- Here is a detailed description of the parts used for this press. With this information yall just need a few hours a chopsaw and welder to get this put together. If there are anymore questions please leave them in the comments or my email lonsurez01@yahoo.com. Thanks for watching
I built one similar but used a trailer jack for the screw and main body. Welded a piece of extra tube to the end of the jack to make it adjustable and it works great.
I just finished welding up the frame for my bow press. Thanks for the video! This was a huge help!
Very nicely done sir!
Video has been awesome!! Bow press has been the one thing I've been lacking in my shop to and like you most of us don't wanna pay 500+ for a home press. Being I have alotta welding and fabrication in my blood i am a BIG diy guy as well. Definitely gonna be takin advantage of this idea as well and maybe make a few tweaks. Awesome video man!! This has probably been one of the better diy presses I have seen yet
Awesome! I build mine a couple years ago and works great and now I'm going to upgrade it with a fingers for past parallel bows
Damn this is a awesome
Thanks for the update. Now I think I have a new project to add to my todo list.
Just built my own press almost same way.
Good content. We'll explained. Thanks
Great work, thanks for sharing
I'm going to build that !! It looks simple and effective !!
What do you mean by you tapped your nut on the all thread? I built one just like this but when I turn the handle it comes out instead of moving the press. Please answer this on your great press . I am 80 years old and try and stay in shape with several different types of bows. Please help I know it’s something simple that I need to do. I love what you are doing and thanks for your videos. I’m not just blowing smoke, you’re doing t. God bless.
I put a nut on the inside about 1.5" from the handle side of the allthread. You either need to double nut it or tack it or it will back out that's what your press will push against when you crank it open. If this doesn't help let me k ow amd I'll try to clarify it another way
Just seen you got part 2 awesome
I’m new to archery but love this
Thanks for sharing the information I will make mine tomorrow👍
Thanks for watching, glad I could help
Awesome 👌 job !
Thank you, and thanks for the support
I get it now. Thanks
cool. The fingers would be the most difficult part to make. How about some UHMW on the end of the inner part and the end of the outer part so the sliding section is gliding on UHMW. I'm guessing with the 2 nuts you back them apart to take up all slack in the threads so there is no free movement of the screw? I like the removable part. Maybe attach something so you can insert wood that extends to under the bow for those beyond parallel limbs so the bow won't shoot out the bottom.
Love it awesome job! Was wondering how short the press will go orif it could be used with a crossbow?
Thanks for the dimensions and method to build this bow press!
I had such a mini bow press, but it doesn't work on my Bowtech SS34!
Can you forward the link of the fingers?
thank you in advance!
Hello, what are the measurements where the bow finger are sit at on the body? I’ll be making mine on Tuesday ( tomorrow). Also what’s the smallest width it can go to?? Thank you sir! Great videos!! I’m excited!
Acme screw would be better. I tried it with all thread. I shoot an 80lb bow and found the all thread wanted to bind up. Acme screw will be more expensive but better
Hey I just wanted to know how thick is the walls of the 2x2 and the 1x1.5 I have to get
Are the 2 nuts on the crank handle end welded to the all thread rod just inside the 2 in square tube? Thanks.
Awesome job!
They aren't not welded I just tightened the hell put of them against eachother
I made one just like it about ten years ago have less than 200 dollars in it
Thanks for the video. What wall thickness are you using for the square tubing? 1/8"?
The main body is 3/16, but that's only because that's all I could find in my scrap pile. The rest is 1/8"
Using 3/16" would leave about 1/8" gap. Have you had any issue with that movement or have you done anything to rectify that?
Can you please post a link to the fingers you bought? I am also cloning an Easy Green and have hit a wall with the fingers. Thanks for the videos!

Thanks for watching. These are the ones I used, they have went up in price since I built my press
Using 3/16" would leave about 1/8" gap. Have you had any issue with that movement or have you done anything to rectify that?
I haven't had any issues, but I did heat up the stationary part of the press,(where the movable part inserts to the stationary side and beat the ends in a little to sorta tighten things up a bit
Do you think 1/16” tube thickness would be fine?
I'm not real sure, I only used what I had on hand. I would think if you could use a slightly heavier walled steel it would be better
Are the two nuts tack welded on the end?
At first I just tightened the hell put of them against eachother , I have later went back amd tacked them in place. I did t have any issues with them not welded I just feel better knowing they are
Whats the biggest axle to axle bow you can press with those measurements?
You know I've gotten that measurements before and I can't remember the exact number, I know it was over 40" for sure. I've taken the limbs completely off my bow and it was 42"ish with the limbs completely straight and I was able to press them back into place
Roger that. Thanks a lot. I bought all the parts today. I'm making my own fingers though. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks for the watching,
is the square tube an 1/8" thick?
Yes
@@lonsurez83 Thanks!
Where did u buy the fingers
I found them on ebay, but I haven't been able to find them anymore
do you have the ebay info for the fingers
Unfortunately I don't, I just checked to see if there was a part number or somthing I could share with you and I can't even find a single set of fingers at all.
