      As soon as I filmed that I laughed at myself and knew I’d get called up for it 😂 we only had one to wash that day but usually once cleaned they get piled on the drying rack and we make a chain, dunk, dunk, pile, put away 😂

    Hello and thank you for your video. I’m 48 years old, have a soul crushing career in IT, and a certified dive master that can’t stop thinking about quitting my job and becoming an instructor. Am I too old?

    Is it possible to go from uncertified (Open Water) to instructor all in one go? Obviously isn't ideal but I know this is the only path for me.

    • @BlueHorizonDiving
      @BlueHorizonDiving  Год назад +1

      Some dive centres do offer ‘zero to hero’ programmes but we really do not recommend them. They take a few months to do.
      To be a good dive instructor, you need to be experienced diving in multiple different conditions and environments. With years of experience to truly be able to teach someone.
      We recommend taking your time and learning to dive by gaining experience first.

      @@BlueHorizonDiving Yes that's what i imagined. I think i will do one of these programs but i also take safety super seriously so I definitely wont teach anyone anything until I have experience.

    Do you think it is worth becoming a dive instructor later in life? 45+? Or is it a young persons game?

    • @BlueHorizonDiving
      @BlueHorizonDiving  Год назад +1

      We see a lot of older people becoming dive instructors now as they want a career change or even see it as a retirement gig to keep them active a few days a week.

    What's the deal with areas that have sharks? Do you rarely see them & just accept it's a risk you take when diving?

    • @BlueHorizonDiving
      @BlueHorizonDiving  Месяц назад

      Hey Sean! Sharks actually don’t cause us any problems in the slightest, we actively seek them out because they’re such a treat to see!
