yup, Subotech/GPtoys/HBX supplying factory knows their plastics very well, same factory supplies some items to WLtoys, JJRC, and Virhuck. learn to spot their stuff, good deals to be had for cheap, ya can't go wrong.
The best RC value on the market today! I finally fried the esc on 3s, so I put a 120 amp esc and receiver in it. Now it kicks ass and the motor never gets overheated. I've been thrashing mine for months now and haven't broken any suspension parts! Make sure you get the one with metal wheel hubs for a few dollars more. This thing is so much fun! You can reinforce the body by coating the underside by applying some epoxy with a brush. I do this with all of my rc body's. When they do crack, use some CA and baking soda to weld the cracks back together. 😉😁
I think this is the best chassis design for these size cars..plus their gears, diffs are amazing.. simple shock upgrade is nothing..i picked one up for well under 100 bucks..great video!
Informative videos thanks to them I understood the basics of rc a little, thank you, also with their help I chose this year at once everything I had wanted for a long time, a car, a boat, a vertical, batteries, suspension, rubber.
I installed offroad tires (10€) on aliexpress and 2cm wheel hex extenders.. i know this isnt the best way to make it wider but it hardly ever flips over now. Its a beast. I also installed wltoys oil shocks. Beware because in the rear they push up the car to much causing the dogbones to get stuck because of the angle.. i solved that temporarely with ti-rips to stop it from fully extending. So for anyone looking to get a pro version. Its so sturdy and strong. Mine hasnt broken anything and i bashed it on trees and ramps and what not.. just clean it and oil it after dirty sand drives.
These are built on a very good chassis. They are fast and durable. I love them for the money. The lower cost brushed version does not have all the metal drive train parts and is not as durable. The plastic drive shafts will break and the diffs have plastic cups where the drive shafts fit and will also break. Far better in my opinion to spend the extra $20 on the brushless version and get the all metal drive train.
It's alright seeing tomley going full talbot on that buggy every once in a while, surprised to see the chassis hold up very well with those huge jumps 🤣
its funny Phil' when SCY first started putting these rc's on ali express in brushed form, they used to offer oil filled shocks option added to the package! wonder why they stopped doing that especially to their new pro model. doesnt make sense to me! these things are quite snappy and fast in brushed form, these brushless versions are very impressive performance wise minus lack of oil filled shocks. Would be nice if they were a company that responds to customer concerns and complaints like MJX and Rlaarlo!
yup, A285004 shocks being 13-14 bucks for 4 here in the US, they might as well be provided on ALL, even brushed 390 powered. pogo sticks SUCK!! the A285004's can break landing hard upside down, the lower loops need more strength. threaded shock bodies, nice damping even from 10w-40 motor oil.
First time I have seen you go full bash. Impressed by the durability of the RC. Compared well to the more expensive 1/16 scale rc's that come with bushings and brushed motors. Nice work!
Not a bad little truck. That's the hardest I've seen you run one I think. Looks fun. I don't run mine real hard as far as jumping either. Great to watch.
I recently got 4 brushed versions (buggy, truggy, jeep, stadium truck) of this sent to me for review and I have to say that they are pretty nice little entry RCs. The brushless version looks like a lot of fun! Great review as always!
Wow! What an impressive little jeep, Phil! 😯 Fantastic bashing and review!!! But yeah, it needs a stranger body. 😬 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Sometimes I watch your videos, even if I don’t care about the specific vehicle you’re discussing, simply because I enjoy your personality, your accent and your sense of humour 😂 you’re a legend my guy!
Great video as always but I REALLY would like to see how fast on 3s that thing can go with the original shocks in it. My favorite recent video by you was when you tried to make the Bandit hit 70mph, or whatever the top speed on the box was, and I think you trying to make the stock version of this hit 70kph would be interesting.
That is pretty dang good and durable man. It took a freekin beating and the core chasis and drivetrain managed to stay in tact. Im definitely buying this for my nephew. I had it on the maybe list for a little while but after seeing this yup it will join the fleet. My nephew isnt going to be flying it at a skate park so the body should last a good while. Thanks tomley
I recon it can handle 3s but they tell you 2s only to keep it from overheating, which is pretty smart to be fair, i tend to put 4s motors and escs in my 3s cars for that exact reason
How about fitting other suspension parts from MJX? They look similar, maybe the metal suspension arms would fit? I think about whole metal set, because the steering knuckle looks a bit different, so the question is if the parts will fit on the body and if the bearing will fit?
@@BASSstarlet Kev has his strengths. I enjoy his enthusiasm and positivity. His friends he bashes with are very entertaining as well. I love RC. Everything about it. What i don't love is RC people bashing other RC people. It's supposed to be a fun hobby. Fun comes in many different forms.
That surprised the hell out of me!! Awful shocks, aside, not a bad little truck. And if you ever see a guy walking around on the beach, looking like Captain Birdseye, it'll be my mate, Keith. I thought the beach looked familiar. 😆👍🏻
Hmmm, you should probably deduct a point from the car for having to replace the shocks. Other than that it went well. Where I live we have beautiful white sand beaches. but no tidal stretches like that one with heaps of wet compacted sand. Cool vid as always.
yup, last time I bought A285004 shocks they cost 13-14 bucks for 4 of em here in the US. cheap as they'd be in China they should come with a set out the box, even on slower brushed versions. the stock Tamiya DT02 actual friction shocks do their job very well, they're not pogo sticks, and are dirt cheap to manufacture. when they get bouncy just rinse the silicone rubber tubing inside the shock bodies with alcohol and they're back damping good like they should.
Shame it doesn't come stock with oil shocks. It took a pasting. I actually like that body shell design, shame it didn't hold up. The paddles were cool. Be interesting to see what you do with this now....
with the longer WLtoys shocks on it to raise the pan extra 1/4" on smooth flat water I think it would ski. may need slightly taller wider paddles too for that, generally stuff from "that factory" is kinda light weight like you'd need to ski it.
Phil,I love your videos!!! You are definitely the best R/C podcaster on you tube. You show us the cheaper/fastest/most expensive R/Cs out there. How many R/Cs do you actually have?? And what do you do with the R/C cars/trucks that you beat to death? 🤣 Do you ever sell them? Let me know if you do!!! Do you have any older Sportwerks products or any XTM Cars or Trucks or buggies?? My favorite 2wd nitro R/C is the XTM Xcellerator!! For the price that truck is really fast and reliable. I wish XTM and Sportwerks were still in business!! I loved their products and their factory support line was top notch!! Anyways.....have a great day Phil!!! I can't wait to see your next video!!! Maybe something from Losi.......Losi Mini something? I heard they are coming out with JRXT Mini Truck????
I can't get these locally so I am opting for the MJX 1/16 Hyper Go 16207. I can get the 3S 2 battery version for $170 AUD which is $118 USD. I recently got the WLtoys 124016 for around the same $. Both are for my dog funny enough, she chases them round but I think the MJX will be better suited for park walks for her.
Muy buenos doas Mr como estas , es pequeño pero tiene la agilidad de un coche grande , salidos y gracias Amigo feliz dia , saludos desde Panama centroamerica
I bought one of the Jjrc car It was very good and powerful and I decided to buy another one and it was this type, I burned the ESC,From 3S Lipo battery 😅
What size shocks did you use pls I have the brushed version and hate the suspension but aren't an rc guru I just brought it on a whim to bash around with my son while he's using his 1, it handles like crap over bumps yours looks happy on dirt
I hope i can get some help here. Just got one this week, turned it on, servo turned the wheels only slightly, rear wheels spun, then everything stopped. After about 20 minutes, plugged everything in steering doesn't work. Rear wheels ran for 30 seconds, dead again. Tried everything. Am i doing something wrong? Also the light on my controller isn't blinking.
Hi Tomley , i bought same car for my little boy but it's extremely fast and hard to be controlled at home , any possibility to decrease the speed to half so he can enjoy in the apartment ?
09:31 It didn't even break on-impact... the wheelnut came loose and detached, mid-air!
That's not a bad little RC! I'm very impressed.
Yes... good spot. You can just see it come of as it's getting ready for impact haha
but don't forget it comes with friction dampers as stock ;)

Yeah, oil shocks would have been an easy thing for them to do, and would have probably given them way more success!
Find a tougher larger body to cover the wheels and that could be a good base, Simple shock change and that was flying.
Amazing! Would it cross a body of water if you had the paddel tyres on and the 3s in it? I am tempted to get one and put it to the test!
