US army 1873: “Lever actions are good but they’ve be a little awkward in the prone.”
    21 century: “absolute nonsense”

Appreciate the information. Too many variables to consider an all or nothing position as you pointed out so well. Young shooter would be easier than my old behind laying prone. As you pointed out the terrain determines if its even possible. The viewers make some very good comments to go along with your "hands on". Thank you LG 50/100 & subscribers.

Thank you for bringing this point out into the light (pon intendant 😊)
I Was but a kit 10 years old and I could do just that what you demonstrate here, imho people have become to much snobs, in the so call "Gun world" I call them boutique culture of rifles & guns, one could say that Less is More every time. Sure there are situations that modernity come in handy but that's not for this forum it belongs in a "Necessity" of the situation that we honestly don't want to be in but a necessarily need one, and when it comes down to it a spear a Sword Bow & Arrow are the ultimate practical weapons that don't need special machinery to be produced minus the original making of one Including Traps onece it's made, it is reusable! (No bullets or mechanic problems etc.)
Well like I said IMHO. 😊‼️
    👏👏👏👍👍👍

An AR or AK with a 30 rd or larger magzine needs more ground clearance than even the M95, then the extra clearance needed to change mag. Having an extended mag was the first thing soldiers complained about when the US adopted the M14 to replace the top loading M1 Garand.

Hi lever guns. From Pennsylvania buddy Jeff. Lever action rifles are the only hunting rifles I use. I got my Pennsylvania doe with my grandpaps 1894 30 wcf made in 1909. I still wear his woolrich coat and pants. Red and black checkered. And dressed the deer with his knife. I took my rifle to show the local gun shop. They are my friends. I was told to not use his rifle. To valuable. It was made to use and be respected. I hope grandpaps Paul hears it shoot in heaven .I almost lived at grandpaps farm. I miss the old days. God bless. Your Pennsylvania buddy Jeff.😊

I think in heavy undergrowth like you have around there, a kneeling (or sitting) position would keep you pretty well hidden, especially if you're draped in Ghillie suit. The only concern of a lever action is working the lever, otherwise there's no other issues about firing. A semi-auto is the easy way, I think, but that's not what this channel is about. A lever action ejects from the top or side, really no different than the semi-auto or bolt action. It's merely the lever stroke to be concerned about.
.405 Win is pretty cool. Just wish it wasn't so stinking hard to find components or loaded ammo for.

The throw of a lever gun , what about them gun that have mags that stick down 6 or more inches . 😮

Take an AR-15 with a 30 round magazine inserted and compare it's height to a lever gun with full throw of the lever. I would say that they are about the same.
As well, with full and constant cheek weld, I would not see a great deal of difference in movement between a bolt gun or a lever gun when cycling the action.

I couldn’t get down there to shoot a gun my neck’s fused together and it won’t bend back enough to see much

Nice show. Would be good news for me as a left-handed shooter who might have some awkwardness in handling a bolt-action

Prone makes that heavy recoil a bear, because your body cannot rock back or absorb nearly as much movement.
