  • Portable Bow Press - amzn.to/2QZkhHi
Bow tuning has been a hobby of mine for years. I like to know how things work and tuning my bows over the years allows me to understand exactly how my bow can be setup to perform when I need it. Not everyone wants to know how to tune their own bow, but for me, it allows for a deeper look into archery. Bow Tuning really does start with a bow press and the Bowmaster Portable bow press is a Do it yourself type Bowpress that is affordable for anyone getting into archery. I show a few tips I use before I press any bow. These tips create a safe way to press the bow and make sure I do not damage my investment. The Bowmaster Portable bow press is made to be used anywhere and this is why I like it.
I show you my archery bench where I setup and tune my compound bows. It is super easy to transform any garage or workshop space for tuning purposes. Then I show you a few things to prepare your bow before you press.
1 - solid horizontal positioning of the bow
2- Back you limb bolts off about 3 turns
3- make sure your Bowmaster Portable bow press clamps are clear near the cams - you may need to move a draw stop. (MARK it before you move it)
4 - Move you cable stop post if needed to clear the Bowmaster Portable Bow press

I made a wooden bow holder to position my bow for when I use my bow master.
I also made my own wooden draw board and string/cable jig.
So Im self sufficent... I make my own strings/cables and I can tune my own setup.

My only suggestion would be to not have embedded music playing while you're talking or lower it more. It was a bit difficult to hear you at times. It was still a good video and enjoyable. Thanks for sharing!

Yes and thanks for the feedback! My most recent videos have less music during talking points. It always sounds great in the headphones while editing, but when publishing its a completely different experience. Thanks

How do you find the ezy press on the virtical lims ? Any worries with it coming off ? Also where do i find your podcast?

With any bow, you do want to check with the manufacturer recommended bow presses. Many bow models do list this press. Right now the podcast is only on RUclips...have a few things the works to get it going on the standard podcast platforms.

Where did you get the brackets for the split limbs? They have a curve to it that the new L brackets don’t have.

My press is about 15 years old and these are the original brackets that came with the press. I cannot find them either. The best shot might be to keep an eye on eBay for the older style. Is this causing issues?

you don't need the L bracket for split limbs, check bowmaster portable bow press's website for instructions.

$50 for a bow aster portable press?! Good god man, I think you’ve been had! They’re easy to find for only about $20

Sweet - Even better! Thanks for the heads up. Back in 2019 this was the price per my research. Mine is much older and who knows what they were going for. I know the design has changed slightly as well with the brackets...for anyone looking to get this press - please verify it will work with your bow design. This can usually be found from the manufacturer of the bow. Appreciate the feedback.

From the title i thought you were showing how to make your own bow press, not how to use one.
