DIY Bow Press Fingers

A video on how to make press fingers from 1/2" square bar. This is the method I use to construct fingers, there are no measurements, just how I make them. There are plenty of places on the web where you can find plans and measurements for these.

I just used threaded rod, 3/8" works really well as long as you keep it greased

Looks like 60mm from each end. Then turn and about 20mm

hi just a question what did you use for the rod on the press
having a hard time finding acme rod in australia

***** Cheers ive found them but not sure how to attach and bronze nut to the steel shs. Ive actuuly made this press on the weekend and used a $30 jockey wheel from super cheap auto works great and just hsd to grind down the round nut to a square and welded it straight to yhe arm. Only prob is it only has 10in of travel so i csnt press anything over 38in

***** not sure i understand. dont the bolt heads stick up stopping the shs from sliding ive used 35mm and 40mm so theres only 1mm spare each side. did you use a larger size gap? thanks for the help

These should be from solid metal plates, not bent tubes.
