Yep, bashing a rig that is not meant to be a Basher will lead to breakage. A desert truck is meant to haul ass over extremely rough Terrain mostly in a straight line. Why do people not bash their drift cars in a skatepark? The same reason you don't bash a UDR in a state park, it's not what it is designed to do.

I agree Todd, I race mine over the desert terrain like it's design to do and I don't baby it I run it hard but I don't shoot it 30 feet in the air trying to break it and I've had no problems with it.
We ran ours in an actual desert with weeds and shrubs all over. It is absolutely amazing in its natural habitat.
This is my nxt rig got back into rc bought trx4 once my crawler full tricked out saving for one of these I may be a 35 yo dad of 3 but fuck it still love my tits lol

I took mine to the bmx track n sent it! I have it on one of my vids,I was lucky mine didn’t break,but the led bar came off! I recommend the paddle tires! Idk why ur rolling so much I don’t have that problem,lol maybe u have TSM on to much or not enough!? But ya I’ve beat mine up n it’s taken it, the second run ever I let a guest channel that was over try it n it was smashed into a curb first 30seconds n destroyed the A Arm, only good thing outta that was the camera was rolling so I caught it!

Did you turn off tsm? When i first drove mine. I had the same issues. Till shut off tsm. Also you have to let off the throttle when turning. Since it has a locked rear end.
Did yours come with the white tire lettering? American models dont have those :(

There are quite a few r/c vehicles designed for this type of use but the udr isn’t one of them. Scale r/cs need to be scale driven. It’s not rocket science.

Marc Anthony Marquez no not any car. My senton 6s is nicely balanced, and I was doing tight turns at like 50mph on nice grass with no dirt or dust.

It seems like everyone likes the rigid UDR. I personally like the fox one better.
Cameron Moore I was going to buy the rigid body. Instead I went with the fox body.
I just bought the UDR Fox. I think I am really going to like it. I won't see it till at least Tuesday of next week.

@@ezrabegin8234 am more of a scale/crawler guy and i have just a few rc cars which can go fast, and the UDR is my favourite one of These. It is the best "go fast" rc i have ever had. And it is one of the best RC i have ever had also including my scalers/crawlers. I am not Bashing it like the guys in the Video do...just doesnt seem cool to me.

If you're going to take an $800 RC to the skate park you may want to learn to use throttle and break to make sure the wheels are down first before you land. You definitely aired that thing out nice work!

Yeah man that's what it was. Already ordered the parts. Unfortunately only seems to be plastic parts available and nothing metal as yet.
Actually despite the handling issues I am surprised that it held up to the abuse.

Tbh my slash 2wd vxl bashes a lot better than my 4x4 but to top them all off is my erevo 2.0 that truck has some insane bashing ability. But a UDR is not really meant to bash like that I wouldn’t myself even try to drive a track either my honest opinion for the UDR is like beach or dry rice field driving hauling ass over rough terrain

it rolls because of the tires and most important it is not wide enough , i make mine wider converted with real 17mm hubs !!! now it can take any truggy tires and rims , it is awesome

Bashing out of a blind spot is never a good option 😉
Remove rear spares and lower the truck to its lowest limit and limit the suspension down travel about and inch and a half should help greatly reduce roll overs.

All of yall must have no idea what a solid axle is. No shit it rolls. Even distribution of power to the rear can only happen with a solid axle. Your gonna traction roll it. The electric motor is putting out double the power and torque to scale and yall are just used to driving toys...

We have two UDR’s ! Found them to be very durable. They are not really ment for big bash and jumps. UDR ( Unlimited Desert Racer) the name says it all. When we took ours to a desert environment it preformed amazingly. But we also bashed the poo out of it and it held up very well.
Seems every video I've watched about this truck it's broke..think I'd pass on the 800$ price tag

And how many people drive the UDR far beyond what it is designed for? Pretty much all of them. Drive it off road, don't send it off jumps like an idiot and it will probably be just fine...
There is no excuse for this from traxxas at this price tag.
I agree the price tag is kinda steep - but it wasn't designed for this. A slash could take this kind of abuse, and you can get a used one for under 300 that rocks. But I'm gonna keep youtubing around - I haven't found a similar style RC that drives like the UDR. The handling looks really fun to drive aroun with, and that is what I was wanting from my next purchase. Nice smooth action and some jump but not a 30ft back flop.
The UDR is more for scale not bashing like the slash the price tag is so high not only because it performs extremely well when driven correctly but because of all the detail on the truck look like a real truck down to the T

Yeah man, these things love to grip roll dude! Especially on grass, however i took mine out yesterday and tried the paddle tyres on grass just for the fun of it and it didnt traction roll half as bad! Maybe its the outter tread on those stock tyres digging in. I have noticed since ive done some shock tuning, changing oil and messing about with preload it has become alot better behaved on the traction roll side of things, and its alot easier to save once you see it cock its leg!

Check out the open rear diff upgrade,that will reduce the traction roll.

Yeah i think it's just a bit too soft for the surface or its just down too how the suspension geometry is with the solid axle rear end as the front can lean the truck better then a solid axle can.
You'll probably see more traction rolling if you stiffen up the front or rear, but maybe not as much traction roll if you lower it all around.

on the X-Maxx, Russian Unbreakable body, was the interior roll bar used?
hitting about 11 feet in the air jumps, Loving it mate! stock body is trashed trying to make the Russian Body be my norm :)
Yeah you need all the parts from the original body for the quick release system.
The quick release system doesn't really require, the stock Traxxas interior Roll bar for the Russian body underside, is what I am getting at. Do You guys Agree?

The UDR is a pro scale trophy vehicle, not a basher, I see no point in what you are saying.
If you use it the way it was made to be used, as a PRO-SCALE VEHICLE, it will run for a really long time.

Of course you broke it...it's a Traxxas vehicle after all xD. 1:05 Btw this is not traction rolling. The truck has just a ridiculously high center of gravity. This vehicle seems to be yet another money rip off as it lands terribly and handles like crap. You can see it from the video.

It is true that Traxxas vehicles don't perform but THEY SHOULD be designed to properly take jumps and corners. This IS a model of a desert racing truck ffs. Of course it should be designed for jumping. For the price of this truck you can buy a 1/10 scale racing buggy from Xray, Yokomo or Team Associated that IS designed for jumping, that IS reliable, that IS drivable in official races and that IS fast in every condition and you don't even 6s to do all that. Why people choose Traxxas is beyond me.
It was designed for SCALE performance!!!!! Jesus people! REAL Trophy Trucks break when pushed beyond what they were designed to do too! Try jumping a real truck 50-100 feet in the air and see how they handle it! Just drive this truck over rough terrain and it will handle just fine! Or jump it over scale sized jumps (1-2 feet high) not launch it 30 feet off a fucking skate park jump then complain that it lands terribly! Yes, there are many other better choices if you wish to launch your plastic truck 30 feet in the air or not care that it handles like a toy and bounces all over the place over rough terrain that the UDR floats over....
