Absolutely love these vids. It shows why you have the record. I started speed running just for fun to see if I could beat X in under an hour. My best time is 46:28 now. Really appreciate you making these vids bro, cheers.
I've been playing this game since I was a kid and have been watching speedruns for the past few years and decided that this is the first game I'm going to attempt speedrunning. After playing, watching tiki's tutorial, and yours, I feel I have the knowledge to progress with practice. Thank you for the tut!
I only got the chance to start the X series by playing the Legacy collection, I am grateful they released it because I otherwise wouldn't have given this amazing game a shot. Thanks for the informative video, and I will be looking for a real SNES and X cartridge to really give this game a shot!
Changing the button configuration might benefit someone who's never played the game before, but my muscle memory would absolutely screw me over constantly. I'm not even really a speedrunner, but I can't count how many time's I've beaten the SNES X games. There was a point years ago, that I'd beat all 3 every day. No way I can unlearn the "A button" dash, lol.
Came across your name when I was watching some GDQ (great run by the way!) This tutorial is pretty awesome. I was wondering though, how did you end up getting your inputs to display when using actual hardware?
I wanted a game to pick up so that I have some variety when I'm sore from grinding Super Metroid 100% runs. Being the whore for movement tech that I am, here I am on this journey to Mega Man X glory.
Really like your controller graphic and would love to add it to my stream where did you get it and any set up instruction. Thanks buddy much apreciated
So does the practice rom work with a Super Famicom? Eventually I would need a Famicom to run RockmanX (faster text). Can I get a mega man x cart in Japanese (US cart with Japanese text)?
You can play Japanese cartridges on an SNES by simply removing two plastic tabs in the cartridge slot of the console. To use the practice rom on console you will need to purchase an SD2SNES cartridge that lets you play ROMs on console.
As far as I know, you'll get the same function out of either, but they might be pretty hard to find nowadays. If you have the money to spend, an sd2snes with the practice hack is the best way to practice now.
Walrus_Prime awesome thank you! Your tutorial has inspired me to finally enter the world of speedrunning through MMX 🙏🏻 I have a very long road ahead of me.

Do I have to get the game saver PLUS or can I just get the cheaper game saver?

Where in the world can you buy a Game Saver +... I haven'T found a single one that isn't priced higher than a flashcart xD
Alexandre Lamarre I guess the speed nerds have bought them all up.
Found it 😂😂😂😂
