robert Baratheon - King of Stormlands
    Balon Greyjoy - King of the Iron Islands
    Doran Martell - Prince of Dorne
    Jon Arryn - King of the Vale
    Hoster Tully - King of the Riverlands
    I don't think Lords of the Reach approved Tyrells to rule them. Several more noble families were there.
    Cersei will certainly crowned her as Queen of the Westerlands.
